Help with Vinyl Figures.

I am reaching out to my fellow Bronies in a plea for help. My friend has been diagnosed with iritis, which is normally treatable, but because they don’t know what is causing his they don’t know what to treat. So right now it is a battle to just keep his eyesight while they try different things. They have talked about putting him on chemo even though they haven't found cancer, as that is the worst case scenario for causing this problem. The Doctors have told him that the chances are he will loose his eyesight if they can’t find what is causing this.

 

So here is what I’d like your help with. He is a Brony also, what brought us together, and has been talking about getting vinyl figures for a while. He’s just never done it past making a list on Amazon. What I am asking you guys to help with is to purchase one of the figures from the list and have a note attached of encouragement or get well wishes.  He is really down and I think this would help brighten his day.

Well, perhaps if I have extra money in the next month or so, I can help out. I like giving gifts to people that can't go to conventions. It would be a good thing if I can do that next month because the community is indeed awesome like that.

Don't forget I might be able to help sometime later. Just because I can't really help now, it does not mean that I never will. Hmmm, i like the idea of doing this, but i feel as if the way you worded the op kinda puts some off. By that, it sounds more like you're just trying to see if we'll meet some kind of expectation rather than really doing it in thought of your friend.

 

Regardless, I actually have an extra Lyra just sitting around because I accidentally grabbed it instead of Bon Bon. Might be able to do something with that if I can get around my parental units (they're really weird about people over the internet and whatnot) should you/him be fine with doing it that way, unless you'd just prefer to go through Amazon.

Just thought I'd post an update for those who are wondering what's going on with my friend. He has found out that they are planning on starting a form of chemo on Friday. All his tests come back normal but his vision is deteriorating due to the scaring and swelling and they think this will slow the process and buy them time.

Just another update for those interested. He is doing okay now that he is on the chemo treatment they have set up for him. The eye problem isn't getting worse, but it isn't getting better either it's more just staying stable. He has his up days and down days with it, but he's staying cheerful for the most part.

 

He was thrilled to get Lyra, really made his day. The smile on his face was fantastic. Thanks again Haven.

I thought I'd give an update on my friend. He's been really sick on the chemo and has a lot of down days. It's helping keep his eye sight but taken a lot away from him. I just thought I'd bump this to see if there are those out there willing to help brighten this time.
