Founder Twilight Sparkle ✨ 8,527 November 13, 2011 Founder Share November 13, 2011 I wanted to take a moment to let you all know that we will start putting a certain amount of donation money towards the monthly server bill. MLP Forums is hosted on an enterprise-class VPS, which is awesome, but also very expensive. I try to cover as much of it as I can through ad income from my other websites, and Jonke is generous enough to provide a recurring donation towards the cost in the name of Minecraft, but I still end up paying around half the bill out of my personal savings. Now, don't get me wrong - I truly care about this community and would happily pay for everything if I could. But let's have a reality check here - I am a full-time high school student, and getting a job is out of the question for me (trust me - it is). Resources-wise, MLP Forums is also the heaviest site running on my server; so after Kurtiss and I talked it over, we came to the conclusion that it's only fair if MLP Forums covers the cost of what it uses. From now on, I'll be putting $20 of donation money towards the monthly server bill. So, that's all. Nothing that will directly affect you, but you deserve to be aware of exactly how your donation money is spent. I'm wary about spending it all at once and would like to keep a certain amount in a "war chest", so MLP Forums can still pay its server dues just in case we have a dry month or two with no donations. Unfortunately right now due to my being sick last weekend I had to spend a little more money than normal. But next paycheck I will certainly be able to give you a hand with this site. I feel I'm obligated to give you a hand since this site has provided me with lots of smiles laughter, and it's a fabulous stress reliever after work In fact I'd send you $50,000 if I were a millionaire.
