"If somepony is in need of my help or trust, then they are deserving of it," Tyra sternly replied, punctuating with a gentle stomp of a hoof on the ground, "she may have tried to hurt us before, but ponies do desperate things when they have no other options. She trusts us enough to let us help her get off this island, and we trust her enough to let her lead the way!"

She grinned once again. "See? We already have progress!"

@@Unicorncob,

"I never said she doesn't deserve it, I said she does WANT it.  If she didn't deserve it I would have deserted by now. " He said looking at her. "I can not help somepony who refuses to take my help."

He spoke slowly "I tried to help her last night, she scolded me for it, so I took it that she does not want my help. If she does not want my help, I can not help. It was clear she was in pain, I tried to use my magic to heal it, She got mad. Understand now?" He said, he didn't want to sound rude to her but to him she wasn't getting what he was trying to say.

"Perhaps she simply isn't used to ponies helping her," Tyra suggested, with a shrug of her shoulders, "it is normal to react with hostility to something you don't understand, if I'm not mistaken?"

She glanced down to the water, wondering if she could see the Kelpie from there. "I've met a lot of ponies like that, those who have always been alone and so don't seem to know how to respond to ponies offering help."

"She was simply agitated from her injury," Tyra defended, glancing up at Chronos, "If you were badly hurt, wouldn't you also be a little upset?"

She looked back down to the water. "Besides, she did it for your sake. And like I said, she probably does not know how to take help from somepony else, but she can be taught to." She looked back up to him with a hopeful grin. "Anypony can!"

"Yes but not the pony trying to help me!" He said. "Lets just change the subject... please?" He said, sighing.

He looked at Tyra and tried to change the subject by saying "so... you mentioned your father earlier, so what is he like?" He asked.

Chronos never had the most perfect relationship with his father, especially after his excommunication.

Tyra couldn't help but grin at Chronos asking about her father.

"My father, Ralof, is the leader of our village, Trotstheim," She explained, beaming with pride, "he is the best warrior there, and he taught me how to use a weapon and how to fish! He led a lot of raids to enemy lands, and always returned triumphant!"

She looked up to her helmet, its wings almost perking up with her. "The day he finally decided to let me join him, I claimed this helmet as a trophy!"

"Your father sounds like a great stallion. " Chronos said, happy that the topic was changed. "Was he a chief... or how does your village work?" He asked. "Also speaking about your helmet, how do the wings change on their own?" He walked back over to the rock he was sitting on before and sat down.

"He is the chieftain, yes," Tyra nodded, still grinning, "Our clan has led the village for generations, and soon it will be my brother's turn!"

She glanced up to the sky, smiling to herself. "I wonder how Argus is doing with his training."

As for her helmet, she cocked her head at the question. "Truth be told, I don't know. They have always done that..."

"I'm guessing Argus is your brother? From the sound of your names, Argus, Tyra and Rolaf. Your village must have some griffon influence, or at least the Northern Griffons, they were the Norse Griffon tribes before it became the Griffon Kingdom." Chronos said

Tyra nodded. "Indeed, my older brother." She cocked her head at his next question. "Well, we do have some griffins in Trotstheim, true enough, but my clan has always had ponies!"

She blinked and looked up in thought. "Though there may have been some griffins in our time, quite honestly I am not too sure..."

She turned to look at him, grinning. "What about you? Where did you come from?"

"You were a squire?" Tyra repeated, blinking with wonder, "I have heard that word before, it is a high ranking position in society, is it not?"

Her ears lowered as he continued about his father; obviously he didn't hold him in high regard like she did with hers.

"Your father was a knight, you say? What is he like?"

"A squire is a night in training, You're a page, then a squire, then a knight." He said. He then sighed and said "Yes he was, Like I said he always disobeyed orders, criticized the princesses, He acted like a drill sergeant and got into drunken brawls allot. One time he got into a fight with the Knight who trained me and I had to break it up, I kicked my father right on his arse...." He said. That memory actually made him chuckle.

Tyra let out a laugh from the story, finding the mental image rather amusing.

"My father often gets into drunken brawls, though he always wins," she grins, then taps a hoof on her chin, "though, so do I..."

She shrugged.

"Why did he fight with your teacher, though? Were they drunk?"

Tyra listened intently to his story, snickering into her hoof at the impression of his father.

She then nodded. "Indeed, alcohol does strange things to some ponies, my father is usually very calm until our village feasts, then he goes all out and challenges every warrior in the village!"

A quick thought entered her head. "How old were you in your training? ...and when you kicked your father's butt?"

"I doubt it," Tyra snickered, smirking up at Chronos, "my father is the chieftain for a reason!"

She blinked as he asked about her mother. "Oh, my mother is named Valhalla. She worked at a tavern in another village before she and my father met. She was against him training me at an early age, and especially on taking me on my first raid so soon, but she has become much more supportive after seeing what I can do!"

Tyra picked up a fish in her mouth, before practically lighting up at Chronos' proposal.

"Of course!" She squeaked, dropping the fish with a wet splat, "We sing all the time back home, on voyages and at feasts!"

She sat on her haunches and began to think of the many local songs she knew. "I have also heard a few on my travels as well. Which songs do you know?"
