spoiler my theory on how starlight stalemated twilight

I was like you, one of many who,( though i loved the episode) was confused as to how starlight managed to stalemate twilight in a battle of magic. here is the answer! (according to my theory) AHEM.

 

i believe that starlights special talent is magic nullification, this can be seen by her ability to remove cutie marks. it is my theory that starlight can nullify the magic of anypony around her to a certain degree, and that is exactly what she was doing against twilight. it is completely absurd to say a single unicorn could stalemate a alicorn as we saw that 5 alicorns= all pony magic when twilight battled tirek.
