Merging polls

I've had one of my polls destroyed by being merged with another, unrelated poll.

 

There should be some sort of system to prevent this from happening, like requiring the OP to verify that the polls are actually about the same thing before they can be merged.

I would love that. But it is unfortunately not built into the software. Also some OP's are no longer members with makes OP verification a tenuous idea.

 

From a forum management perspective, our merging has been reduced dramatically with the new megathread policy, but there are always going to be some fall outs.
