Thoughts on paint/pinto/appaloosa OC's?

What do you all think of people making their OC's with special markings on the body like horse breeds such as pintos? I want to know because I'm currently designing one.

I think it can be really cute and pretty, but it can also easily look wrong. I think a good idea is to not make the contrast too big. Take Luna fx, she is pale blue with darker blue markings on her plot. That works. But if you go white pony with red marks, it's just too confusing to look at. In my opinion!

Well you definitely don't have to do what I said, it's completely up to you!

But I think black and white might be a bit much, it depends what the whole picture looks like. But in general black/white ponies get some bashing.

Yeah I can understand why. But I just thought I needed another opinion before really doing stuff with him and making a story
