Destiny continued to try to pull away from him.

 

Please, I don't want to be near a huge party. Don't you notice I'm shaking? My anxiety hasn't been this bad in a long time.

 

"Please, I don't want to join," she quietly pleaded. She usually acted tough and hardy, but she was on the verge of a breakdown.

"Fine." Renegade sighed, before going back to the box. "If you want to stay in the box, that's fine by me." He went inside the box with Destiny. "You know, this could make a nice house." Renegade looked at a dollhouse that he assumed to be Ken's, and had an idea. "Let's make this box into a house. For the two of us."

"A-alright," Destiny said, trying to calm down little. She stopped shaking but she was still stumbling and stuttering on her words.

 

"How would we c-cut out the windows though? The scissors are too b-big to handle."

 

A cardboard pony house would be better than sitting in a toy bin.

Renegade sat on his haunches, thinking about what Destiny had said. Placing a hoof to his chin, he thought about it for a minute. "We might be able to ask one of the toys who lives here." 

 

...And that's when the Chatter Telephone rolled by. Thrusting the red phone reciever off his back, Chatter rolled over to Renegade as a voice came out of the phone. "I see you're having a bit of trouble figuring out how to build your home. Maybe I could help."

Oh Celestia that phone is really creepy.

 

Destiny was fine when the phone rolled up.

 

But who's on the other end of the receiver? Probably some toy who's been stalking us since we got here.

 

She didn't say anything to them, only watched. She looked at Renegade to see if he would answer the phone.

Renegade was surprised by the phone as well. "Who are you? Are you some random toy?"

 

The phone sighed. "Listen, buddy, I'm the oldest toy in the place. Been manufactured since 1962. Now do you want help building you and your girlfriend's house, or not?" Renegade nodded. "Then do exactly as I tell you."

I have a bad feeling about this. And since when did we become a couple?

 

Destiny walked up to Renegade and whispered in his ear so the phone couldn't hear, "I have a bad feeling about this. Wouldn't he be standing in front of us if he actually wanted to help us?"

The phone, of course, could hear her. "I'm standing right in front of you." the phone said. "Now, as I was saying, I can help you build your home...if you follow my instructions exactly. One slip-up, and it's all over." Renegade looked at Destiny. "Should we trust him?" he asked.

Destiny shook her head. "Wouldn't he be in front of us if he wanted to help?" she restated. "And why would one slip-up make it all over. It's a cardboard box for Celestia's sake. It's not like it's a bomb."

 

Seriously. Either this guy is crazy, or he has some evil plot and needs ponies to do it.

The phone sighed in frustration. And then it dawned on Renegade. "Destiny...the phone is the guy." The phone looked at Destiny. "True, but those scissors are mighty big. One slip up, and your plastic horse-y head will come clean off." he said. "Now, follow my directions so that won't happen. OK?"

"Oh, oh alright," Destiny said, processing that the phone is actually trying to help.

 

"We should get a marker to mark where the windows are first..." she said, looking up at a table a few feet in front of them. She looked and saw that the Furbies were still partying.

Renegade walked over to the table, and struggled to get onto it. Eventually, he did get on and used his hooves to get a marker or two. He got down, and used the markers to mark where the windows would be. "Now, you're gonna need those scissors, but be careful." Chatter Phone advised. Renegade did as the phone said.

"I can start making furniture," Destiny said. "What do you want me to make? Maybe a couch, a couple chairs, a table, and two beds?" she asked.

 

It could used a little color as well but the furniture and the windows come first. But I need to find a material to make the furniture out of as well.

"No need to make furniture. Ken's got some extra stuff he doesn't need." The telephone rolled away for a few minutes, then came back with some plastic furniture. "Here ya go. No need to thank me." Renegade smiled at the old-timer's kind gesture. "That's very kind of you, Mr. Telephone." the unicorn said.

Destiny nodded, and went to setting up the table and the couch. She took a few steps back to confirm they were even against the wall, and fixed the crooked chairs.

 

"After you're done with the windows, do you want to set up the rest of the furniture?" she asked Renegade.

Renegade nodded as he began cutting off pieces of cardboard. After cutting off the cardboard to make the windows, Renegade went into the box to help Destiny with the furniture. "Hmmmm...where should I put this double bed?" he asked Destiny. "This house is looking good so far."

"Maybe in the back left corner?" Destiny asked, pointing to the free corner away from the entrance.

 

"And yeah, it's looking pretty good," she said, admiring their work.

 

It looks more comfortable and cozy than being stuffed in the toy box at our old owner's home.

Renegade moved the bed into said corner, then looked around. "What do you think we should do about the roof?" he asked. Then he facehoofed before exiting the box and gluing the box flaps into the shape of a roof. He then went back inside the house, proud of his handiwork.

"Do you think we should give it some color sometime?" Destiny asked. "If so, what color would you want it to be?"

 

I'd want it to have a red roof and white walls.

 

 

She looked outside, and looked up at the window. She went back inside and sat down, finally comfortable after a day of being stressed.

"Hmmm...how about a red roof and white walls?" Renegade suggested, sitting down next to his friend. "I think this will be a new beginning for all of us. Don't you think?" he asked Destiny, giving a small smile. For him and Destiny, it would be a new start. (Timeskip?)

Destiny nodded to the color suggestions. "Maybe it will be a new start," she said, giving him a small smile back.

 

I hope so. And hopefully, I'll get rid of this stupid social anxiety that causes nothing but trouble for me and everypony around me.

 

(Yeah, a timeskip is fine by me.)

ZE NEXT DAY...

 

Renegade yawned as he got out of bed. Walking out of the cardboard house, he looked around the Butterfly Room. "Wow...the Furbies must have had a crazy time yesterday." he said to himself, chuckling a bit. He went back inside to spend some time with Destiny.

Destiny sat up and stretched, yawning as she woke up. "'Morning," she mumbled sleepily. She got up out of bed, stretching her legs, and went to sit down on the couch.

 

At least I'm getting somewhat comfortable here. I had a good night's sleep. I slept like a log on a rock.

Renegade sat down on the couch next to Destiny, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "So...how was your sleep?" he asked his roomie. "Do you like the house?" he asked. "Personally, I love it. But not as much I love you." Renegade snuggled up to Destiny. "It's better than being in a toy box all day."

"I agree," Destiny said. "And I had a good night's sleep," she said.

 

"I love the house too. It's comfortable and not cramped and stuffy like the toybox."

 

I actually feel at ease and stress free. It's pretty relaxing.

 

Destiny relaxed a little, sitting in a more comfortable position on the couch.
