Because the boss never tells me about rookies and then the day before he's all like hey Sparkle your guiding the rookies around tomorrow. Sometimes I think I work in reception rather than being a monster hunter... I don't like him that much..."

Lily stares back in Steel's eyes meeting s gaze cooly. "You may call me Lily. Only ponies that use my full name don't care for me much. And in spite of your...presence...I don't think you mean much harm, to us anyway." She then looks over to Sparkle. "Has for how my contact new about this job..I'm not sure. I've never seen him before a few weeks ago. Usually my bosses are ponies that have been around town for a while and want something done quick or quiet or both. He came up to me with an offer, telling me about something in the frozen north that needs..'removed'. He gave me enough bits for the supplies I have and a downpayment of about what I make in a month, he said I get the rest if I come back. Which for my daughter's sake I'm completely planning on"

Steel nodded -she's an interesting one-steel thought -maybe she could be of use to the clan-then he heard herr say daughter and his eyes lost fosus as he spaced out thinking of the small filly he left at home for this job a small smile played on his lips

"Yeah IF you come back the boss is thick enough to have payed me in advance why does he do that anyway? I mean I don't even need to kill this thing, but I promised my sister I'd come back successful or die trying probably the later... I guess... This thing is the biggest monster I've ever been assigned..."

"Well my daughter doesn't even know I'm gone. She's at camp then she's staying at a friends house for a week. Plenty of time for what we're doing here I hope. As for her father, he wouldn't care anyway, he hasn't care in a long time." Lily says sadly. "I'll find a way to explain all the extra money to her, as for completeing the job...he said there'd be more and bigger ones if I could pull this off. Small jobs are nice but they don't always pay for our rent or food." Lily stood up and kicked at the ground shyly. "I guess we should get going then." she said desperate to change the subject.

"WHAAAAAAAT!!!!!!????? lilly! Family comes first okay!? My sister even my younger sister knows I'm gone and I might not come home! Imagine the look on your daughters face when she realises that your not coming home! She'd be devastated promise me something Lilly for her..." But Sparkle was interrupted by a loud rock on rock scraping sound...

"Let me correct you on that, my daughter comes first. Her father doesn't care and probably doesn't know we're still around.."She says with a far off look in her eye. "Plus my daughter is old enough to want to come along but still too young to know exactly all the danger we're all in." She shakes her head a few times and tries to refocus. "What's that?" She said all of a sudden turning her head to the noise.

Sparkle went outside onto the freezing station and looked up at the cliff face before saying through chattering teeth "g...guys... Y...our no...t...t gonna believe this bu...t the m...m...mountain is c...colapseing!" And after she said that it fell completely covering the station and the tunnel into it

Lily climbed under the bench she was just sitting on as what seemed to be the whole world quite literally collapsed around her. She covered her head with her hooves and waiting for the noise to stop. Feeling completely helpless and having no idea what happens to the others until the noise finally stops.

Sparkle walks into the waiting room as white as a ghost before saying " I've learned two things today number one do not stand outside during a snowy landslide this happens... And number two I really really hate the cold... " Sparkle shook herself making the white powdery snow settle on everything in the room

Lily giggles a little as she see's that Sparkle is alright and comes out from under her bench, "Well that's why you need one of these silly" she says while pointing out her coat. "Not sure it would've saved you though if you were right under it. Does the landslide mean we're stuck here for now?"

" take a wild guess sister...considering that the tunnel is blocked and the only way in is sky or train then yes we are stuck unless you fancy flying over a mountain? Or we could walk into yakyakistan And back from there? " Sparkle said curling up in front of the fire and letting any remaining snow melt off her

"Well going by how the wind was on the way in I'm going to say we're definitely not flying out, and it's way too cold to even consider walking. What do you suggest we do now?" Lily finds an old blanket left around the station that's still somewhat clean and throws it on top of Sparkle to help warm her up.

Steel came to in town to hear sparkle his instant reaction was to make sure the Thera where safe he seem lily dive under the bench he lost sight of sparkle so he just went to a skit that looked stable and stood there watching for debris falling or anything else once iver he walked over to sparkle creating a fire in his hoof helping warm her up

"Thanks Lilly... Unfortunately I'm a little stupid and left my warm stuff at home... The boss always forgets to tell me the climate of the monsters habitat another reason for why I hate him... Oh and don't get me started on his cardinal directions I've seen school fillys with better sense of direction than him"

"Well actually my sense of direction isn't that great either..I've been studying that map he gave me front to back and left to right the whole way here, I just hope that it's right and nothings changed, it looked kind of old." She said nerviously. "As for cold weather gear, I was told that much, along with a few other minor details, nothing to specific though, something about claws and treasure."

"Treasure?! Now you have my attention Lilly what we talkin' gold, diamonds an intelligent boss? " Sparkle laughed " don't worry you can have it I don't need it " Sparkle eventually got up and looked out the window at the town which had absolutely no pony walking around due to the extreme cold, darkness and monster threat

"i..I'm not sure about that either" She stammered. "We already know the mines are full of crystals, but he hinted at something more, apparently crystals wern't all the miners were stashing down there before they all disappeared. Finders keeper's loosers weepers" He said sing songy to all the others as she pulled out her pickaxe feeling more optimistic all of a sudden. She walks over and stands next to Sparkle. "Is there anyone even still in the town? It sounded to me like almost everyone was either scared off or turned into a snack."

"Please don't talk that... The last monster I faced well... Ate m...my P...partner " Sparkle said beginning to cry "and on that day I vowed to kill any and every monster I could so no pony would have that same fate " Sparkle turned to Lilly " this might sound crazy but will you help me if you don't than that's fine I'm only asking... "

"oh I'm sorry...I didn't know that.." Lily says while staring only at the ground. She slowly wraps a hoof around Sparkle trying to help her feel at least a little better. "Don't worry, we won't become monster chow. I promise." She says while giving Sparkle a reassuring squeeze. "I was only hear for the bits and for my daughter...but after hearing that I'm more ready to help you than ever."

"Really? Thanks Lilly! " Sparkle gave Lilly a full on hug " your the best mom and friend I've ever had" she said " I know your not my mom but I wish you were then again I'd probably be back in school... Yeah on second thoughts friend is good enough for me" Sparkle said resting her head on Lilly

"Yes, really!" Lily squeaked out through the hug. "I really don't know about that mom thing. Like you said I did leaving without telling her goodbye. I'll take being a good friend though, that works for me." She said while hugging sparkle back as long as she wanted.

Steel stood quietly listening to what they where saying before sitting down he wasn't good at this kinda stuff due to his demonic nature he lacked most fellings to an extent it made dealing with ponies difficult at times "if it makes you feel better I'll aid you anytime you want" he said((at work for another 2 and a Half hour

Mist was about to answer Sparkle's question when a Pegasus entered the waiting room. Mist immediately felt the ponies evil presence. However he did not show any signs of discomfort. Sparkle hid behind Mist until the newcomer introduced himself. After a few minutes another pony entered the room. She introduced herself and Mist stepped back to allow her to talk to Sparkle. Mist heard Sparkle utter something about the mountain falling. Then the Station was covered in snow, Mist listened as Sparkle and Lilly talked for a bit more.

"if it makes you feel better I'll aid you anytime you want" he heard Steel say to Sparkle,

"As will I," Said Mist as he stood up.

"So umm what time is it? " Sparkle looked at the Station clock as old as it looked still worked decently well and read 30 past 1 when Sparkle being Sparkle picked it up and took it with her, her reason was "hey it might be usefull " and " Its not stealing if no one needs it" a true moment of Sparkle logic(+1 old clock)
