Am I right here?

I have a little dillema here.

Me and a friend of me said that we would go to a amusement park called De Efteling. We would go on Tuesday 02 June. The original plan is to go with the train, but the mother of this friend would want to drive us to the park and pick us up. For this to happen, she had to make a few appointments with co-workers to make sure she would be able to drive us there.

Now, the thing is, Tuesday will only be rain. A lot of rain. And because it is 30 euro to get in the park, I find it not fun to be drowned to the bones and to have a big chance that certain attractions are not open.

I said this to the friend, but he says that it is very dissrespectful to not go, now that her mother made these appointments, and his mother agrees.

To be honest, I think the mother is really pressuring my friend to behave like this, because she can't take dissapointment.

Am I selfish here? Because I'm really thinking that I might be

To be 100% honest, it is a little selfish that you dont want to go now, but who would actually WANT to go in the rain? Thats no fun.
But it is rude to cancel on somebody, especially if they went out of their way for you. I dont blame you for not wanting to go in the rain, but if I were you, I'd just go anyway. It was nice for your friends mom to go out of her way to get you there, even though she really didn't have to. Neither party is really in the wrong here.

Thank you for your honesty. I apreciate it

I forgot to mention that I and my friend have vacation already, so we can easily go on another date

Well, if she's booked off all that time, you should at least go and do SOMETHING. Could you get her to bring you both somehwere else, perhaps inside?
