Jonagold looked at the ground embarrassed when he had been caught. "Err, my bad." Just around a corner, the restaurant came into view. It wasn't a very big building, but it was all they needed. "Funny you should mention it. Are you ready to go in?" He said as he held the door open for his new friend.

They sat down at one of the free tables, she sat opposite of him, "so what is good at this place cose i'll have that whatever it may been I am so hungry." She gave him a pleasant smile, "don't worry about the tripping earlier we all trip time to time it happens, you don't need to be worried."

"I guess you are right. I've heard that there are good hayburgers here." As he finished that statement, a waiter walked up to take their order. "I would like a hayburger and a water, please," said Jonagold. He was particularly thirsty after the walk to the restaurant.

The waiter then passed her a glance, "I'll have the same juct and orange juice instead of water though." the waiter wrote the orders down and left them.

 

"so when were you here last then, is the food gonna be as good?" Sapphire lifted the fork and knife with her magic and inspected them, very clean good.

"I sure hope its good. Every other pony seems to enjoy their meals, so I can only assume it's good." It did look very good. If their service shows anything, it's that they know what they are doing. "I here the orange juice is very good here." His neighbor raved about this restaurant after they first came here.

"of course the orange juice is good it will of come from one of my family's farms, see here." Sapphire pointed to the flower in her mane.

"this is from my own farm in the north near the crystal Empire, Orange Grove, I wonder which farm this juice comes from shall be interesting to find out."

"You must have come from a long way off. Are you from there as well? I once visited the Crystal Empire to watch the Equestria Games," Jonagold said while admiring the flower in Sapphire's mane. It was a nice flower, he assumed it was still alive through some sort of magic, but he didn't know much about magic.

"Yes I was born there, long way from here but I live in Ponyville now I still get out there from time to time, it's great to see the family once in awhile," She noticed how her eyed her flower. "If you were wondering, I kept the flower alive with a simple spell I created when I left home it doesn't even require my attention for it to work, the spell. So where do you come from?"

"I used to live a few kilometers outside of Ponyville with my mother, Goldie Delicious. I moved away about a year ago, though. I still miss home, but there just weren't any opportunities there." This had been the first time he had talked about home since he moved away, but he didn't want to bore Sapphire with a dusty old cabin. "You must be good with magic to find a spell like that."

"I am somewhat talented yes I mean i'm nothing to write home about but I do have some more skill than most so it's kinda cool," Sapphire drank some of the juice "ah this is from Scarlet's farm, yep has that earthiness to it, by the way Scarlet is one of my cousins if you were wondering."

 

The waiter came and put down a hayburger for the pair of them.

Jonagold took the hayburger in his hooves, but soon found it was too hot to begin immediately, so he set it back down and sipped his drink instead. "Your family must be skilled in growing oranges. I guess I've never really given orange growing much thought," he said as he tried to grab the hayburger and found it had cooled down a bit.

Sapphire levitated her burger in front of her just to the side so she could talk to Jonagold, "well yeah the family is the main producer of oranges for the entire country just like, the Apples, Bananas, Strawberries and so on we just make the oranges but Scarlet's farm is the best producing area most yield per season." She took a bite.

"If the rest of your family is made up of unicorns like you, I assume you all must have some earth pony blood running in your family. Is that correct?" he asked as he took a bite from his hayburger and had another sip of his drink, which he note to be of better quality than at other restaurants.

"Made up of unicorns, haha no apart from my sister and one of my cousins everypony else in my family are earth ponies, i'm the only unicorn in my whole family, in three generations so i'm rather special in the family." Sapphire moved her burger to her mouth and took another bite. "so yeah kinda special."

"I see, so you are rather unique." Jonagold thought back to his foalhood. He was always surrounded by earth ponies, and only knew a few unicorns. He had always found unicorns and pegasi interesting, but especially unicorns. "You must have been a big help with your magic," Jonagold assumed.

"yeah I was, it made a lot of the farmhooves jealous when I could harvest half a dozen trees at a time so dad loved the crap out of me for that, a little more than my older sister but anyway i'm not that special as a unicorn I mean I can cast some powerful spells but nothing amazing not special enough to go to the special school in Canterlot like Twilight, I mean Princess Twilight." Sapphire took another bite.

Jonagold took another sip from his drink to cool his mouth. "I don't suppose you can cast a spell that will cool this hayburger a bit," he said with a chuckle, although he wasn't entirely joking. He figured he could just talk for a while as he waited for it to go down to a more reasonable temperature.

"Um not like that but I can do somthing for you." sapphire put down her burger and took his with her magic then shook it furiously for a moment then put it back on his plate and picked up her own. "that should do that all the aerating will have cooled your burger."

Jonagold chuckled at Sapphire's ingenuity and grabbed the hayburger again to find it had cooled down adequately. "Thank you! It looks like you know what you're doing with this." It was a good thing he had got the napkin earlier, because as the hayburger was shook, some sauce had dripped out onto the table. Jonagold then proceeded to clean the table off.

"Well at least you can eat it now, despite the lack of some of the source well eating...well sorry about that." Sapphire gives a half hearted smile, then took another bite of her burger she had nearly eaten it all so would finish soon. "So what's the plan after this nice meal?"

Jonagold was also nearing the end of his meal, and then checked the time. "I don't have anywhere that I need to be for a while. I suppose we can start the trot back soon, and see what there is to be done," Jonagold suggested as he finished his drink and was close to finishing his meal.

"oh really? I want to see more of this city, and you're a local can you show me the sights I mean I don't know when I'll be back to this fine city." Sapphire took her last bite and finished off her burger and also finished her drink. "so where as a fine citizen of this city take a tourist?"

Jonagold placed a few bits on the table as a tip for the good service. "I insist on paying the tip. There are quite a few places to see around here. The Fillydelphia Zoo isn't too far from here. We could visit there for a while. New visitors can come for free and I have a month pass, so it would be free."

"The zoo hey, why not and if it's free then all the better then." Sapphire stood up and tucked in her stool. "so what they got at the zoo then Mr gold or Jona, I never get that right with ponies with one name I mean I say my name is Sapphire but I have a last name so I get past that problem what do you do?"

"You can call me whatever you want, although some ponies prefer to just call me Jon. The last time I visited, they had a draconequus by the name of Discord transforming animals, but he has been told to stop. I hear there is a new manticore at the zoo." Jonagold replied they same way he normally replied when ponies asked his name.
