Tribute Song For AMWDW (Any volunteers?)

I’ve been thinking about doing a nice little song for Dr. Wolf’s AMWDW since the anniversary was announced. I’m sure you guys seen some of his shows, where he and a ‘patient’ or two would bring up topics and problems going on here and there, especially within the brony community and anything concerning life. I was thinking that it’s about time that the fans gave something back. Inspiration struck when I heard the song Piano Man by Billy Joel, so I went and wrote my lyrics for it.

So far, I’ve wrote the lyrics myself and sang an acapella demo as an example. Click on the spoiler button to check them out.

But Diamond Tiara should be in that doghouse’

Who has trouble keeping in touch
She’s friends with Applejack, who has burdens on her back
But their friendships’ in no trouble as such

And Eli and Toon set some examples
Fox and Keyframe talks about being alone 
They’ll share some drinks called love and friendship
Cos it’s better than drinking alone

I was practising at the time and wasn’t listening to music at the time so it wouldn’t fit in with the background music if that’s what you’re wondering. The lyrics are pretty much complete, but I’m okay to take some advice to make some changes until this deadline: 30^th March 2015 And here's where you guys come in. 

Feel free to apply to any of the three roles.

For singers: To apply, just post in a mp3 file or a online clip of you auditioning, singing the first two verses and the chorus. Even if applied I can’t guarantee whether or not you’ll make it as I will need voices suitable for this song and availabilities are limited.

For instrumentalists: You can submit your file or online clip here, of you playing the background music. You can make the song whatever genre you want, it can be rock, some sort of remix, 8-bit, orchestral, etc. Just make sure that the singing fits in. 

For artists / animators: I’m going to need some cover art for this as well to make this video. Just draw / animate anything related to AMWDW. It can be Dr. Wolf having a session with one or a number of patients, celebrating with many OCs with drinks, etc. And if you're making an animation, I'd like the audition video to be about 30 seconds long and based on the lyrics. Just make sure you get them submitted by 30^th March. And definitely make sure there’s no gore or R rated stuff in there.

Now, the deadline dates have been set, all of which are within the UK time, but they can be changed if there is a popular demand. After the deadlines have been met, we’ll see how it goes. To submit/apply, you can post your here or contact me via PM. Also, if you want to, feel free to post a link to your page/channel where you post your works, like youtube.

If you to make the music background...

You can submit your file or online clip here, of you playing the background music, using the same notes, same timing, same genre, but different kinds of instruments if you can. I can’t guarantee the amount of people who will make it afterwards. The deadline for this is 30^thMarch.

 

If you want to draw / animate...

What’s up, folks!? Time for some updates.

 

Due to lack of singing auditions, I’ll extend the deadline for it to 30^th March. I was hoping you guys can do some small singing but I think I might’ve been rushing you guys. Sorry about that. I’m also sorry for the people who have been rushing to get this done and send it to me by the deadline. Don’t worry, you can breathe again.

 

The extension also goes to lyrics editing for the same date. You never know when you have an idea or two.

 

However, the deadline for cover art and music background making still remains.

 

I’m also planning to place the this request thread on a forums website voiceactingalliance.com and youtube. Question is: What do you think? Should I do it?

Selfie_Pony: Thanks for the comment. If you want, you can spread the news around. I, myself, have been planning to place requests like this on other forums, like the ones I mentioned before. And putting OCs in? Good idea.

 

Bronyance: Sounds good. Consider yourself officially in. Think you can do the instrumental version of the song?

Hiya folks. Sorry that I’ve been away for so long. Been really, REALLY, busy with life outside the internet. Here’s what’s been happening with the collab project so far. I know that the original deadline to apply was the 30^th March. But a couple of weeks ago, on youtube, I extended the deadline to 30^th April but I didn’t get the time to inform you guys here. Sorry about that.

 

But now, because of lack of applicants and knowing how busy life can get, I decided that from now, there will be no deadlines. Everyone’s free to join in whenever they want. No matter what role until further notice.

 

The way to apply and audition for singers and cover artists remain the same but for instrumentalists, you can make the song whatever genre you want, it can be rock, some sort of remix, 8-bit, orchestral, etc. Just make sure that the singing fits in. I’ll be making changes on the first post of this thread.

 

I, myself, have been planning to sing a solo version of the song and will be placing it on youtube at some point. Not only as a tribute, but also to give people the idea of what the song is like.
