The Fierceness of Frost

"Yeah " Sparkle replied as the radio just began to transmit static and the doors and windows were rattling in there frames before another note blew off the table it read "and remember close all the windows and doors during a blizzard IT could get in " it then finished of with an out of place "good night..."

"Well we certainly wouldn't want IT getting in," said Mist as he walked over to one of the rattling windows, "at least not until we're ready to face it in battle." He secured the window so it no longer rattled. "That should stop IT getting in. But just to be safe we should probably have somepony keep watch and if nopony objects I'd be happy to take the first shift."

"I thought it didn't like the snow, I guess I was wrong." Lily shivered slightly and threw her coat back over her shoulders without actually putting it all the way back on. "I suppose I should do this then to." She walked over to the front door and threw down the large bar that was behind it, firmly locking it in place. "Definitely not going out there now, just the storm is bad enough but a monster on top of it is just asking for something bad to happen.

"Yeah if you want to" Sparkle said pushing a chair against a door when she saw something through the window something large making her run to mist like extremely scared saying something like "outside monster scared am " whimpering slightly and almost crying

Mist comforted Sparkle by patting her on the back. "It's gonna be okay," said Mist as he walked to the window, "It's probably just a bear or something." Mist looked out the window and saw a small polar bear. "see what did I tell you?" Mist looked back out the window and saw two unmistakable claws come out of the fog and snatch up the bear. He quickly backed away from the window, "No, it's definatly not a bear."

Sparkle yelped as the bear was taken away "S...see I told you something was out there! " Sparkle felt like her bones had become jelly as she hid inside of a small cabinet to hide the fact she was scared out of her mind "I want to go home " she said her speech muffled by the cabinet door

Mist tapped on the cabinet that Sparkle was hiding in. "Come on out," said Mist supportively, "I know you're scared but if you dont help us stop that thing it's gonna hurt a lot more than just a bear.your a brave pony, you wouldn't be here otherwise." Mist turned away from the cabinate and addressed everypony else in the room, "you should probably arm yourselves, something tells me this is gonna be a long night "

Steel watched "all of you go ahead and get some rest" steel said "I don't need sleep so I'll keep watch" he said as he walked over to the fire place and began to get the wood ready "hurry along now sparkle if it be best for you I'd suggeste sleeping with some pony else"

"You don't need sleep? That's...strange." Lily said while staring at Steel with a very untrusting stare. "Looks like those two are getting along well enough so...I call my own bed!" Lily shouted as she grabbed the rest of her stuff and actually flew up the stairs to what looked like the master bedroom at the end of the hall.

As soon as she heard that Sparkle lept out of the cabinet and stood by Mist before saying "if it's umm okay with you could I like stay with you like tonight if that's you know okay with you? Oh sorry I don't even know your name... Sorry if I was to eager I just... Yeah... Sorry"

Steel nodded "yeah it's mr really that interesting but I don't need to sleep so all of you go off to sleep I'll keep watch if I decide o want some sleep I'll wake somepony up" steel said as he sat on the couch pulling a dagger out spinning it in his hoof looking around the house

Mist chuckled slightly, "The names Mist, Mist Twister." Mist considered Sparkles question. He had never really spent much time with other ponies in the same house, well in this case cabin, let alone the same room. Sparkle was pretty scared though, "Alright," Said Mist,"I haven't chosen where to sleep so pick a room. You can have the bed or what ever and I'll sleep on the floor."

"Mist, I like it, it suits you in a good way " (a cute way...) Sparkle thought to herself " anyway to upstairs! Kinda... " Sparkle said running off embarrassed before coming back and saying " umm which room are we in Mist? I don't like making decisions... Plus we'll yeah it's kinda dark up there... "

Mist rolled his eyes. He walked half way up the stairs and stopped, "you coming or what?" Mist said to Sparkle. Mist entered the room closest to the stairs. He looked around and was pleased with the room. "this room will do nicely." he shouted down to Sparkle, "Sparkle I'm just in the room closest to the stairs."

"Umm... OK...ay? " Sparkle cautiously walked upstairs and into the darkness when she looked at Mist in the room which was light enough for sleeping in, in the corner was a small pile of cusions and a bed just big enough for a pony sat in the middle of the room underneath an extremely dusty light

Mist walked over to the cusions in the corner and sat down. The cusions were firm, defiantly not as cormfertable as the ones back home. He couldn't really complain though. He looked over at Sparkle, "you can have the bed, I'll sleep here tonight." he said as he lay on his back.

"Thanks Mist" Sparkle gave him a smallish kiss on the cheek as thanks "hey that's only for letting me have the bed and nothing else okay? Well maybe it was something else... What am I even saying? " Sparkle decided not to embarrass herself anymore and just lay on the bed

Mist blushed, "what happened to not your type?, " Mist asked jokingly. He chuckled. 'maybe this job won't be so bad after all' Mist thought to himself. He looked over at Sparkle, "I'm just letting you know before i go to sleep that if you need anything just wake me up. Night." Mist closed his eyes and went to sleep.

"Okay g'night" Sparkle said (well that couldn't have gone worse like at all there is literally no way that this could be worse and no Mr life that is not an invitation to freeze us all to death )she thought whilst curling up for warmth before slowly falling asleep as the blizzard raged on outside

Steel looked over at lily "go then" steel said "you need sleep to lily" he said as he pulled out a sharpening stone and began to tend to his blade after he sharpened it he began to buff and polish it taking out any scratches that may be on it he looked over at lily quickly before looking back to his work

Lily stared at him for a very long moment. "Well if you're sure you'll be ok all alone down here, If something happens let us know." She relecutantly pulled her stare away and headed upstairs to the master bedroom. It was spacious and had at least an alicorn sized bed with it's own private bath. "I could get used to this." Lily said while throwing her bags on the bed and unpacking.

Steel stopped for a second not sure how to react that was the first time a pony showed concern for his well being besides his family who in truth feared him after she went up stairs he sighed and shook his head "focus steel your mission is to kill the ice beast"

Lily threw her coat on the nearest chair and climbed into bed herself, throwing the warm blanket on top of her and curling up to help fight the cold, it wasn't too bad in the house but the blizard outside wasn't helping anything. She rolled over restlessly a few times, trying to get the image of Steel out of her head as she fell asleep hoping he'd be alright.

Steel went back to tending his blade trying to keep his moms off lily she had thrown him for a loop he wasn't paying much attention and cut his hoof and cursed under his breath he stood and began looking for a bandage he couldn't find one downstairs so he went up dripping blood the whole way

Lily rolled over once in her sleep, she was usually a pretty heavy sleeper but her being distracted kept her from sleeping right. As she was rolling over she thought she heard a noise comming up the stairs. She put it on the wind and closed her eyes when she heard the dull thud of something walking up the stairs again. Lily quitely put on her armor hoping whatever it was wouldn't hear in case the monster got in then very slowly opened the door and stepped into the dark hallway and stopped for a moment to let her eyes adjust.
