*Blue looked at the clock in the local game and Hobby shop, where he worked, and saw it was half past noon, his lunch hour. He went into the back room and grabbed his light blue hoodie* "I'm going out for my lunch hour Dungeon!" *He called to his manager, Dungeon Master. He then walked out of 'DM's Game and Hobby Shop' and headed towards the local market, to hopefully find himself some lunch* "Hmm, maybe something sweet?" *He thought to himself, as he entered the market. After awhile of wandering around, he found himself in the floral section of the market.* "Maybe I should pick something up from Lily or Roseluck, my house has been looking pretty dull" *He thought to himself, not paying attention to where he was going while looking around at the shops, and accidentally hitting a light post and falling back onto his back in front of a flower stand run by a green mare unicorn*

Emerald Shine was not a very outgoing unicorn. Sure, she was funny and had friends, but she lacked social skills that made it awkward around other ponies. This, it could be said she was a pure introvert, despite having a constant smile and loving to talk to ponies. It was almost paradoxically fabricated.

 

She yelped when he slammed down in front of her store, and her tongue twisted deep inside her throat. She blinked in rapid succession before finally registering he was actually there. Then she slowly walked outside the shop and slowly hoofed him up. But she couldn't speak, for she was unable to form the words.

*As he steadied himself on his legs, he shook his head, with his hair and hoodie flapping against his face, to clear up his vision. He ruffled his wings to see if he hadn't landed on the wrong, and he didn't. He then looked at the unicorn in front of him who had helped him up. He had seen her around before, but never actually talked to her or saw her up close. She was quite pretty close up, in comparison to looking from afar* "Gah, I have to thank her! What was her name? Emerald... Emerald something. Ah forget it, I'm just going to take a shot" *He though to himself.* "Oh um, thanks Emerald. I probably should have watched where was going, heh." *He chuckled, while facehoofing mentally.*

The long blinked, hearing he name come out from his lips. The fact he actually knew her name was something that took her off guard more so than most of the surprises the town encountered daily. She had to take a few moments to register this development before her lips moved once more.

 

"Y-you're quite welcome." She commented, her smile starting to form. Inside her head, she began thinking, how does know me? Why? "Well...I see...You already know my name!" She chuckled awkwardly, "I-I'm Emerald Shine...wait...ack! You already know that!" She face-hoofed in he head.

*He chuckles nervously* "Heh, yeah, I know who mostly everyone, but I just like to keep to myself most of the time. That's not weird is it?" *He instantly wish he had a desk to smack his muzzle on, why did he say that!?* "Anyways, my name is Blue, nice to officially meet you." *He said sheepishly, while holding out his hoof, trying to advert the topic from the line he had just said before.*

Despite the fact that he'd said that line, Emerald wasn't thinkign about that. The main thing on her mind was trying to figure out another reply. When she was alone or with friends, she couldn't be told to be quiet. But now, with a pony near her and trying to make conversation, she was drawing up blanks. She scratched hte back of her neck before she extended her hoof, shaking his, "It's nice to meet you too." she smiled, then asked, "How are you?"

*He thought about that for a second.* "A bit tired, a bit shaken up and-" *He started but was interrupted be a growl that came from his stomach. He then wrapped a hoof around his barrel and blushed* Heh, a bit hungry too. I'm actually on my lunch hour. I was looking for something to eat at the market, but I found myself in the floral section," *He chuckled awkwardly* "Yeah, I tend to find myself drifting off and not paying attention." *He then remembered that he had someone with him* "Oh, I'm terribly sorry, I tend to ramble on. And how are you today?" *He said, cursing internally for his rambling*

Emerald was still working on her own response as he spoke. She was scared to do anything that could make him go away, and so she was begin very careful about how she worded everything. She continued to listen to him, and her mind was going wild with the possibiliteis of what to say. Without direction, her mind began to wander off as well.

When he finished, she shook her head and smiled back at him, "Heh...yeah that's happened to me before." She blushed, then thought of somewhere, anywhere she could go. She thought fast and rapid, until finally she whispered, "Well...the Hay Burger is always open on these sorts of days."

*Despite being a whisper, Blue could still hear what she said, he had his fair share of quietness so he whispered to others sometimes.* "The Hay Burger, huh?" *He pondered on the idea of the restaurant, he had heard of it before, but never went to it, preferring some sort of food bought from the market.* "I guess I could always try something new. And since I have no company, would you like to accompany me?"

Why did he want me to come? She thought quickly, her mind racing as she thought of it. The Hay Burger was a fast-food esque restaurant, but it was still good fare for a pony. She nodded to him, but she still wasn't sure why it was that he even wanted Her to come along. It wasn't like she was a nice pony or even one that was remotely well konwn. In fact, she was more of the type ot pass by on the street. But she nodded to him a second time to reassure him.

"Great!" *He said, turning around and walking off, and then he realized he didn't know where the restaurant was, and turned around and walked back up to Emerald, blushing.* "Uh, heh, where is it?" *He asked, feeling idiotic for about to take off without knowing where to go.*

Emerald smiled to him and she gently began to tap his shoulder, "Go towards town hall, take a left at Quills and Sofas, then pass the Joke Shop, and end off by the bowling alley, it's just across from there." She instantly began worrying, I hope he didn't think that was smart-pony talk! Arguh! "Is-is that okay?"

"Yup!" *He responded with a smile* "Alright then let's go!" *He said cheerfully, as he started to walk off towards town hall and then stopped when his stomach growled again* "Heh, maybe we should get there before my stomach decides to eat itself." *He laughed before starting off again*

She thought quickly about how to talk to him inside, but she was there before she had time to prepare her conversation. She'd have to wing it, and winging it was when she was normally unable to speak to anypony at all.

"Y-yeah let's go in!"

*As they entered, he saw that there was a short line of ponies there already* "Oh thank Celestia. I really didn't want to wait forever, I gotta get back to work at some point." *He chuckled. He then looked over at Emerald Shine.* "Feel free to get anything you want, I'll be pay for it." *He offered with a generous smile.*

Emerald nodded and jumped in line with him, blinking at the menu. She ought about getting the hay burger, but then she began thinking he could see her as vulgar. She blinked rapidly, smiling to mask her internal struggle. She turned looked at him and whispered, "I'd recommend the simple hay burger..."

((Ah, don't worry about it, I understand, if it were me with the connection issues, I'd be gone for about a week and a half XD))

 

"She's a quiet one isn't she." *He thought to himself, smiling internally. He then remembered he was not in his mind, but at a restaurant* "Well, seeing that you've been here before, I'll take your word for it!" *He said finally aloud. The line moved quickly, and he then walked up to the counter and placed their order. After receiving their order number, #210, he walked back up to Emerald.* "Let's go find a seat to wait for our order." *He said while pocketing the receipt with their order on it into one of his jacket pockets.*

She was a little nervous, as he was going to to probably unnerve her. She was scared of messing up. Saying something that didn't fit. Saying something that was, Celestia forbid, embarassing. She was scared he'd leave her be and she wouldn't get to talk to him. So she was trying her hardest to entertain him, "W-well thank you...you really didn't have to do that..."

"Oh don't worry about it, it's the least I could do. I mean, you didn't have to come with me, yet you did" *He replied with a soft smile and chuckle.* "I like to give to others, makes me feel as if I've done something nice." *They then arrived at a little booth next to a window.* "Mind if we sit here? I prefer window seats, plus it's a nice day outside!"

Smiling, she sat down without another thought. She groaned as she got comfortable and finally looked at him with a curios expression, "really? I thought that you wouldn't go with me..." She smiled weakly, then blushed, "sorry..." She had no idea what she was apologizing for, hut it felt appropriate.

* He sat down across from her* "Oh it's alright. Well seeing as it was me who invited, I'd say I thought you wouldn't come with me. It's not everyday you go have lunch with someone you just met over something as them hitting a light post." *He laughed. Then there was a brief silence, and then an idea sprung into his head.* "So Emerald Shine, tell me a little about yourself."

Blinking, Emerald groaned inwardly. She was completely encompassed by her own fear, scared our of her mind. She looked down, "uh...Well I'm...Emerald Shine...I run that flower shop...there's not anything else that I think there is to say." She sighed, not sure what to do.

"Hmm, she's very shy." *He commented internally* "There's probably a reason, but I feel as if I shouldn't-" *His thought was interrupted by the sound of a stallion about his age shouting from behind the counter.* "Number two ten!" *The stallion shouted.* "Oh, there's our number, I'll go get that." *He said to Emerald, as he got up and went to go retrieve the food.*

Emerald was nervous about opening up. She was scared about what was going to happen, for she didn't want to reveal why it was she was shy. She looked down and was scared, trying to think about what to say when he got back. She shook, nervous. She was even more nervous than normal.

*He came back with the tray in his hooves while his wings were keeping him only a few inches off the ground.* "And here we are, two hay burgers." *He said as he set the tray down on the table. He then looked over at Emerald and something seemed a bit out of place.* Hey, are you doing ok? You seemed a bit distressed."
