I now have all of the graphic novels so far.

I hope I enjoy them. I have absolutely no intention of reading them till I'm finished watching season 4, but they will give me another 30 days worth of MLP:FiM. I ordered volumes 1-3 and Pony Tales Volume 1 last month, and ordered Volume 4, Pony Tales Volume 2 and Friends Forever Volume 1 a few days ago, and they've already arrived. The funny thing is, Friends Forever Volume 1 isn't due out till tomorrow, but I have it today. I guess that's one benefit of using Amazon, even if whoever delivered my latest order decided to stuff it in my small mail box(thankfully the GNs weren't bent). Now I'll just need to gradually order the DVDs, and possibly, The Elements of Harmony Guidebook and The Journal of the Two Sisters.

The novelty of having one of the GNs before I'm technically supposed to wasn't completely lost on me. I at least checked out the included cover art. Hopefully I'll like the comics too. I like the show a lot, and a lot of the fan content is top notch. I've heard mixed things about the comics, but based on what I sampled, and read up on, before buying these GNs, they sound promising enough.

The comics should be read as they come out, since they change with the show. Twilight becoming an alicorn, for example. The problem with the DVDs is they are not in high definition. The show looks so good in HD. I wish they were on Bluray.

This is my new signature.

I wasn't sure about the comics graphic novels, myself, but I just recently received my copy of volume one of FIM.  I'm accustomed to burning through something like a manga in short order, but I didn't expect to sit down...  And read all of volume 1 in one go. xD  So...  I like them.  And although I'd planned to buy and read them to keep myself from going crazy waiting for more episodes, it doesn't look like they'll last all that long in my hands.

A blu-ray release would be nice. I'd get that. As it stands, the DVDs will suffice for me, once I invest in them. I plan on re-watching the show on DVD, and re-reading the comics in canon order, or as close to the canon order as possible. For now, I'll be reading the comics out of order, but I'm ok with that for now.

@PegaMister: Rainbowdash at the start of the Daring Don't episode comes to mind. She couldn't wait for another Daring Do book. I think the show itself, and spinoff media, have had a similar effect on the fandom. I plan on carrying my tradition of watching a single episode a day over to the comics, and reading only a single issue a day, but I can imagine it would be easy to burn through an entire GN in one sitting.
