I stepped off the boat onto the Trottingham Dock. Finally. Dry land or at least dry land were my chances of getting eaten by giant birds were a lot lower.

The dock bustled with workers doing this and that, whatever dock workers do, I’m no sailor.

“Let’s see…” I thought aloud. I checked the side pocket on my bag. That should be enough bits for two tickets to Ponyville.

“Looks like we’ll be taking the train, Cosmo” I said assuming he was right behind me. “You can crash at my place until the heats off you which, as soon as my letter gets to Canterlot, will be off… Oh, and you might want to where a cloak or something when we’re around police" I smiled looking at the city. I'd be home soon and, after that place we'd just been through, that was all I could as for.

"Time waits for no one, Cosmo!" that wasn't exactingly relevant but I felt like shouting something right now with how happy I was.

"Time waits for no one Cosmo!" wait what does that even mean?

I shook my head, there was no need to really dwell on it. After all the time I've spent with him on the island and the trip home I've gotten used to his quirks. My legs wobbled a little as I got used to walking on land again, if I never had to take a boat again it would be too soon. At least this time was a lot better, I wasn't traveling by myself and that ginger Atlas carried came in handy when I kept getting sea sick. Still I'd rather not take another boat ride anywhere, especially not one that long ever again.

I followed after Atlas as he took off without warning as he usually did, heeding his advice I threw up my hood to avoid getting spotted by law enforcement. Even though I had been gone for so long, I doubt the guard had given up looking for me especially her... *gulp* I shuttered at the thought of her ever finding me, as strong as Atlas is I doubt he could stand up to her for long.

I pushed that thought past me, dwelling on this wouldn't do much for me anyway. Besides I doubt she would be personally looking for me, after all that happened between us I doubt she still cares about me anyway. I took in the sights of Trottingham to put my mind at ease, it was refreshing to be in a city that wasn't Manehatten for a change. If there was anything I could be thankful about being on the run like this, it's all the new sights I could soak in. Before all of this happened I couldn't have even imagined leaving stepping foot out of my old neighborhood for even a day. Let alone the months I've been away now. I wonder how everything was back in Manehatten...

I guess I could find out later, I'll have more than enough time to think about that while I'm laying low at Atlas's place. If I remembered correctly he said he lived in some backwater town in the middle of nowhere, so I should be fairly safe from any law enforcement. I wonder what kinda house a guy like him lives in, my imagination wandered at the possibilities.

As my mind was off in it's own little world as normal, I didn't realize right away that Atlas had gotten way ahead of me.  I sighed to myself and trotted off after him as he seemingly bolted through the crowds of the Trottingham Port.

"Hey, don't just go running of without me! " I yelled after him, but I already knew my words had fallen on deaf ears.

I swear you give this guy even figment of an idea he'll go running off in any random direction.  I suppose he's just excited to be heading home and I couldn't blame him. After all we had been through, I was just as excited to be back in Equestria, criminal record and all.

I did a quick mental check of my Trottingham criminal record... That's taken care of... I was framed for that one... I framed someone else for that one... That guy did try to mug me though... He deserved it... I guess I'm clean here, good, I won't have to pay off the mob again...

I waited until I was sure Cosmo was with me.

"So the plan is we get train tickets and head out to Ponyville where my house is. One of my other friends might be there since half the time I'm not there and a few of my friends use it as a place to stay for a bit"

Hunter was probably there right now... Oh fun, I'd have to make sure Cosmo doesn't see any clues about Hunter being a werewolf and all.., that should be easy, I've done it before.

"Oh, and whatever you do there DO NOT OPEN the BLUE fridge... Don't do it..." That's where Hunter stashed the meat he hunts so he can eat well and it gives my griffon guests some food too.

Hunter... He was one of my closet friends. I'd made a vow for him that every full moon I'd stay awake watching the moon and he vowed to the same for me. He had no choice but to turn in the full moon and he'd have to hide out in the woods until dawn, unlike if he turned willingly.

It was more of a comfort thing. Under the full moon neither of us felt alone wherever we were. We were like brothers... I was the closest thing he had to family. The same attack that gave him his curse took away his family.

I snapped out of my thoughts and got back to business.

"The station shouldn't be too far. It'd be better to walk than take a taxi, come on"

The city felt strange now... All the people and buildings.

"Nice to be back around people besides sailors, eh?"

And the food... And showers, Celestia, I haven't had a proper both since I left port on the way to the island... That explains the looks I was getting... That look you give a hobo... Yeah, once I was home I'd be taking a bath... And Cosmo, he probably need one too.

"Hey, if you see a place to grab a bite speak up, we haven't eaten real food in... Months, right?" I smiled again happy to be back.

As we walked through the city I heard Atlas talk about his friend or something living in Ponyville. I honestly only half listened except when he mentioned something about a blue fridge, normally I would question such things but after what had happened on the island I learned better than to question his judgement. So I just nod and acknowledgement and make small talk for a bit with him, as I took in the sights of the city.

"Nice to be back around people besides sailors, eh?"

"yea, no kidding..." those sailors were a rough bunch. "Then again, they probably would have a lot more amicable to you, if you hadn't convinced the captain I was your slave."

I was still a little upset at that one, mostly because of the horrible implications and stigmas that come from even mentioning slavery to begin with. Though I couldn't really stay mad about it though. After all, it stopped me from getting thrown overboard or getting sent back to Equestria and potentially arrested. So I suppose i owe him for that, I guess.

"Hey, if you see a place to grab a bite speak up, we haven't eaten real food in... Months, right?"

My stomach rumbled at as soon as he mentioned that, the thought of eating something edible was enough to almost make me salivate on the spot. It was good timing he mentioned that too as we were just passing by a nice looking inn.

"Sounds good to me, wanna just eat here? I heard nothing but great things about Trottingham pubs." I also just wanted a stiff drink, had been awhile and it was one of the few guilty pleasures I could ever afford.

"Come on, first rounds on me." The least I could do is buy this guy a drink, after he totally bailed me out of a really awkward situation and saved my life countless of times. Plus it's a time to celebrate, after all the things we've been through we deserved to let loose a little.

"Fine then, here it is" I used my flawless method of picking good places to go. Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, "That one!" I pointed at some random bar that looked alright.

I pushed open the door to the strong smell of alcohol and bread. That great smell.

The place looked like something our of a movie. On the bar regulars sat drinking and in the place's corners shady looking ponies did their business.

"What'll it be far ya?" Asked the barkeep cheerfully seeing us walk in.

"Surprise me" The barkeep seemed to get a devilish grin.

"Whatever you say, sir"

"How about you, lad?" He asked Cosmo.

"I'll have what he's having," I say pointing to a particularly drunk customer, with a pint of what seemed to be a locally brewed ale.

The bartender simply rolled his eyes at my terrible joke and headed off to get our drinks. I thought it was funny...

I took a quick look at the menu and decided on something that looked good. I didn't really care what I ordered, if I could I would probably order the whole menu. After what I've been eating the past six months, anything sounded appetizing.

"So tell me," I say after deciding on something to eat. "What's this friend of yours like?"
