There is only Ditzy. 292 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 Americans seem to be willfully ignorant and arrogant from my outsider's perspective, looking in, and I think you people could benefit from a little bit of humility. The United States owes everything it has to other nations and other peoples, and not enough Americans understand that. Now, don't get me wrong: I have nothing against individual Americans, hell, my best friend is American. I simply dislike the American mentality, way of life, and imperialism. 4 Siggy by
Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,306 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 (edited) I'm American, but I feel like an outsider. xD Therefore I'm replying to this thread anyhow. I grew up amidst people who love Jesus and hate homosexuals. People who are generally narrow-minded and unabashedly prejudiced. People who fearfully cling to antiquated ideas and values. People who hold fast to rights they don't - and shouldn't - even have and hypocritically go out of their way to impede the rights of others. Many Americans seemingly denounce and even vilify the free thinkers. The individuals. Those who don't subscribe to established behaviors or go willingly with the flow. And many of us thoughtlessly scoff at the rest of the world and pretend that we are the very best thing in it. This is delusion. And that delusion only facilitates moral and societal stagnation. pocketshotgun 39 December 16, 2014 Share December 16, 2014 I'm Canadian first of all. I don't want to be narrow minded or biased because of stereotypes (if I did that I probably would not be here) but I think that american's are for the most part just to proud, I myself cannot speak for the country because I do not live there but from what I have observed from interacting with people there, they should just be a little more humble. As for the government, it should come as no shock that the government is more than a little bit corrupt in some parts but so are half the governments in the world. The main reason I think that some people don't like american's is because the government gets involved where it shouldn't because of a lack of humility. Overall, I think we shouldn't embrace or follow any stereotypes. I have met some huge assholes from america but then again some of my best friends are american. But I'm just some guy on the internet
