Were Discord and Sombra co-rulers?

Both were allegedly around 1000 years ago, both reigns ended due to being overthrown by Celestia and Luna. Maybe Discord had a respect for King Sombra for the way he treated other ponies and agreed that Sombra could rule the Crystal Empire whilst he played with the rest of Equestria.

Um, no. Discord was around over a thousand years, so it might have been decades, centuries, even longer between when Discord was around and when Sombra showed up. Also I'm pretty sure it's never been stated Celestia and Luna sealed him around a thousand years.

 

Plus the comics detailed the origins of Sombra, and he certainly never interacted with Discord.

From what I see Discord's reign was overthrown before Sombra came into the scene. Or from a headcanon perspective maybe Sombra quickly took advantage of the weakened state of the Crystal Empire on the aftermath of Discord's activities and took over it.
