How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: All will be explained below.

Hello,

 

  My name is Roger Estrada. I'm 19. Currently finishing my last year of high school. I'm a musician and I've done many things with music including conventions, marching band championships, IEs, Nationally ranked drama troupe, and so much more. I've always had this mentality of being a loving and tolerant person, and I never thought I would break that. Until a couple months ago when I had to deal with a Brony that treated me horrible because I said "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, is not my 'Cup of tea'.". And this person freaked out and ever sense that I hated everything MLP related. After being a dick to a fan base named "Bronies" I decided to apologize to Nykkes64 someone who was extremely nice to me at SuperCon yet I gave a bad look to all because he likes "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic". This made me feel horrible but also sparked a question, "Why do I hate Bronies? Or MLP?". "Frozen", "Lego: The Movie", and "Adventure Time" are for children. So why do I hate the show or the fan base? While yes they are those who disrespect people but than again every group of people has "those people" and Nykkes64 is living proof of what MLP and Bronies are really about. People who enjoy a show and want to spread the message or love and tolerance, what is so bad with that? If anything that is exactly what I stand for. So than I wondered what all the fuss was about. So I watched one episode, than two, three, four, five, six, etc. and while I'm not "OMG MLP YASSSSSS!", I find the show very entertaining so while I'm not a "Bronie" but I am going to say this, I actually like "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic". So what ever you feel comment below. Whatever happens, happens.

Hi my friend =) I don't know where that one guy was coming from but they shouldn't treat you horribly because of your opinion. If it's not your cup of tea then it isn't. It's not like we or anyone could change that with being mean or something like that =)

There are absolutely people who have had experiences with bronies to that kind of fashion, at conventions or otherwise, and had their opinion soured of the show because of that, so no one blames you for it, don't worry.

Welcome and Greetings, @RogerEstradaTV. I hope you enjoy your stay with us here on the MLP Forums. As for the brony who ridiculed you for MLP FiM not being your cup of tea, he/she is one of a few black sheep that give the fandom a bad name. Those of us here are very kind and don't tolerate haters nor those who would threaten or otherwise ridicule somepony over such a trivial matter. There are plenty here that enjoy ponies but are not too fond of the show. I'm sure you'll find something here for you.

Welcome to the forums . And don't worry about having disliked Bronies because of a bad experience for a while or not being a "Brony" ( which is honestly a title that is rather amorphous in definition anyway ); because everyone before liking just about anything, is at first indifferent or confused by it, and if your first exposure to someone who does like the thing in question is negative, a standard reaction is to just dislike the thing out of reflex. I've seen people online who were simply trying understand what the appeal of MLP was, get flat out attacked as if not understanding Bronies was as bad as being a Neo-Nazi or something.
