Quilllina simply nodded, keeping her tiny little head down. She folllowed him, scared out of her mind at him rejecting her. Trying to stay natural, she smiled and tried to keep her partner entertained, "So....do you come here often?" She suddenly went red, ashamed at the fact she was actually asking that.

He looked at her and thought about how cliche of a question it was. "If you mean Canterlot, Yes because I live here. if you mean the streets, No I rarely leave my house actually. If you couldn't tell already, I'm kinda shy" He said before asking "do you walk the streets allot?" He looked forward, his home was 10 blocks away.

[Quillina turned and she nodded. She felt so timid around him, like she'd scare him away. She looked down, "I hardly even leave the castle...and when I do its usually for Luna. I'm not exactly....sociable..." She turned back and trotted beside him. Everything seemed to slow down around them.

"I guess we have two things in common then..." Winter said with a faint smile. He wanted to keep the conversation going, He looked at her and asked "Do you have any hobbies?" He then looked at his saddle bag, hoping that nothing was damaged when he tripped earlier.

Quillina nodded, "by the way...Luna calls me Quills...if that's easier for you..." slowly moving, she nodded, "well...I'm an author, I love the beach, sunsets, and watching the moon at night and just laying there for hours...staring at it and wondering if anypony cares...." She trailed off, "you?"

"I will stick with calling you Quillina" He then whispered something before continuing "And as for my hobbies; I play Violin, I will sometimes write my own music, and sometimes when I get bored, I go outside the city and make it snow..." He said before looking at her. "wonder if anybody cares about what?" He asked.

Quillina nodded, but then she looked down. She blinked, "cares about me..." She whispered. She really seemed like she was frozen, upset and almost lost. Trying to remain calm, she looked at him, "doyoulikslongwalksonthebeach?" She asked, then blushed. Could she get any more cliche? She turned away, upset at herself.

His smile faded "I'm sure somepony cares about you,... I-i care about you..." He blushed and then heard her question "I haven't been to the beach since..." his voice began to fade, he hadn't been to the beach since his mother died. A tear ran down his cheek and he looked away from her.

Quillina turned and she pulled him close, hugging him without a though, "ssshhhh...it's all okay, it's okay..." She didn't even need to see him to know what she meant, "my parents died too...they were old and got really sick when I was a filly." She stroked is mane, "it's okay, I'm telling you I'm here now."

Winter blushed and said "Thank you for trying to comfort me... M-my mother died of some sort of cancer when I was 2... I had to live with my father until I was old enough to move out, He wasn't the best parent but he tried..." He then looked at her and said "Can we try to change the subject for now..."

She nodded and gently guided him to his residence, "Come one, let's just go ahead and go back to your place. That way we can simply relax and have some good time touring the castle?" she was whispering it, but she was quoting things. She sighed, and finally she managed to be okay.

He smiled slightly and said "okay, my house is just around the corner, and once again. Thank you for trying to comfort me, if there is a way for me to repay you for it, just ask..." His smile grew and the thought of his mother went back to the back of his mind. He then looked forward and continued walking.

After they unloaded, she smiled and asked if she was ready. After this was done, she slowly sat down outside his door, "Ready to go and kinda ready to go and get to the castle..." She sighed, not sure what to do. She wanted him to be happy. She conitnued along, happy.

Winter smiled faintly and looked at her. "I'm ready to go... but you know you could have come in" He said somewhat quietly. He smiled at her. For some reason he didn't feel as shy around her, which had never happened before. He smiled at her and said "Also thank you for inviting me..." He scratched the back of his head.

She smiled and slowly begna walking with him again, and they conitnued along their path. As they did so, she began humming the tune to Winter Wrapp up.She giggled and laughed. the song was stuck in her head, which had happened during meeting Twilight sparkle.

Winter looked at her "Whats that tune you're humming." He said with a slightly confused look. The tune sounded familiar but he couldn't put his hoof on it... He looked forward and looked at the castle in the distance and his heart began to speed up slightly. He then looked back to Quillina.

Quillina blinked, "it's something I heard Princess Twilight singing when she was visiting Luna. It was....hmm..." She thought about it and finally she opened her eyes, "Winter something." She sighed, "I wish I knew. Anyways, just go ahead and look the guards in the eye and keep walking. I'm the royal scribe, they won't stop us."

Winter began to think "The tune sounds familiar..." He said before looking forward. "so I just look the guards in the eyes..." He said before looking at the castle again. He continued to try and remember what the name of the song could be... Then it came to it, they sang the song when they were wrapping up winter last yer "Could the song be, Winter wrap up?"

Quillina nodded and she actually cracked a smile, "oh yes! I'm the scribe, so I'm near Luna a lot. I just heard that tune from Princess Twilight!" She giggled, "the only other I've heard is from two salesponies who came into Canterlot. They left after a few days."

"You have only ever heard two song! Please tell me you are kidding" Winter said before looking at her. "and if you aren't kidding, then you really have to get out more... no offense" He said. Winter looked forward and scratched the back of his head. "but seriously, tell me that you are joking..."

She blushed and she whispered, "I only leave the castle like...twice a year..." She whispered, "I-I haven't heard muc helse...I'm a writer...no treally that socialble..." She wasn't joking. In fact, Quillina was a shut in the majority of her life. She was simply not social.

"So you aren't kidding, alright I just found out how I can repay you for inviting me to the castle, later how about I show you a few songs on my violin. I'm no Mozart, but I am pretty good with it." Winter said before smiling. He began to try and remember some 'songs', three came to mind; Moonlight Sonata, Symphony 40 in G minor, and Air.

She smiled and began to hum a small tune that she'd been hearing recently. It was the tune to the song that the princesses had sang: You'll Play your part. She'd not heard the actual song, but Luna had been humming it, and thus now she was as well. She smiled and cointinued walking as they entered the moat.

All the thinking of music, caused a song that had been stuck in his head to re-surface in his mind, Brandenburg Concerto No 4, causing Winter to start quietly whistle it without noticing it. He then looked at Quillina, "Whats that your humming?" He asked as he stopped whistling.

((Oh that was a 'YES!' Moment! I'm excited!))

 

Quililna turned and she slowly nodded to the castle guard, and they managed to get inside. She had to slowly pass by one guard and finally they were inside, "Oh, it's a song that they were singing to Twilgiht I think." She shrugged, "I wasn't there. In fact I managed to escape Tirek for one sole reason: I happened to be in the middle of nowhere."
