Remix’s jaw fell slack at the pun, before she flopped over dramatically with a groan. “Oh my gosh, that was so bad!” she cried, before sitting up just as quickly as she had laid down. “Besides, bad puns are my thing!” she exclaimed, pointing a jokingly accusatory hoof in Silvia’s direction.

Jazz watched him, and said nothing when he stayed quiet. She simply observed as he summoned the paper and ink, intrigued by his doodles.

Silvia smiled shyly. She thought it was a good pun, but she also knew there was no malice behind Remix's words. She giggled. "Oh, sor-ry!" she mock-apologized. She giggled a bit more, enjoying Remix's company.

Nightlight noticed Jazz watching him, and immediately blushed. He was about to zap his belongings back home, but the curiosity in the gray mare's eyes stopped him, and he just stayed like that for a short while, as each stared into the other's soul. Reluctantly, he turned back to his work, trying his best to ignore Jazz's presence. "I-I'm not very good yet, so please don't judge too harshly..."

Remix grinned. “You should be!” she pouted, huffing childishly before erupting into giggles. “You know what – you’re super cool. We should hand more often! I think Jazzy would like you lots. Just takes a bit to get to know her, ya know?”

Jazz noted his blush, and awkwardly glanced away, hoping it would make him more comfortable. She ended up catching his gaze however, and held it for as long as he stayed. When he turned back, she took it as her cue to resume watching, and let out a hum of mild puzzlement at his next comment. “I wouldn’t say that – you seem pretty good to me.”

"Thank you!" Silvia smiled, ears perked up happily. She thought a moment to take in Remix's words about Jazz. "Ah... I see. She's like Nightlight." Silvia had forgotten the taboo nature that subject was likely to bring up, so she kept talking. "When Nightlight and I first met each other, we weren't immediate best friends. He was so shy, and he often still is around others. But I wanted to become his friend. I opened myself up to him and wanted to understand him." Silvia was talking more to herself than to Remix at this point. "I found him at a bookstore one day. We both liked music and books, so..." Silvia stopped, realizing she was rambling. "S-sorry." She rubbed her hoof on the ground nervously. She didn't look up. "The point is, some ponies really become different people once you get to know them. I'm sure it'll be that way with Jazz, too." She smiled apologetically, half-hoping Remix would forget any mention of her royal blue, musical cousin.

Nightlight grinned. "You think so?" Normally, Nightlight didn't show his work to others, so he'd never really received much feedback, aside from Silvia.

Remix thought about it, faltering for just a second before she responded. Welp! Gotta get over it sooner or later, I guess. “Ohhh! True, true! I mean, when I met him, he was super duper awkward as well.” She explained, chuckling a little at the memory. “He was super nice afterwards though. Jazz sort of becomes a little ball of sass.” She paused, waving her hooves to dismiss Sylvia’s apology with a smile. “Nah, don’t be sorry! It’s time I settled this anyway. Forgive and forget, after all.”

“Well, sure. It’s better than what I could do.” Jazz said, smiling at him gently and settling to watching him continue.

Silvia giggled at Remix's remark about Jazz, but her smile faded when Remix mentioned "forgive and forget."

"...Do you really mean it?" she asked, wide-eyed. "I kinda thought you'd rather just forget him forever and move on, like that other pon--" Silvia clasped a hoof to her mouth, knowing it was too late. She'd said too much. She cleared her throat. "...Nice weather, eh?"

"Thank you," said Nightlight, gently smiling back. "I'm better suited to writing stories, though," he said, continuing his doodling and drawings. "But I decided I wanted to draw, too, so..." He gestured towards his parchment and smiled at Jazz again before focusing his attention back on his hobby.

“Well yea! He didn’t hurt me that bad, I guess. I’ve had worse.” Remix said, shrugging nonchalantly. “Wait… Other pony? How… How do you know about that?” she mumbled her voice dropping immediately in both volume and pitch.

“You’re welcome. I can’t write much other than sheet music, so I wouldn’t be able to help you there.” Jazz said, chuckling. “Good to broaden your interests if you want to, after all.” She continued, before falling into silence as she contented herself with watching him work.
