Sugarcube Corner. The "arranged" meeting place.

 

Riley parked his fuzzy rear at a table and wondered about the identity of the mysterious person who had sent him a letter telling him to meet up at Sugarcube Corner. He hoped it wasn't a pony wanting to date him...

 

He sucked on some sugar cubes whilst he waited.

From above Sugarcube Corner, Discord chuckled as he snapped his fingers teleporting himself and Riley to a large grassy plain with a large rainbow splattered sky. Discord looked up at Riley from the table where he had appeared, sipping tea with Fluttershy and Angel bunny "Why Riley, so kind of you to make it to our little tea party..." Discord drawled with a grin. "Why don't you come and take a seat?"

 

(OOC: I figured an idea where Fluttershy wanted a tea party and Discord set it up wouldn't be too far fetched.... Unless it is a bad idea to you, i which case I will promptly hit it with an idea mallet. )

'Whoa, Discord! And it's a land of rainbows... I like rainbows. I should come here more often. Of course, I'll need directions first.'

 

"Oh, um... hello, Discord," greeted Riley. He smiled. "I feel quite honoured that you chose to invite me to your little get-together."

 

He looked at Fluttershy and Angel Bunny. "Hello, you two!" he said, waving.

Discord waved off his thanks flippantly. "Yes, yes, of course." He said.

"H-hi..." Fluttershy quietly greeted, peeking out from behind her mane. Angel briefly looked up from his salad and waved one of his ears at Riley.

"Why in fact, I should be thanking you Riley." Discord drawled from where he had appeared behind Riley, looking over his shoulder. "Fluttershy wanted a tea-party, but her friends where all oh so busy..." He started dramatically, a claw to his forehead.

He dropped the dramatic pose and switched into a stage whisper. "I would have invited that fellow Storm Shine as well, wonderfully chaotic being that he is, but alas-" He moved back into his pose. "The poor stallion was roped into helping his friends, and had to decline as well. So, I thought to myself 'Who do I know, that would be chaotic enough to invite without scaring Fluttershy?' " He continued, as he appeared in a picture frame of a velvet seat in front of a fireplace (conveniently place on a nearby tree.) sitting with a bubble pipe.

"And I realized the answer! Riley!" He said snapping his fingers and disappearing from the frame. "Riley could be a fun fellow to have at a tea-party, now couldn't he?" Discord asked, now looking to be part of the ground below his hooves. "And so, here you are! Here in a pocket dimension tea-party, for the enjoyment of my dear Fluttershy.." He exclaimed, now back at the table hugging Fluttershy.

"Cool!" said Riley, rubbing his hooves in anticipation. "So, is there any tea? Because you can't have a tea party without tea! And you also can't have a tea party without a party! Are there any balloons? Huh? And refreshments?" he said with excitement clear in his voice.

"Of course! Don't you see them?" Discord asked. "Hmm, your eyes must be having problems then.." He mused, suddenly garbed in a doctors outfit. "Here let's have a look-see." Discord placed a claw over Riley's eyes blocking his vision. "And viola!" He exclaimed, pulling his claw away to reveal the many balloons and decorations. As well as the food like cake and muffins and chips and salsa, not to mention the drinks, like the lemonade coming from the fountain shaped like Discord next to the fruit-punch fountain of Fluttershy.

 

"And of course, if you'll look over there.." Discord drawled, pointing. "You'll see the Chocolate fountain!" He said, pointing at a sculpture that looked like Anala. "And the the White-Chocolate fountain." Discord pointed next to the chocolate fountain at the one shaped like Riley. "Now if you'll excuse me a minute." He said. "I'm going to go dive into the cherry gelatin." Discord informed Riley, before turning around and diving into the pool of cherry gelatin. Behind the giant pool, Three Discords sitting behind a table pulled out ten cards while a fourth Discord pulled a nine and a half.

"You boys have fun with that!" called Riley, and he went to get some refreshments.

 

First stop, the scultpures of him, and the mare of his dreams. He held his open mouth under one fountain, then the other, and swallowed. "Wow, these are amazing, Mister Discord!" he said.

 

"The spikes at the front of my mane, the plump booty perfect for shakin'... awesome!" he said in admiration of his sculpture.

 

Now for Anala's.

 

She was in a good pose. That being, on her hind legs, and ready to use her trusty bow and arrow.

 

"So... do you know Anala Elderberry as well, whichever Discord is the real one?" he asked.

Discord popped up from Fluttershy's mane. "Oh I've met her a few times here and there." He said, waving his claw. "But she helped Fluttershy with a few things here and there, so she's got my approval!" Discord exclaimed, hammering a sign into the ground in front of the Anala statue that said 'Discord approved!'

 

"I would have invited her of course, but she has work to do.." He drawled with a sigh from the image of himself on the sign. "And Fluttershy would be absolutely devastated if I were to inconvenience Anala for her sake..." The image declared dramatically, leaning backwards with his paw to his forehead.

"I see," said Riley. "Just today she caught the train to go somewhere for an archery tournament. If you plucked her out now, it would be rather awkward..."

 

A group of ponies walked by dancing in a Mexicoltan Conga line. "Awkward awkward awkward! Awkward awkward awkward!" they sang.

As Anala sat on the sidelines waiting for her turn, she wondered if Riley had gotten himself into yet another peculiar situation, be it good or bad.

 

'Nah, I'm sure things are going normal for him.'

"Oh definitely!" Discord agreed from his place at the back of the Mexicoltan conga. "Though I'm confidant she'll win that tournament! First prize is going to be pretty good! Though second prize is a handsome devil if I do say so myself!" He called from the gelatin pool.

 

~~Meanwhile~~

In the archery tournament prize closet, a Discord lamp twinkles innocently on the second prize stand.

"I'm confident she'll win too!" said Riley. "I know she'll win, in fact! And there'll be a big parade for her! And I'll have my mom bake her some cookies when she gets home! Well, that last part will be difficult, because my mom doesn't really like her..."

An announcement sounded over the intercom: "Attention shooters. The contest is postponed until tomorrow. Please return to your dorms."

 

Anala sighed and walked off. 'Great. Unless Discord appears and takes me to one of his super-magical-crazy-fun tea parties, looks like I've got another day of boredom.'

"Oh what's not to like?" Discord questioned, before smiling. "Ah then again, maybe I'm biased because she helped Fluttershy.." He said, before his eyes twinkled mischievously. "Oh well... Hey, would you look at that.. Anala's contest has been for a completely unknown reason with no influence whatsoever, been spontaneously postponed until tomorrow.." Discord drawled, acting much too innocent, snapping his tail-fingers as Anala appeared behind Riley.

One minute, Anala had been walking to her dorm room with no idea of how she would spend the rest of her day, and the next, she was in a grassland with a rainbow sky. 

 

"Where am I?" she asked. "Riley? Do you know where we are?"

 

She noticed a certain draconequus. "Discord?!"

"Oh hello Anala! Fancy seeing you here.. FORE!" Discord greeted from the large hill he was on, before swinging his golf club. "Aw shucks, a little too far left.." He muttered, as the crowd of Discords on the bench cheered for the next Discord Walking up. Discord number 2 walked over and put down the ball. He swung! "AAANNDD IT'S A HOLE IN ONE FOLKS! WHAT A SWING!" The announcer Discord yelled through the megaphone. "How will his opponent make a recovery?" He asked the microphone.

Anala rolled her eyes at the display. "Whatevs. I dunno about my friend here, but I wanna get back to my own world."

 

She turned to the Discords. "You! Whichever one of you is the real Discord!" she called. "If you send me back to my own world now, I might not tell Princess Celestia that you teleported me here against my will."

 

Riley frowned. 'Why is she being so mean? Discord is a good guy now!'

a golfball rolled into a hole next to them, before rising up to reveal Discord. "Oh come, come now Anala.. No need to be so rude, I just thought you would like to join us for poor Fluttershy's tea-party..." He drawled. "Besides that, I figured that you and Riley could have a nice chat." Discord said, pulling them both into a hug. "Plus, it's not like you were doing anything anyways..." He deadpanned, dropping them.

"So what?" snapped Anala, pushing Discord to release her from the hug. "Let's say that I have an old, rotting bow in my cupboard, which hasn't been used in years. I still didn't give you permission to take it. Hay, you might even save me dumping fees if I wanted to dispose of it. You still have no right to take it."

 

"And I'd be happy to have a nice chat with you, Riley - when we're back in normal-people-land."

 

"Um, Anala, perhaps it's not such a good idea to be so insulting towards the God of Chaos..." pointed out Riley.

 

"He's not gonna hurt me. Unless he wants Fluttershy over there to decide that he's had one chance too many and abandon their friendship."

"Well now, that just hurts you know..." Discord said, acting hurt. "Right here..." He held up a paper heart.

 

"I was just trying to help.. if the thanks I get for attempting to help you, is blackmail with me and Fluttershy's friendship on the line... Then I can see why Riley's mother doesn't like you after all." Discord said, turning away from Anala and crossing his arms.

"That's almost like me blackmailing you with the idea of making your friends and family lose all memories of you, or taking away your archery skills.." He huffed.

Anala took the paper heart. "Thanks, I was running out of toilet paper," she said.

 

Fluttershy, meanwhile, had begun to sob with her face buried in the grass. "Bully," she whispered. coldly.

 

"Oh I'm so hurt somepony heal my shattered pride and protect me from this monster," said Anala in mock fear whilst holding a hoof to her head.

"Look, I've been nothing but nice to you! I've done nothing wrong, and yet you're still acting like this?!" Discord exclaimed, throwing his arms up, before pointing at Fluttershy. "For heavens sake, look! You made Fluttershy cry! And you're calling me a monster?!?" He asked in disbelief.

 

"I don't know what your problem is, but you've gone and plummeted yourself straight from the 'Discord approved pony' list right down to the 'I genuinely dislike this pony' one! And let me tell you, it takes a lot to get there!" Discord told Anala heatedly. "Princess Celestia never even got onto that list, and she sealed me into a constricting stone prison with an itchy nose, FOR A THOUSAND YEARS!" He informed her, raising his voice at the end.

"You deserved it," said Anala. "When Queen Chrysalis attacked with her army of Changelings, at least she needed the energy to feed her people. You wanted to destroy Harmony and create Chaos just for fun!"

 

"And when Fluttershy finally thought you were a changed person, you turn around and lock her in a cage because you'd made a deal with another force of evil!"

 

"You should have been executed," she muttered. A horrified look washed over Riley's face.

Discord's face lost all emotion. "Yes, I did do those things.. Maybe I should have been executed... But it's hard to be friends with somepony, and to trust them... When you've lived for thousands of years, without even knowing what friendship truly was..." He stated tonelessly. "Thousands of years of life and wisdom, and yet... It's also thousands of years of boredom and loneliness... It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks, after all..." Discord continued, floating away slowly.

Anala had a smug grin on her face. "Good. Now get me out."

 

"Hold everything," said Riley sternly. He went up to Anala. "Miss Elderberry, let's you and I have a talk."

"Can't you see that Discord is feeling sorry for all those things he did?! All he's trying to do is make ponies happy. And then when you come in, even if not by your own volition, you make Fluttershy cry, and wish death upon him. That, in my opinion, is the worst, most evil insult anypony could ever give."

 

"He's friends with the Element of freakin' Kindness! That should be proof enough that he's a changed person."

 

"You know what? I'm tired of being your mindless lackey. I can see clearly now that you are a vile, cruel, sadistic, evil pony."

 

Anala shrugged. "Fine. Now that we're not friends anymore, I won't need to come and rescue you every week from whatever idiotic bind you've gotten yourself into."

Discord frowned. "Well that, that's just downright cruel Anala.. Fine, leave. You've just about spoiled this party anyway..." He said and snapped his claw, teleporting her a couple miles away from the Archery Competition.

 

"Sorry about that Riley, Fluttershy... I- I'm going to go lie down.. Over there I guess..." Discord told them, floating over to a tree and laying on the ground in front of it.

 

Discord sat there, remembering the many wrongs he committed during his long life... He sat there wishing he had met somepony like Fluttershy sooner, somepony to show him what kindness and friendship really was... "It makes sense you know..." Discord started. "I have done some terrible things... Things that make others hate or fear me.. I'm sorry Fluttershy.. Sorry for wrecking your tea-party..."

Riley sighed. He and Fluttershy wrapped their wings around each other.

Anala plodded along on her way back to the dorm. She stopped, just standing there for a few seconds, before she allowed a few tears tol roll down her cheeks.
