So, this is pretty much my first serious video and I'm looking for feedback, mainly on my commentary and what not. I actually kinda got the idea for this video from a thread on here. It was all unscripted and just me rambling edited down.

 

Be warned as there might be what's considered a few mildly inappropriate parts, nothing super severe at all though so you should be fine... I hope.

I think the video editing is the best part, and the audio is alright.

 

It's really tough to give critique on the content because the whole video is a lot of personal opinions. It felt like the audience you're talking to are friends and family (people not familiar to fandoms at all), but then you start saying things like "I don't need to explain this, you know already." There wasn't a clear message or idea you were trying to convey. If I didn't know anything about fandoms before this video, I still wouldn't know anything after watching it. There was no real content for people who do know what you're talking about either. It didn't seem like you knew who your audience was, you just skated somewhere in the middle. It really was just a random tangent of thought, seven minutes of you saying "fandoms are weird, let me tell you how weird they are, they are weird, I am weird, I'm self aware that I'm rambling."

 

There wasn't really any content, it felt more like you were halfway confessing some thoughts that have been personally bothering you, but being afraid that what you might say would offend someone, so you ended up not really saying anything at all. Also, you kinda sound like Star_ in how you delivered the message and edited the video.

 

I think you have a good idea for a video, but needs some more work put into it to create a complete idea. How you'd do that is up to you. Just my opinion, take with a grain of salt.

Yeah, I didn't really have a direction for this video at first and I just wanted to talk about fanbases so I booted up my recording software at 3 AM and went from there. That's where I guess the main issues originated from and having more of a direction/audience in mind is definitely useful advice that I'll keep in mind when I make my next video.

 

I might come back to the subject with your new advice and talk a little more in-depth and maybe focusing on one fandom instead to help make things easier to follow for the audience. It'd be mainly for practice, though.

 

Also, huh, I've never been compared to Star_ before so that's pretty cool.
