Any tips on making Shoegaze/Chillwave

AmbientBeat

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to up my game on making my favorite genres. The Shoegaze and Chillwave genres are among them. My Ambient Beat project goes for that heavily processed yet beautiful sound. But I need tips on exactly what effects are commonly used, and such, especially from fan of those genres.

You could try blending in some acoustic elements if you like, and heavy delays can be used in some really creative ways. A simple beat and some medium-heavy sidechaining can work nicely too ^^

This band is my favorite (in this genre), and could be interesting to listen to.

My best friend loves this artist, so check it out if you please :3

As with any sort of electronica, it may worth having a pack of samples (drums in particular are nice) that are specifically designed for the genre.

Best of luck! :D
