"My name is Riley, just in case you forgot," Riley told Destiny.

 

"Um, are you... practicing martial arts on a tree?" he asked. "That can be very harmful to trees, you know. Why not use a pillow? That's a better alternative, I think." He continued to ramble on meaninglessly.

"I don't think the tree notices or cares. I'm not making a dent in it," she said.

 

"And a pillow would be too small."

 

Oh yeah, he's the colt that rambles all the time.... she thought to herself.

 

She roundhoused kicked the tree one last time. "I'm finished practicing anyway."

"Even though it's not a sentient creature, trees live and die just like we ponies do," said Riley. "That's what my mom tells me. I haven't actually tried to see if it's true, but hey, mother knows best. Especially when it comes to cookies!"

 

He held up a chocolate chip cookie in all its beauty. "Want one?"

"No thanks," Destiny said, turning down the cookie.

 

"They might not be sentient, but they're stronger than us ponies," she said. "I don't think it minds if somepony kicks it, since animals live there, pick its leaves and fruit," she said.

Soprano approached Destiny and Riley, and Anala. "You kids coming? We're doing verbs today - the fun stuff!" Soprano said. "Oh, hey Destiny! You feeling better?" Soprano asked Destiny. "This morning, I accidentally drank pure Spectra, and my mouth felt as if it was on fire! 私はばかでした！（I was an idiot!)"

For lack of anything better to say, Riley went into goofball-mode, which was the mode he was usually in anyway. "Yeah, well... the tree monsters are going to curse you so that you turn into a tree yourself! To replace the one you probably murdered!"

Destiny nods, answering his question.

 

Japanese verbs..? she thought to herself.

 

She never paid attention in any class anyway. She didn't even know the Japanese alphabet.

 

She'll just sit there and look like she's listening, but she never really was listening.

 

She heard the part where he said he drank Spectra. She vaguely remember him saying it had weird affects, but she shrugged it off.

After everything with soprano passed Star got back into his tent and got back to his book, he was not a classical book worm that enjoyed reading books, he just wanted knowledge and ways and ponies to follow. He went threw a lot, and books were to him like a treasure once he starter receiving him from his new parents after being adopted. 

 

Going out again after reading about 15 pages of a book about magical sppells he decided to leave and go get breakfast. 

 

After eating a salad and some toast he went on to catch up and join the group. Seeing Destiny and Riley by the tree he decided to go by them just to overhear what they were talking about, he prefered overhearing conversations then being part of him, but when he heard that trees had feelings and could feel pain he just couldn't stop himself from turning to the two for a second and saying. 

 

"Sorry to disappoint, but trees do not have feelings, and they do not feel pain. " [Wow, that failed, I have to stop doing repeats. @-@]

 

As he walked past Riley and Destiny he saw Soprano he gave the teacher a smile and greeted him. 

 

"Good morning, Sir. " 

 

Star had respect for teachers, and liked to call them Sir or Ma'am. Out of all the ponies he hardly ever talked to, teachers were the biggest percentage of those.  But Soprano was a teacher he hardly knew, and the main teacher he talked to was his magic arts teacher.  It was his favorite subject, and he was very good at it, possibly the reason why he is not actually bullied as much as some of the others. 

 

"May I know the plan for today, Mr. Soprano? " He asked politely.

"We're doing the Japanese class soon. It's the fun part - verbs!" Soprano said, trying to sound enthusiastic. He hated Japanese verbs. What, with the ます form, the て form and theる form and the う form... he hated them. "After it's archery, I think. I've misplaced our timetable.

"When does it start?" Destiny asked Soprano. She didn't even know what time it was now, but she was getting bored standing around.

 

The Archery class interested her. She thought she wouldn't be great at it, but she decided she'll give it a shot. She liked athletic things more than sitting in a classroom.

"I think it starts in about an hour or two." Soprano said, unsure of when it was. "But, for the time being, 私たちは日本語の勉強をします！(We study Japanese!)" Soprano said, trying to get the kids to be enthusiastic, but no avail. "Oh, come on! Japanese is fun to learn!" Soprano was really passionate about it.

Anala couldn't help but notice that Destiny also seemed interested in the archery classes. "Are you interested in doing archery too, Destiny?" she asked. "Perhaps I could give you some help. I use a bow and arrow all the time. If only I'd brought them here with me..."

Destiny nodded, "Yeah, I've never tried it before."

 

"And you can help me if you want to, I might accidentally shoot a squirrel or something...." she trailed off, hoping that wouldn't happen either.

 

But first, we have to get through Japanese class, she thought to herself.

As brash as Anala was, she couldn't stand the thought of shooting another livng creature. She decided to change the topic.

 

"I couldn't help but overhear that conversation you were having with Riley," she commented. "Perhaps we could teach him how to fight."

Destiny almost laughed at the thought. "Fighting takes focus, I don't think he has any focus," she said bluntly.

 

"He also looks a bit absent-minded, which you can't be when it comes to fighting. If you come across a pony who knows how to fight, he'll definitely see that he is and take advantage of it."

"Japanese class now? Where will it be held, or will it be held here? " He was not very enthusiastic about the Japanese class, but archery was something that he was not that good at, but he has done it before and it was fun.

But he was way more of a fencer/swordsman then a ranger. 

 

Focusing hard he lit up his horn and out of thin air appeared a notebook and pen, landing safely in his hooves. Object teleportation was not easy, especially for foals, but he trained hard and had a gift for quick learning and adapting to situations. 

 

Looking behind him once more he remembered that Destiny, Riley and Anala were still there, now at this point he just hoped that Riley wouldn't get the idea to try and talk to him since he was here and obviously not going anywhere until Soprano decided to move. The two mares didn't seem to even noticed that he was staying since they were busy talking to each other.

"I... can't really argue with that," replied Anala amiably. "I remember Nightmare Night. When we were done trick-or-treating, we sat and ate our candy. I dangled a piece in front of him with one hoof, and with the other, I took his bowl of candy from right under his nose and emptied it into my own bowl."

"Did he notice after? Did he notice at all?" Destiny asked. "But anyway, when you fight often, you learn to analyze your opponent, learn their strengths and weaknesses, and take advantage of them."

 

"I'm still a rookie though, so I still have to practice. I'm not good at it just yet."

Anala stifled a laugh. "Well, after I'd done it, he looked down to see that his bowl was empty, and he said, 'Wow, I must have eaten all of that candy quickly! You haven't even started, Anala! In fact, that stash of candy looks even bigger than it did the last time I looked!'"

Destiny laughed, "Did you ever tell him? It'd be hilarious to see the look on his face!"

 

She thought back to her last Nightmare Night but remembered she just tagged along with Skyla while she was trick-or-treating. She didn't even wear a costume or anything. She never was really festive, but hearing how much fun those two have all the time, she wondered why Skyla was still friends with her. They never did anything fun together.

Anala laughed. "Pretty darn hilarious," she agreed. Anala sometimes became annoyed with Riley's ditzy nature, but half the time, took amusement in it. "I remember when I first taught him how to use a bow and arrow. I tricked him into letting me shoot an apple off his head."

"Yeesh, he wasn't scared at all?" Destiny asked. "Maybe that's why he's so absent-minded," she snickered.

 

She didn't mean it though, she was just trying to make a joke.

 

 

She just realized she was chatting with a classmate, which almost never happened.

 

Maybe this trip isn't so bad after all.

"I doubt that's the thing that turned him absent-minded," said Anala. "He was gullible enough to fall for the prank before it happened."

 

"And after I shot the apple off his head, we got into a playfight. I was winning, until we both ended up rolling into a mudpuddle."

Destiny nodded, and noticed that she didn't get the joke. Se hated how she was misunderstood, but she got used to it.

 

She also noticed she said playfight. She never had a playfight, she took fighting too seriously.

 

"Sounds like fun," she said thoughtfully.

"Oh, you bet it was," replied Anala affably. "I remember after we saw that we were covered from head to hoof in mud, I grabbed him by the tail and galloped over to a pond so that the two of us could have a bath." She giggled a little. How reckless she had been that day.
