private Rick and Cipher: The Case of the Channel Warper

Rick sat in front of his old work desk in the garage lifting a small vial with a pair of metal tongs, he had a focused expression on his face as he slowly began to drop the vial of glowing blue liquid into a strange box containing a sleeping leprechaun. He had started this experiment since day break and now, finally he was sure to get some important data.

 

"Rick!" yelled a whining voice from the door behind him , losing Rick's concentration as the vial fell beside the sleeping creature , waking him up , the leprechaun quickly snapped his fingers and disappeared. " *sigh* What is it, Jerry?" Rick sighed, as he swiveled his chair towards his son-in-law standing angrily by the door.

 

"I've been telling you to fix the inter-dimensional Cable for weeks! " Jerry whined,as the game between the blargon RedRocks and a group of mildy indifferent teenagers had been interrupted by yet another blast of loud static covering the screen. "I'm not your *Burp* mechanic Jerry" Rick belched, he knew he could have easily fixed the Cable but he was never one to enjoy being pushed around.

 

"Just have it fixed by this afternoon! or I'm kicking you out of the house" Jerry bluffed an empty threat, knowing his wife would never approve of such an action. "Fine" Rick replied with an annoyed tone as he stood up from his seat and grabbed his favorite wrench.

[BILL CIPHER 61]

Walking towards the entrance to the living room, Rick sighed as he turned the screws and opened the battery compartment. Replacing it with new ones, he took another swig of his beer container tucked in his pocket. Turning back towards the door, he heard the front door close shut as the voices of Morty and Summer shouted, "WE'RE HOME!". Rick headed to greet them as Jerry left the house for work.

 

Summer zipped past Rick and ignored his little "hi." The first thing Summer always did after school was plop down on the couch and, as most girls her age would do, start texting. Morty hung back for a while and started a conversation with Rick. After some few minutes, Rick cut Morty off just as he was talking about Jessica. He left, muttering something about "work" and "no time for s***" along the way.

Small sparks began to creak out of the Inter-dimensional cable box as the television's screen began to increase in static. a face began to form from the static as a creature slowly creeped it's way out of the screen. 

 

The lime green cartoony creature was 7 ft tall in height with a chubby torso and long spindly legs,  the expression on his face was blank and derpy and the top of his bald scalp was covered by a top hat. "MAGIC!" He spoke in a comical tone as he whipped his long elongated arm towards Rick, gently bumping his nose before nicking his wrench. 

 

"H-...Hey! That's mine!" Rick cried gripping the wrench tight with both his hands trying his best to keep the beast from stealing it, but the creature's pull was too strong as he quickly brought the wrench into the screen. vanishing from site as the static began to wane. Jerry walked ignorantly into the room seeing the television seemingly fixed and smiled. "Hey! you fixed it !"

 

"R-R-R-Rick....What the bleep was that?!" Morty stammered as he looked at his father with a worried and panicked expression. "It was a Channel Warper Morty, They go from dimension to dimensional nicking random junk" Rick explained as he shuffled around the front pocket of his lab coat. "But Why?" Morty asked , increasingly curious about the strange creature. "because they're A##holes,Morty, they're giant %#$king A#%holes" Rick replied as he fished a small flash light like device from his coat pocket and aimed it towards the wall. "I'll be back before dinner" Rick spoke with a mono-tone voice , slightly annoyed that he has to deal with such a creature as he fired the device towards a nearby wall creating a large purple portal through the wall. "Rick! Wait!" Morty hurriedly exclaimed , wanting to be a part of the adventure. "Stay here, Morty, the Bast#$d made it personal when he nicked my wrench!" Rick called back as he walked into the portal.

[BILL CIPHER 61]

On the other side of the Multiverse, in the sleepy town of Gravity Falls, Dipper Pines flipped through his journal. He was so desperate to find more about the author he had just met. Who would have known it was his own Grunkle? He was too stressed out that he fell asleep, even though it was so early in the afternoon.

 

Little did he know that Bill Cipher was watching him from the Mindscape, laughing at Dipper's frustration. Suddenly, a portal opened up in front of him, blocking his view of Dipper. "Hey, do you mind?", he said. The creature crawling out of it didn't reply, but he grabbed Bill, holding him up. "He-HEY! PUT ME DOWN! I'VE GOT POWERS THAT EVEN A BIG, STUPID CREATURE LIKE YOU COULD NOT WITHSTA-"

 

But the monster ignored him. He shook Bill around. Finally, he threw Bill down. Just before the creature left, he pounded on Bill one more time, then he took his hat and jumped through the portal, which disappeared.

 

"What...was that... Did that guy....WHAT WAS THAT? He rubbed his head. "Wait.... My hat! DAMMIT, THAT LITTLE JERK STOLE MY F***ING HAT!" He snapped his fingers, making a portal. "I'LL SHOW THAT MONSTER WHO THE BOSS IS AROUND HERE!" He went through.

Bill passed through his portal, warping himself through to an endless clearing of space and stars, the thin fabric between dimensions.an old man sat in the distance, affixing a satellite-like device to the ground. "Oh look, another Poindexter!" He said excitedly as he warped himself in front of the old man all the while masking his appearance by a large puff of smoke. "Hey there! You seem like a pretty smart fella'" Bill spoke in a kind friendly voice.

"I am B-."

"not interested" Rick replied, completely disinterested with the strange triangular being as he fixed up his device.

 

"What?! But I was going to offer you immense knowledge of the universe o_o"

 

"Not interested, take your *burp* scams somewhere else" Rick replied again. As he input a code into the machines master control. "I'm just here to get my junk back"

[BILL CIPHER 61]

"Well, I'm here to get my 'junk' too, ya know. I'm here to get my hat, if you call that junk. And what's an old man in a lab coat doing here, anyway? What did ya lose? Your teeth?" He laughed.

 

"I'm here to get my wrench, genius.", Rick replied impatiently. "And according to my scanner here, you're three quadrillion years old, so... Well, I wish I had time to laugh at you and call you grandpa, but who cares anyway, I've got more important stuff to do."

 

"Apparently, I have an excuse to be old, I'm immortal!", Bill said. "And I don't need to give you anything anyway, Grandpa, knows all, anyway, huh? Hahaha-"

 

Rick interrupted him. "Look, triangle magic...dude.. I don't know who you are or why you would even bother looking for a hat, but I've got a message for you: BUZZ OFF."

Rick turned his attention back to his machine and pulled the large lever at it's base. one after another portals began to form around them. each leading to a different show in the cartoon universe. One portal had an imaginary blue creature roaming around a foster home before having his paddle ball nicked by the warper, another , a battle between a samurai from the past and a gang of robotic creatures was interrupted by the warper taking his sword. All around them the portals led to different worlds and nearly all of them were being affected by the green beast. The portals turned from a cosmic purple to a tangy green as each world fell prey to the warper.

 

"That A#&hole is working fast" Rick said as he scanned the portals for an unaffected world. 

 

Bill floated behind the focused old man as he stared in awe at all the portals. He was surprised at how easy the human could create them at will. an event he was unable to complete in thousands of years of manipulation and trickery.

"How.... How... How did you...But...only I can do that..." Bill stammered. "You're not the only scientific genius around here, bud." Rick replied.

 

"But I learned that when I was... Hmmmm, about 1294? I'm actually not sure..." Bill was vastly surprised by the man's genius. "Look, triangle, if you wanna help me, you gotta start now. I'm looking for a portal which the monster hasn't gone through yet." Bill looked around for any portal that the monster hadn't yet touched. He spotted a portal with a blue cat talking to his friends. "THERE!" Bill cried.

Rick looked at the strange dimension that Bill was gesturing towards and immediately started running towards it . "I don't have much time!" Rick thought as he hurried towards the portal. "Hey! wait for me!" Bill called as he floated behind him.

 

"I didn't say you could come" 

 

"I didn't ask"

 

Rick jumped through the portal crashing hard on top of the blue cat. as bill gently floated down. "Gumball!" Shouted an orange fish seeing his brother being crushed. "Uhmmm, Excuse me sir, could you please get off of him" Darwin asked Rick politely, he was always one to be polite to elders ."Ger meh  gaggr gere" Gumball muffled under the weight of Rick ."What did he say?" Penny wondered as she saw her boyfriend being squashed by the human above him. "I think he said , get me out of here" Darwin replied , being adept at understanding his brother's muffling.

"What's that triangle doing there?", Penny asked.

"Look, weirdo, I don't know how you got here or what you're doing here, but.. But I'm calling the police!" Darwin threatened.

 

"Oh, yeah? Well, I don't have time for your little threats, I wanna know if a green, dark, derpy creature was here.", Rick said.

 

"What? I've never seen one of those, but..uh, we can..keep a lookout for one.. But first, apologize to Gumball!"

 

As they talked, Bill thought to himself, "Hmmm, this is a big world... I think it's time to cause some chaos!"

"Sigh, I'm sorry ...little blue...cat...thing" Rick said giving a half hearted apology as he began looking around their surroundings .they seemed to be in a school yard filled with strange and varying creatures. "Hey that wasn't very nice!" Darwin lectured as he helped gumball on his feet. "Oh , don't worry about him,kid, he's just a cranky old man, I ,on the other hand , am a nice guy" bill assured as he extended his hand towards gumball .

 

As Rick looked around for a screen from which the warper could enter he began to hear maniacal laughter from behind him. It was the blue cat but his eyes looked different and his expression more menacing. Bill was also nowhere to be found.

Gumball walked towards Rick, still laughing. "Holy c***, triangle, where are you?", Rick said, shaking in fear.

 

"Right here.", Gumball said. He punched Rick, knocking him out. "RIGHT HERE."

 

The last thing Rick heard before fainting was maniacal laughter and fingers snapping.

Rick awoke, minutes later, to the sounds of loud police sirens and screams of panic and fear. His eyes opened slowly as he saw GumBill laughing like a mad man on top of the school's roof as a squad of Policemen arrive , their appearance similar to that of a group of Donuts with arms and legs. The Donut sheriff walked out of the car , and looked at the boy. "Gumball?!" The Sheriff thought, for some reason he had not felt all that surprised that Gumball was the cause of all the commotion.

 

Rick looked to his left at Darwin and Penny. the expression on their faces were different that the others, they seemed calm and indifferent. "So why aren't you panicking" Rick listlessly asked as he brought himself to his feet. "This sort of thing happens a lot" Darwin replied . "and it usually works itself out in about half an hour or so" Penny added as he saw Gumbill looking back at the officer.

 

A few feet away, Bobert, a small robot child suddenly stopped panicking as he scratched the screen that displayed his eye . little bits of static began to form from the screen as the little robot scratched further.

"Holy s***, what is going on?", Rick wondered. Police jets came zooming in, trying to get Gumbill off the roof.

 

"Listen, kid," the sheriff shouted through a megaphone, "Get down here now or it's weeks in jail!" "HAHAHAHA! LIKE I WOULD EVEN LISTEN TO A PUNY DONUT LIKE YOU!" Gumbill screamed back.

The static on bobert's screen began to increase before a large green creature crawled out and warped itself behind bill.

 

" With this new body I am unstoppable! I am-" Bill Gloated before being suddenly pulled up by the arm by the strange derpy creature. "MAAAGGIICC!" The Channel warper screamed before pulling off gumball's pants , flinging gumbill off the roof as bill left gumball's body before he crashed into the ground in front of Rick.

 

"Nice going , Pyramid thing, now the Warper is getting away" Rick said dissapointingly as he crossed his arms.

Bill ignored Rick. "DANG IT! I WAS ABOUT TO DOMINATE THIS CIVILIZATION AND THAT JERK RUINED IT!"

 

Rick sighed and said, "Ugh, who cares about you? THE MONSTER GOT AWAY, YOU B****! And it's all YOUR FAULT!" Bill rolled his eye.

 

"You could've actually HELPED if it wasn't for your POSSESSING OBSESSION, YOU F***ER!"

"Whatever, Old Man" Bill replied as he got back on his feet and began to float in the air. All of a sudden a shadowy figure leaped over them as it blitzed it's way towards back towards Bobert. 

 

"It's the Warper!" Rick yelled running towards the warper as it jumped into Bobbert eyes causing the static portal to slowly close. "Son of a B#tch! I'm not gonna make it"

 

Bill sighed as he snapped his finger and appeared beside Rick "I'm only helping you so I can get my hat back, got it?" He added as held Rick's Coat zipped through the portal right before it closed.

 

Gumball was still dazed after what had just happened and what's worse he was no longer wearing any pants while in school, it was like a nightmare , nothing could possible make it worse.

 

"Cuff him boys!" Sheriff Doughnut ordered as the mini donuts handcuffed the pantsless Gumball. "But I....It wasn't...I didn't even...sigh, fine" Gumball garbled before accepting it. 

 

 

 

Rick and Cipher fell towards what appeared to be a laboratory of some kind. "Where are we?" Rick thought as he got up on his feet.

A young teenager with snowy white hair and glowing green eyes phased through the wall in front of them , he noticed them both and glared at Bill. 

[BILL CIPHER 61]

Bill looked at Danny Phantom. "What.... Who.... Ghost....huh?"he said. Danny thought he was another ghost villain and aimed a punch at him. Bill shook his head and snapped his fingers, locking Danny in chains. Suddenly, Bill changed into a human, then grabbed Danny by the arm and said, "Look, kid, today I've possessed a body, gone into at least two dimensions, and run into a boring old man-" "What?" Rick asked. Bill sighed and continued. "run into an old man. I am capable of things you cannot imagine and if you punch with that white little hand of yours I SWEAR I will turn you into nothing but black and green SLIME."

" We don't have time for this!" Yelled Rick pushing the two apart , "We have to stop the warper before-" Rick's warning was interrupted by the sound of large cracks in the fabric of time as tears in space began appearing around them.

 

"Sh*T Sh*t Sh*T Sh*t , We're too late! It's started" Rick spoke as he gazed into the portals. "W-..What's started?" Cipher asked, wondering why the old man was now suddenly panicking. "The Multiverses are colliding You D*ck! , Worlds are starting to meld into one because that a##hole keeps messing with the fabric that separates the Channels" Rick explained.

 

"We have to stop him! we don't have long before-"

 

"Booyah! , See I told you It  would take us some where cool!" A cyborg gloated at his shape shifting friend, interrupting Rick's warning,  as they passed from the portal.

 

"Aang! Hold on! That thing could be dangerous!" Warned a man's voice from another portal as a bald kid with an arrow on his head jumped through the portal as he rode atop a ball of spinning air.

 

"Before things like "that" start happening" Rick continued noticing all the different characters from different worlds stumbling into the lab.

 

"Everyone! Get back to your worlds! you're making it worse!" Rick yelled hoping to stop the madness and prevent the destruction of the multiverse,

"I'll do this," Bill said, pushing Rick aside. He shut his eye and chanted an ancient spell. Everyone thought it was nonsense, but Bill had knew this spell ever since he was a little demon. "HDIENDGAINFYEIBFGFUENDB DHRINFURNVBHFRINF DHDVEUF FRYDBRUFVURBFIFRBF...."

 

Everyone was laughing except for Rick. As Bill chanted the spell, everyone rose up but Rick and Danny. People were zoomed back to their own dimensions. The fabric was not fixed but the people were.

 

As he finished the spell the Cipher wheel appeared on his head then disappeared.

"Well at least we have *that* taken care of, let's go find the warper." Rick said as he gestured his search. The ghost boy stood confused at what had just happened, he's dealt with the channel verse before but never in such a crisis. " I'm coming to help you!" Danny called as he got to his feet. he couldn't let the universe just be destroyed without his say in it." It's your funeral, kid" Bill rolled his eye as he floated along beside them.  

 

as they all left the room a blue cat snuck out from under the table. "I *huff* have to get my pants back" Gumball panted as he got to his feet. 

[BILL CIPHER 61]

Bill turned back and punched Gumball in the face. "Deal with it, kid. You're not finding them for a really long time."

 

Rick rolled his eyes and dragged Bill into a portal he had just made. "Come on, genius, we've gotta go if we wanna find that stupid hat or yours and my wrench."

 

Bill pulled away. "HEY, YOU DON'T TOUCH ME LIKE THAT, GRANDPA! You don't wanna mess with me."

 

"And YOU don't wanna mess with ME, either," Rick said.

The two enter the portal into a strange world. This one filled with trinkets from the channel verse.

"where are we? " Bill wondered as he saw the seemingly endless sea of trinkets and treasure.

" the only *burp* place left that hasn't been destroyed" Rick replied with a belch in the middle.

" the warper's world"

 

"correction" said a familiar dragon in voice... "It's my world" Discord added as he appeared with a snap.

The Warper appeared as well, handing Discord Bills hat. Discord wore the hat and grinned at the two.

"HEY, THAT'S MY HAT! GIVE IT TO ME, YOU JERK!", Bill screamed. He paused. "Wait... DISCORD?! HOW COULD YOU?! WE WERE FREAKING CLASSMATES IN COLLEGE, DUDE!"

 

Rick was surprised that the two recognized each other. "Just to be clear," he said, "you two were F***ING FRIENDS?! You must have planned this, didn't you?", he shouted, pointing at Bill. "A little trust trick to get me into your F***ING TRAP, huh? WELL,LA DEE DAH, IT FAILED!"

Rick immediately fished a gun from his coat that looked like something out of a science fiction movie. How could he have trusted this one eyed creature. Now there was no turning back.

"Oh come now" Discord grinned as he snapped his fingers, immediately turning gun into a flower. "It wasn't old bill's fault" He chuckled as he moved towards them "though I admit, it *does* sound like something he would do... But in this case... It was all me."

"B-but *burp* why?"

"I suppose I may as well tell you" He smiled as he tipped his fingers.
"let me ask you this, do you know how many seasons my show has left? 2! That's right! After that, there will be no more Discord! no more Celestia! ... And no more... *sniffle* Fluttershy."

"When I first thought about it, I was horrified of course, but then I got an idea! A most wonderful idea... What if Mlp was the *only* Show on television... "
