Soula is traveling from place to place. Attempting to learn how to use other magic besides the original alicorn magic. So in doing so she also hopes to meet the right colt to share a life with. But because of her ability to live for so long, she feels alone. Even with all of the friends she make through helping them.

Soula sat there in shock and dispair. Her head down, and wings slumped over. She was sitting there in pouring rain, tears running down her cheeks. Her best friend has just recently passed away, due to a fight she had gotten in with one of the royal guards.

Soula layed down next to the grave and continued weeping.

Death Looked down at his list and sighed.

 

"This jobs getting to me... Maybe I could find a replacement for a couple of years... I could do with a break, and maybe if I'm lucky I'll find her.

 

Death stuck his list in his saddlebag and pulled a black robe on and grabbed his trademark scythe before walking out of his castle and heading to a funeral.

Soula sighed gently and stood up straight. Her height was quite obvious that she wasn't a normal pony. But currently she was wearing a coat, which was covering her wings.

 

She looked around and wiped away the tears. Her ears down she began to walk away from the grave, with her head high. She still continued to cry, but she did not want to be seen crying over something she knew would happen. This was one of the down falls of being an alicorn. You could make friends, but you would out live them all.

Death arrives to the first funeral and spots a mare crying, he pulls his hood further down his head, trying to cover his appearance.

 

He walks up to the Coffin and touches the lid with scythe and recites a forgotten saying that would be recognised by any alicorn.

She stopped her crying and looked back at him. She raised an eyebrow at him and tilted her head alittle bit.She quietly walked over to him with hear ears down nad layed back down next to the coffin, wanting to be near her friend once more.

 

"Your words are very pleasant. Thank you for attending." As deaht could see there wasn't really anyone else there but herself. The only thing anypony coudl gather was the pony who died did not have very many in the way of friends.

Death looks surprised, but doesn't move his head for fear of having his appearance noticed.

 

"Its unfortunate that she died this young, life is to precious to waste... May I ask how she died miss?"

 

He removes his scythe and lays down next to the mare, keeping his hood low.

she looked him over and sighed alittle bit.

"She was a bit of a hot head and would always get into trouble. She has never been a fan of the princesses, and went about attacking the guard. I tried to stop her but I only made it worse" she put her head down and covered her face, she looked like she was ashamed of something. She looked back up at him and sat up straight." It is my fault that she is dead, but I severally didn't mean to"

Death nods and nuzzles the sad mare through his hood.

 

"Do not blame yourself mortal, if anyone is to blame, it is the guards... They have to much power... And it saddens me that celestia has yet to listen to my reasoning"

 

He says a short spell and a sword appears on the deceaseds coffin.

 

"The Sword, a symbol of strength, the strength to stand up and fight for her beliefs... Even if it cost her, her own life... I hope she considers accepting my gift..."

Soula nodded to the colt and stood up.

"I believe she will. If it's weapons? She will absolutly love it." She smiled alittle and yawned a bit. She shook her head, her mix matched colored eyes looking droppy. She had been crying enough that she began to drift off. She had been crying since the death of her friend not more than a week ago. Her horn glowed a gentle dark green, remenicent of dark power. She was using a simple summoning spell. It was one she had learned to use in order to obtain hre glasses. She showed up on her face as she began walking.

 

"My name is soula"

Death stands and is silent for a second, before he speaks.

 

"I am... Osiris"

 

He walks beside the mare, and smiles slightly.

 

"May I ask how you recognised the words I spoke at the funeral... They are long forgotten words... Are you a historian of some kind"

 

He looks over the mare, admiring her features.

She held her head up tall and smiled alittle bit. Her eyes looking heavy with sleep. As the rain began to stop her coat fluttered alittle bit as her wings began to move. She reached back and grabbed the coat off of herself with her mouth. Her wings spread out. She stuffed the coat in her satchel and continued to move.

 

"I know the words because of my parents. They taught it to me when I was little."

Death stops walking and gawks at the mare.

 

"Your an alicorn... Why didn't I sense it sooner"

 

Death bows.

 

"Forgive me for being so rude fellow immortal... If I knew I would have presented myself better"

 

He returns to the mares side.

 

"May I treat you to a meal, to make up for my rudeness"

She laughed alittle at him and shook her head no." I would rather not be treated like I am a princess. I dropped that title over 300 years ago." she looked at him and smiled gently."But you know what would be nice? I am very tired. I have spent the last several days crying. Not really getting any sleep. If you have a place that I might spend the night that would be fantastic."

Death stops for a few seconds but then nods and begins reciting a spell.

 

"I have just the place... My castle will do just fine..."

 

Death finishes the spell and a purple portal opens up.

 

"Just through this portal soula, I have some fine rooms that need some occupants."

 

He waits for soula, humming a cheerful tune.

She walked through the portal bowing her head to him."thank you very much osiris" She flicked her tail as she walked through. Her head drooped down as she began to waver around in her walk. She really was exsausted from staying up the last few days. She closed her eyes alittle as she walked.

Death follows soula through the portal and on the other side is his castle.

 

Inside the castle are walls of grey stone, the halls are lit with rows of torches with purple flames.

 

"Ceberus!"

 

A gray pony rounds the corner and smiles when he sees Death.

 

"Ah my Lord you have returned, who is your friend"

 

Death smiles and begins to walk down a hall.

 

"This is Soula... She will be staying with us tonight... Could you ready one of the guest rooms"

 

Ceberus stops and looks nervous.

 

"But... My lord... We are running annual repairs on all the guest rooms..."

 

Death nods and continues to walk.

 

"I see... she shall have my room for the night"

 

Ceberus nods.

 

"Very good lord anything else"

 

Death shakes his head.

 

"No you may go about your business"

 

Ceberus nods and walks off.

 

Death stops outside a large wooden door and turns to soula.

 

"This is my room... You may stay here for the night... I shall find something to do for the evening..."

 

Death yawns.

 

"Sorry just a bit tired"

She looked at him and nodded alittle."Then why don't we share the room. I will make myself a bed on the floor. You can take the actual bed." She began walking around looking around for what she could find. While she was looking, she stared at the designs on the wall. She nodded alittle and continued to look. Until she managed to find blankets and pillows. she went about and began making a bed for herself.

Death walked in and stood in front of her.

 

"Soula... I'll take the floor you can have the bed... Besides I can't let a beautiful mare like you sleep on the floor can I"

 

Death walked into a on suite bathroom and looked in the mirror, deciding whether or not he'll keep his robe on to conceal his looks.

As he went into the bathroom, she layed on the bed of pillows and blankets, stretching out and trying to relax. She was one to never be rude, and in her mind, she was the one that needed to sleep on the floor. she was a guest and it only seemed right to her. She closed her eyes and slowly began to drift off.

Death decides to keep his robe on and leaves the bathroom, he then spots soula falling asleep on the floor.

 

"That just won't do..."

 

He starts to recite a spell that will teliport soula onto the bed without her even noticing.

 

He finishes the spell and soula magically disappears and reappears on the bed.

 

"That's better..."

Her head popped off of hte pillow and she frowned alittle. She sighed and layed her head back down on the pillow. She didn't really feel like fighting with the colt. She was tired and that was obvious. She yawned and did completley drift off. She was having dreams of her and her friends in the past playing around in a field.

Death saw that she was asleep now and decided that he could take of his robe, he took it off and placed it on a hook by the door, he then took his saddle bag of and stuck that on his desk.

 

He walks over to the makeshift bed and lays down, burying himself into the cushions.

The next morning she woke up and stretched. Getting her cloak back on her back so that she could cover her wings. She was happy that she finally got a good nights sleep. After a week of being up. She decided that she would go about the castle and explore. Mostly hoping she would find a kitchen to cook.

Death didn't wake when soula got up, but he did mumble something about pancakes and luna wearing tight leather, then dug himself further under his cover, still hidden from view.

 

As soula turns a corner she finds a door marked Royal Kitchens.

 

(I hope you don't mind me slightly controlling your character like that, it was he only way.(Sorry))

She smiled alittle and ran into the kitchen looking really happy. She hadn't seen one int almost 20 years. She began moving around the kitchen like she was a pro. Grabbing measuring cups, eggs, flour, and the like, she began to make pancakes and eggs, with bacon and other things. She was giving a genuin smile.
