GuillermoGage 246 November 14, 2014 Share November 14, 2014 (edited) I have decided to make a thread where people can openly talk about things that they want to be accomplishing in life, especially little daily accomplishment tasks such as "read every day", "exercise every day", or "draw every day". Some people might appreciate a system in which a friend texts, messages, emails them like clockwork at the end or beginning of everyday asking "Hey! Did you actually get around to reading like at least twenty minutes today, or were you too busy putting it off?". And then, that might encourage people to do their thing, so they can proudly say, "Yes, I accomplished this specific thing, here are some few details!" Or, if you didn't, you can come up with some excuse: "I was slammed with major additional family or work responsibilities that occured today, and there was zero time to slip in any enrichment activites today". I personally don't believe in sacrificing sleep to do these productive, enriching-type hobby-activities. For me, I simply have to fit whatever accomplishments during some designated waking hours, and if I failed to get them done at the end of the day, I just own up to it and go to bed and try again the next day. If you have any specific goals that you want to discuss, talk about them here! If you want people to pester/encourage you to get you to do stuff, then youbcan list your specifications here. I personally would be okay with anyone who comes across this thread to , at any time during the day, but preferably as early in te mornng as possible, to PM me either on these forums or to my email accounts thst can be viewed on my profile page, or, if you prefer to publicly get on me and really put me on the spot, write on my profile page publicly, so I have ro respond there publicly as well. Demand me to truthfully say how much I did the following things the day before: Read books. I am currently trying to read a very informative book on economics, the Bible, and I have also had a few novels sitting under the couch or in my closet. Did I practice healthy eating habits? If there is fruit availabke in the house, I need to be eating only fruit as my initial morning food, and then wait thirty minutes to any hour, possibly 90 minutes, befire eating any other food. Did I try to practice my drawing today? Or was I a coward who figured, "well, it is just going to look ugly and not amount to anything in the short run". Remember people, this thread can also just be for talking about this. If someone doesn't specify that they want pestering as a daily schedule... or specifies that they are not ready or willing to have people as accountability buddies in a daily schedule messaging sense, then just leave it at and discuss life on this thread. We can discuss certain things that we may have to do without as much in favor of more life-enriching accomplishments: Do some of us spend hours on those meme-type sites, just looking up fujny pictures instead of trying tbcreate humor ourselves. And while sometmes we do need laughs and specialized social interaction that our Internet buddies can provide... if only one in four memes are funny, or you have to spend a lot of tike idly clicking on clickbait that turned outbto be stupid, especially if you kinda knew it would be stupid, then there's time slipping thu our fingers. Guest November 14, 2014 Share November 14, 2014 (edited) I already accomplished my biggest life goal, which was to get toned, stronger and more fitter. I can tell you right away, my life is a whole lot better than it was back in the day. A big shout-out to my personal trainer, Matthew! VictiniStar101 214 November 14, 2014 Share November 14, 2014 (edited) Let's see, what I want to accomplish. Long-term: If I continue to make PMVs long enough, learn how to use Adobe After Effects and/or Adobe Premiere Pro. Get 1,000 subscribers on Youtube. Learn how to code, particularly in either C++ or Java or both. Short-term: Trying to read "The Fault in Our Stars" to maybe get back into reading. GuillermoGage 246 November 16, 2014 Author Share November 16, 2014 (edited) Well, I failed to do any book reading or drawing or anything of a mental or creative enriching nature, but I had unusually long family responsibilities as indicated in my journal that I type up and sometimes write down on my My Little Pony calendar. "Day was longer than usual; Emily picked them up at 1013pm, that makes it just about 11 hours on the nose. Then I spent a lot of time typing up a long forum message on this device and getting the TV remote to work for my mom. Now 1136pm. Ready to go to bed." Them are my two year old and five year old nephew. I gotta be doing stuff with them, so they don't be slapping each other around and instead develop healthy interests and stuff. Like, up until yesterday, Jonathan, at age five (gonna turn 6 on December 26) didn't know what an ostrich is. Then , after their mother, my sister Emily came to pick them up at 1013pm (she dropped off Christopher at 1113am and Jonathan at 359pm) I spent the rest of my night socializing in the form of contributing a lengthy post on another topic I made: http://mlpforums.com/topic/114657-what-is-your-daily-household-situation-like/ Okay, so Arianna, Sofia and baby Alex's papa just got here, so now I am typing this when it is just Jonathan and Christopher right here. Could be for another hour, could be until 1030pm. If there is time available, I will either nap early to restore sleep or begin on my CompTIA classes early before the official start date on the 18th. Take that new laptop out when the boys get picked up. Well, the boys got picked up at 720pm. and I spent the rest of the day turning on the laptop and listening to barely an hour worth of really simple Windows 7 video lessons, then taking a simple 10-question quiz. then around 9-ish, I spent about 20 minutes putting dishes away. Then I drifted over to this forum and wanted to socialize considering how lonely I am... and ended up looking up generic YouTube videos about the "10 greatest video games of all-time", even tho in real life I could care less about that. Well, a lot of people's lists had like four seventh-gen titles on there, Including Mass Effect 2 and Skyrim... so, of course... I ended up spending from 10:56 to 12:37 using the Internet as a lonely-ass echo chamber to protest the fact that... that thing where people take the thing that used to mean " the union between a man and a woman" and apply it to gay couples. Made all the more frustrating because I'm kinda gay myself and it feels like the whole world is against me on "either side". Basically, I spent an hour and a half ogling the comments sections and Twitter of the controversy of Brandon Eich resigning from Mozilla, because he made a tiny $1000 contribution to Prop 8. I was pressured to install Firefox by my online school, even tho I knew that IE fully works for my classes (even Opera fully works even tho it is not officially supported), so, after feeling really dirty about having it on my laptop, I uninstalled Firefox (after not using it on this computer). It is so discouraging to be pretty much the only gay person on the planet doing this, Long story short, I stayed up too late last night looking up gay controversy stuff. See, this is why I need like-minded friends. I need to recruit some Skype friends or something so I can talk about this one-on-one with people so I can feel like I have a voice and that no, "equality" is not always the answer. Maybe I'll accomplish more today. I have kids over from 11am to 6pm, but maybe 7pm. Edited November 15, 2014 by GuillermoGage
