ManaMinori 4,146 February 18, 2015 Share February 18, 2015 So I don't know if anyone noticed, but the way Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer are portrayed as they both try to settle into their surroundings and adjust to customs and tradition, in Twilight's case, and being in a group of friends, in Sunset's case, are identical. In “Winter Wrap Up”, Twilight struggles to adapt to traditions in Ponyville, wanting to help in wrapping up the seasons, and fit in without using her magic, and in every task that she strives to help with, she screws up with building nests with Rarity, ice-cutting with Pinkie, clearing the farmland with AJ, and trying to wake the animals with Fluttershy, and also can't be part of the weather team with Rainbow Dash because she lacks wings, but she still manages to find her niche near the end of the episode, with organizing the events. In Rainbow Rocks, Sunset Shimmer faces the same trials- only wanting to help and offer her assistance- with the CMC in making their banner, in offering suggestions to the problems the human 5 are facing, in managing the volume as the mane 5's band is practicing, and still not having her attempts recognized or being included until the end of the movie. One more thing to notice was that in episode 1 of season 1, Celestia and Luna are shown in front of a ying/ yang symbol as the narrator explains how they work in harmony, as opposites, raising the sun and moon every day. Sunset Shimmer's cute mark is a sun in the form of a yin/ yang symbol itself – like Celestia's sun cutie mark, while Twilight's mark is stars, much like Luna's moon symbol. This is your average, everyday annoying signature. Are you seriously reading this? Really? Wow. I didn't think you'd actually waste enough time to get to the fourth line. Well, we've got a few seasons and a couple of movies ahead of us and I would not be upset at all if things ended up like this. Fingers crossed. MLP still has quite a ways to go, like you said, so I guess we just have to play the waiting game and hope it comes true. Sunset needs more screentime AND merch, but that's another topic.
