Uh… I thought Babs Seed was a filly… Beside, Babs is a girls' name.

 

Other than that, this looks really interesting! I think I'll audition later for a few of them. And I know a perfect Apple Bloom.

 

One thing, though. My recorder only records as mp4s or mp3s… I can save it to SoundCloud or YouTube, as well as email or uploading it to Dropbox, so that part isn't a problem.

When you say you want the recordings in stereo... You don't really mean you want people to record in stereo, do you? You want the recordings mixed into stereo, I hope. Because most people don't have the equipment or expertise to record in stereo (I know I don't). Vocal tracks are normally recorded in mono and mixed into both channels.

Another thing to point out is 32-bit audio is very specific and extremely prohibitive. Most people will either be recording in 16-bits or not even know. Brony voice actors aren't recording engineers. you know.

 

In fact, specifying the bitrate, bits, and stereo is extreme overkill. Any bitrate, as long as it sounds good, and recorded in mono and mixed to stereo is perfectly adequate for any fan production, and most listeners won't be able to tell the difference.

I might be a perfect choice for porcelain shield, but I'll need a bit of time to get a good recording to you, and I record from a tablet, so I don't believe I can get you a .wav, but I can get an mp3/4 so you may have to convert it

In this time, they can record in 16-bits, but I'll convert it to 32-bits.

Your audio quality will still be 16-bit (which is plenty adequate for HD-quality, by the way). Converting something that was originally recorded in 16-bit to 32-bit won't change the quality of the audio. It'll just make it 32-bits. 

 

Most "high-resolution" audio is recorded in 24-bits, but unless people are listening extremely closely and using special spectrum analyzers, they won't be able to tell the difference between a high-quality 16-bit recording and a high-quality 24-bit recording. The human ear is incapable of detecting a difference between 32-bits and 24-bits because the extra range you get at the 32-bit depth is beyond our natural hearing range.

 

For any fan work, recording at 24-bits is top-notch. Recording at 16-bits with a good mic and interface will get you similarly nice results.

Well, what most of us have done is record them and post them to SoundCloud or YouTube and send a link on here. The OP says to email them, so you could do that, too. It's probably best to do them separate, either way, though. Easier access for reference when deciding who to cast. Rather than listen to multiple characters at once, they can listen to all the Heart Eye (for example) auditions at once to determine who they feel fits the role best.

 

If you haven't already, hop on the Voice Actors' Guild thread. It's a thread dedicated to helping one another in their endeavours of Voice Acting.
