Jazz laughed at the irony, the sound like a windchime. "Well, depends I guess." she said, grinning at him. "I do try, but nothing I do seems to make them stay." she said, her voice dropping a little as he ears flattened back against her head. Her mind flooded with memories of her childhood, where ponies would become close to her, only to leave her alone or turn on her eventually.

"Why try? If they really are your friends, they will stay around whether you like it or not. And if they do leave, it's their loss." Code said to Jazz. He watched as Jazz was starting to lay her ears back and begin to look like she was worrying about something. "Are you okay? You're not looking so good." Code asked.

Jazz shrugged. "I don't know. To fit in?" she said, questioning herself as much as she was questioning him. "I'm fine. Just... Bad memories." After a short pause, she looked straight into his eyes. "Thanks. For not leaving. And talking to me." she said, smiling so her eyes closed.  "I really appreciate it."

Code kinda felt bad about her when she asked about fitting in.  He was about to say something to try and cheer her up when he was cut short when he turned and met her gaze. Her eyes were like large amber gems. His face started to turn a light shade of red when she thanked him. "Hehe, no problem." He replied.

Jazz just laughed. "I don't know if you noticed, but you're turning red." she said, chuckling and covering her mouth slightly with a hoof so he couldn't see the teasing smirk on her lips. I wonder what I said to make him blush. she thought to herself, eventually brushing it off as just the fact that she complimented him.

When Jazz told him that he was blushing, his face turned even more red. "I'm not blushing!" He said quickly trying to defend himself while smiling. "I was just uh... Hey, have you had breakfast yet? Cause I am sure starving." He added, trying to change the subject.

Jazz just smiled knowingly, nodding sarcastically. "Yes. Of course you're not. I totally believe you." she said, smirking at his increase of blushing. His flustered state was amusing and adorable to her, and it made her happy. "Me? Breakfast?" she asked, before her stomach rudely interrupted with a loud grumble. "Uh... Yea, I'm pretty ravenous too." she chuckled, her face flushing a little.

Code heard Jazz's stomach grumble and laughed a little. "Well, that answers my question." He said to her. His face had returned to its normal color and he thought for a moment. "We could go to that cafe for breakfast. How's that sounds to you?" Code asked Jazz.

"Cafe?" Jazz asked, eyebrow quirking slightly as she considered the amount of ponies who would be there at this sort of time. She gnawed at her bottom lip, nervousness eating away at her. Eventually, the prospect of hot, delicious food made won over the fear of others, and she nodded (albeit hesitantly). "Sure."

Code waited for Jazz's answer as he read her face while she thought. She looked unsure about it and he was delighted when she said she would go. "Great." Code said with a smile. He was about to go when a thought came to his head. "Uh... Where is the cafe?" He asked her.

Jazz smiled, prepared to follow him when he asked. "Uh..." she began, looking at him, somewhat confused. "I assumed you knew! I don't go out much, so I have pretty much no chance of figuring out where it would be." she said, shrugging. "I doubt it's around here, so do you wanna take to the air or something?"

"That would probably be the best thing to do, huh?" Code asked as he jumped off the ground, spread his wings and started to hover where he is at. He honestly knew very little about Ponyville other than the house he is staying at and the market. "So, which way you wanna go first?" He asked Jazz.

"Okay... here goes..." A unicor colt was testing out a size spell. His horn glowed and he intended to fire a beam at the apple in front of him, but the magic beam ricocheted off the wall and flew into Ponyville.

Cassidy saw a beam of light speeding towards him...

 

*PAFAOW!*

 

Cassidy looked around. There were blades of grass that towered over him.

 

"Darnit, that magic beam made me tiny. Maybe I can get somepony's attention and they can help me out."

 

Cassidy hoped he wouldn't be trodden on. It would be quite an easy mistake, seeing as his fur matched the grass.

Jazz nodded, flapping her wings once and lifting off the ground. She rose steadily, and managed to reach his level without too much difficulty. "Uh... I have no idea. Maybe just..." she paused, spinning in a circle with her eyes closed and her hoof out before stopping, now pointing in a random direction. "That way?" she asked, shrugging.

Code waited as Jazz took flight and did an odd spin with her eyes closed. "That way? Alright." He replied as he flapped his wings a bit harder and started off in the direction Jazz chose. He turned around mid flight while still going the same direction and looked back at Jazz. "Don't crash now." He said jokingly, sticking out his tongue before he turned back around.

Jazz grinned, following after him without hesitation. Flapping along happily, she whistled a jaunty tune as she caught up with him. "Oi!" she exclaimed, a face of mock-hurt on her face as she placed a hoof on her heart, nudging him with her elbow. "At least you'll be there to catch me." she said, mirroring his tongue out expression.

"Hey, just because I survived the first time, doesn't make me a crash pillow." Code continued the joking. As they flew, he did a couple of lazy barrel rolls and a loop the loop. He looked down to look for the cafe and he saw a couple ponies sitting at tables outside with meals and drinks in front of them. "That Mus be the cafe." Code said as he spread his wings wide and put on immediate brakes.

Jazz gasped. "Um, yea you are!" she teased, grinning at him all the while. She watched him do a loop de loop and some fancy tricks, but decided against it, just in case. After all, the last time she had taken to the air she had plummeted to the ground not long after, so it was probably unwise to be too optimistic at this point in time. "Oh yea, looks like it." she said, her gaze travelling to where he was pointing. She stopped slowly, and carefully made her descent in lazy spirals to be safer.

When he put on the brakes and slowed almost to a stop, he leaned back all the way and dove down headfirst toward the ground, spreading his wings wide when he neared the ground to soften his landing. "So you do admit it. You were trying to kill me." Code said to Jazz as he walked over to one of the tables and took a seat.

Jazz watched in amazement as he pulled off a pretty daring landing. She would, but she had almost just died, so maybe not. She just rolled her eyes at his comment. "Pfft, of course not. That makes it sound like murder. I prefer to say it was... Accidental." she said, grinning wolfishly as she sat down opposite him. "So, whatcha gonna eat?"

Jazz sat across from him and asked what he was going to get. Code looked down and the menu and thought for a bit. "Hmm... I think I'll get the... Spinach and green bean omelette." He answered her as he looked up. "And what about you? What are you going to get?" He repeated her question.

Jazz shrugged. "I'm not sure to be honest. Never been here before so I don't know what to eat." she said rather sheepishly, choosing to leave out the fact that she had no idea what half of it was since she rarely ate out. "Probably the..." she paused, eyes flicking over the menu quickly. "The dandelion and lettuce sandwich?"

"Sounds good." Code replied when Jazz said her choice. He wass reading the menu over for things he might want to try later on. "So, what were you doing that ultimately led to you crashing into me?" Code asked Jazz as he put his menu down and looked up at Jazz.

Jazz smiled at his approval. She glanced at the drinks and the desserts/fruits, but, with her current mood, didn't find anything that tickled her fancy. "Uh... I was just going for a lazy fly." she said, slightly embarrassed. A blush dusted her cheeks as she became self-conscious again, and she looked away to try to hide it.

Code chuckled a little at Jazz's answer to him. "If that was just a lazy flight, I would be terrified to see what you do for a fun and exciting flight." Code said. After saying that, a waiter came and asked for their orders and he replied with what he was going to get.
