Okay first off, I've never heard of a city where actual officers answer 911 calls. Generally, you have a call center person who is trained to calm people down on the phone and know how to keep the people calm and talking and get the answers they need in order to dispatch help.

2. They are supposed to ANSWER the call "911 What is your emergency?" - I mean get to the point right off the bat. This guy NEVER even bothered to ask. & then he says No you're not getting an ambulance. WTF.

3. Even telemarketers/phone customer service operators are not allowed to hang up like that, if they swear at you, you have to say "sir, ma'am if you keep swearing at me, i will have to disconnect the call" ... how the f**k does 911 HANGUP not once not twice but repeatedly?!

4. He only got suspension w/o pay for 2 weeks and a training class? WTF. When someone has a seizure, they can have massive brain damage the longer it goes on, and after calling 911 several times she WALKS to the police dept and they arrest/detain her?

 

"Not our finest hour" ... yeah he should have gotten fired. I hope they sue his pants off.

i have never made a 911 call (112 in most of Europe) but I wouldn't see it as a moment where i have to be careful of what i say, keeping calm is a key figure but it shouldn't matter what comes out of your mouth.

you would think people would panic and swear on 911 all the time. i would assume the officer was not properly trained. no matter what he reacted wrong.
