-The Following Day-

 

*Blue opened his eyes, realizing he woke up, and frantically looked at his clock.* "7:30, good." *He said. He then got up, and went to his kitchen and got himself some cereal. On his table was an empty vase.* "Hmm,probably should get something to put in that." *He said as he ate his cereal in the silence in his own home. It would not only get some color in the house, but also gave him a reason to go see Emerald. He then grabbed his jacket and tucked the empty vase under his wing and headed off to work.*

Emerald spat out her little hairs and hadn't slept a wink. She grunted and wiped some more stray hair out of her mouth. She smiled and finally managed to do her hair up, but still looked like she hadn't slept a single little wink. She sighed and leaned against her counter, half asleep.

*The time ticked on by, and it was his lunch hour again. He grabbed the vase he had with him, and trotted out the door. He made his way towards Emerald Shine's shop, where he saw her nearly asleep. He clicked his tongue.* "The poor thing, it looks like she isn't sleeping at all." *He said to himself. He then walked up to the counter.* "Um, Emerald?"

Emerald yelled and fell backwards, shaking. She looked up and saw him, and blinked the sleep from her. She stood up, "heya." She groaned, unable to really focus by this point, "How are you?" She waved a tired hoof around, "Do you wnat.......any flowers.....?" She suddenly slid onto the desk, moaning. She hadn't slept in four days.

"Woah! Are you alright?" *He asked, with his voice full of concern, completely ignoring the reason he had came here, placing the vase on the counter.* "What's happened? You look like you haven't slept in the past few days! You look like you're about to pass out from complete exhaustion!" *He continued, noticing the increasing darkness in the bags under eyes.*

She looked up and was unable to speak for a few seconds. She blinked rapidly and she muttered, "I-I haven't." Why was she saying this? Why was she tellin ga stallion all this? She started crying, "I cvan't sleep. I haven't. I haven't in four days. I feel sick. I feel like I'm gonna die."

"Sweet Celestia! Four days!?" *He exclaimed.* "That's not good, you need some sleep, and if not sleep, at least some rest! You can't be running this shop with 96 hours of no sleep! Come on, we need to get you in bed to sleep, and if not just some rest." *He said, moving behind the counter, but not laying a hoof on her, unless she needed any help.*

Moaning, Emerald grunted her way up into the staircase. She collapsed and didn't move again, so tired she really couldn't think about it. She sighed and shut her eyes tightly, feeling like she wanted to. Then the stallion came to her agani. Everything hurt. And she was opening them once more.

"Emerald!" *Blue exclaimed, as he rushed towards the staircase to see if she was alright.* "Are you alright? Do you need any help up? Did you hurt anything?" *He asked frantically, checking to see if she was ok from her collapsing on the staircase.* "This insomnia has really taken a toll on your body, Emerald, what's causing this?"

Emerald moaned and couldn't do anything. she shut her eyes harder and started crying, "I-I can't tell you!" She banged her head on the wall to try and sleep. She couldn't. His face was there. It was scaring her. She yelled out into the stairs and finally just laid there, sobbing.

*Blue couldn't believe what he was seeing. Insomnia, emotional distress, can't feel as if she can tell anyone. It then clicked in his head, but he didn't how to ask so he though of the best way possible. He then climbed up, and sat next to the sobbing mare.* "Was it..." *He gulped.* "Was it something that somepony did to you?" *He asked, hoping he had asked the right question.*

she looked up and nodded, shaking a little bit. She leaned against the wall away from him. Stallions were evil. They thoguht with their sexual lust-driven heads. They didn't care for what they thought. She nodded dully, but wasn't sure what to say. How could she say it?

*Seeing it was somepony else that caused her distress, he then thought of the possible thing that happened. Fight with a friend? Argument with parents? Or... He noticed the way she was leaning away from him.* "Stallion issues?" *He though to himself. He wasn't sure, so he decided to ask something else.* "Do you..." *He began.* "Do you want to talk about it? I always found letting it all out made me feel better if I had serious things on my mind."

She whispered, "he ruined it. He ruined it all. He ruined everything." She whispered, looking down. She whispered, "he went by a lot of names.......I called him High Roller." She knew he had thirty names, but she decided to go with that. But then sobs broke out and she sobbed hard.

"So it was stallion troubles." *He thought to himself, confirming his suspicions. He then needed a way to console her, but refrain from touch, which seemed like a really bad idea right now. He let the distressed mare sob a little before asking his next question.* "And what did this 'High Roller' do, or ruin?"

She suddenly wailed harder and hugged herself tightly, not willing to share all that. It was too painful. It wasn't just some simple stallion issues. No, it was dark. It wasn't just her being dramatic. She couldn't speak, she just couldn't. She was too upset about it and was just simply done.

*He winced as she started to sob harder, and from the looks of it, she didn't walk to talk about what this stallion had done.* "It probably was extremely traumatic if it caused her to lose 4 days of sleep." *He thought to himself. He just sat there, not knowing what else to say or do other then to let her cry it all out.*

Blinking, she looked at him and didn't know what to do anymore. She shook harder as she tried to drag herself up the stairs. She couldn't do it. It hurt so much. It was so hard to move her body. She couldn't get up the stairs. She cried even harder. Everything was gone.

*He was frantically trying out different scenarios in his head,trying to figure out what would be the best option here. He had never handled a situation like this before so he was completely clueless on what to do and with a sensitive situation, he did not want to screw up. Seeing her shake and trying to pull herself up, he said the one thing he could think of.* "Would you... Would you like some help up?" *He would probably regret asking, but it was the only thing he could come up with.*

She looked up and nodded, whispering, "c-could you carry me?" She hated having to do this. But she couldn't move up the stairs even if she tried. She groaned and slowly lifted her head up to face him, extending her hoof, "plead? I-I wanna....wanna be in my bed." She moaned.

*He was taken aback on her compliance with being carried, he thought she wouldn't agree. He nodded slowly and started hovering a little above the stairs, then placed his front hooves under her barrel so she was lying horizontally and lifted carefully. As she was lifted, he started to flap his wings a little harder to support her weight, and then flew up the rest of the stairs carefully, and looked through the rooms, until he found one with a single bed. He flew in and laid her down gently on the bed and landed himself.*

Emerald smiled and hugged her pillow, shaking. She looked at him with a shaky gaze and shook with a little bit of fear, "what I'm g-going to tell you...You can't repeat to anypony. Swear to me that you won't tell anypony o-or I-I won't tell you anything." She growled.

*From the sound of her voice and what she had said, it showed she was dead serious, but either way, he wasn't going to tell anyone, who would he tell anyways? He then held up his hoof.* "I swear I won't repeat a word, what is said here, stays here." *He replied softly.*
