Everleaf 542 September 10, 2014 Share September 10, 2014 well should they? me and a friend of mine back on DA thought up a little headcanon They live upon the frozen north behond Equestria upon iceland they lived in groups traveling this type thanks to the fact of no food in the cold apart from meats which they could not eat they could not eat but instead drink molten snow/ice and thanks to their antlers they absorb energy from the sun in lifespan they live slightly shorter than the average pony thanks to the snow and ice the race Do hibernate as when the sun is not around meaning they can't so use it... however sadly soon they became extinct thanks to the lack of food and it soon became too cold so sadly they had been lost.... (sorry it's highlighted I had to copy and past a word which I forgotten how to spell X3) however it IS possible they still live today...hoofprints over the Crystal empire brown fur sometimes lying in the deep snow.... do you think they should be canon or are they too dark or not fit for the show? myself I would find it quite interesting...how about you guys... 1 The deepest of the Everfree! Princess Lona 382 September 11, 2014 Share September 11, 2014 (edited) I think they sound cool. I think the near extinction of the race is a bit dark for the show as it is now, but they should certainly keep the mysterious vibe. They could be like yeti. I love the photosynthesising antlers idea too! Edited September 11, 2014 by Princess Lona My OC, Tabula.

Yeah the stuff about their extinchion is pretty dark however it could possibly be a mystery of how they had vanished from Equestria and glad you like the idea. The deepest of the Everfree! MasterCombine 316 September 11, 2014 Share September 11, 2014 (edited) Seeing as my headcanon involves the existence of other species/races beyond Equestria (eg. cervids, caprids, camels, and more), no, I don't think reindeer ponies should be canon. But reindeer should be Because reindeer are cervids, I imagine (again, in my headcanon) that they and moose originate from a wintery island off the coast of the cervid's home subcontinent, far to the southeast of Equestria and closer to the planet's southern pole. Thought it might be realistic to imagine that crossbreeds exist, so I'm sure reindeer/pony hybrids could be a thing (forgetting real world genetic limitations since, after all, this is a magical world). M'aiq the Liar 5,804 September 11, 2014 Share September 11, 2014 Well, we already had sapient buffalo, and goats so seeing raindeer would not be that far out of an idea. If I remember correctly, all Equine genus animals are confirmed to be sapient according to Faust (or perhaps it was all solid hooved? I cannot find the quote). So seeing raindeer/nordic ponies wouldn't be to much of a streach to see different speices of pony like that. 1 http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/vera-yeoman-r5921Muh pleb tier OC .http://mlpforums.com/blog/1663/entry-12477-pony-waifu-wedding-13-maiq-x-fleetfoot/ MLP forum's #1 Fleetfoot fan also married to fleetfoot <
Planty 1,053 September 11, 2014 Share September 11, 2014 It would make a lovely christmas episode, and it definitely fits with everything else in the show I would have no issues so long as they added them well !
