Karas saw Sparkle collapse to the ground. She was definitely affected with the poison that the bear gave her.

 

"Shit! She's hit!"

 

It flew down to her, and looked her over, checking her wounds, "That thing got you good. Hopefully there's some kind of poison antidote, somewhere around here."

Second Sight's eyes widened, the stingray strafing in front of the bear, the laser turret turning on it's AI and locking on to the bear, still firing.

 

'Shit... Haven't found an antidote for that yet...' He cursed.

 

Shooting the bear's face to get it's attention, he called to the others: "There's a cave hidden by a bunch of vines and shrubbery to the north west of here! That's my base, there's a small chemistry lab in there, use it to find the antidote while I lead this thing away."

Redwood wasted no time picking up Sparkle, putting her on her back, and mounting the stingray.

 

Redwood said to the rest of the group, "C'mon, let's get goin'. Ah said it before and ah'll say it again, ah ain't lettin' Sparkle die."

 

She then looked at Second Sight and said, "Ah sure hope you can whip somethin' up."

Narrowly avoiding one of the bear's swipes, he called back at overlord: "I specialise in magic and technology, Redwood! I'm not a medic!".

 

He grit his teeth, driving the stingray into the tree line once more. 'I didn't make an antidote. If the bear attacked me along I would have been dead anyway, venom or not.' He lamented. He spared a second to think.

 

"The only other mammal with poison is the platypus, and it already has an antidote! Try to work with that!"

"So what, you want me to find a platypus and kill it? Where th' hell am ah even supposed to find one and what would ah do with it after it's dead? Oh, wait, you want me to kill th' bear or at least find some way to get th' antidote outta it. Should ah go and try to cut its throat out or somethin'?"

Karas looked around. Where could they find a platypus at this hour?

 

"Well I know for a fact that platypuses do indeed inhabit near watery swampland. So, maybe we should start there. If it's the only thing we can do, all we need is the venom. Not to kill an innocent creature."

"No, we need to get th' stuff from th' bear, not a platypus," Redwood said to Karas.

 

"Hold on a minute, couldn't we just take some 'o th' stuff that already bursted outta th' bear?" She asked Second Sight, "Cuz cuttin' out th' bear's throat actually sounds kinda stupid."

Karas actually managed a small smile. The idea of trying to kill something they could barely run off without someone getting hurt as what just occurred, sounded amusing to say the least, "And even if we could kill it, it doesn't mean we should. What if other bears notice its loved one is dead and come after us all, then we'd all be knee deep in shit."

 

It looked at what was on the ground, "I agree with Red. It'd make more sense."

When the plasma ran out, Shadow cursed, then he tossed the gun and dropped on the bear, grabbed a pole out of a portal and placed it on the bottom of the neck. He said as he pulled back on both sides of the pole,

"Why don't all of ya try to get an antidote for Sparkle, and possibly think of a plan, while I hold the bear off."

"Th' cap'n's right, we oughtta focus on makin' sure Sparkle don't die." Said Redwood.

 

"Second Sight, grab some 'o th' bear's goop, and let's get goin' to yer lab."

 

Redwood then laid Sparkle on the back of the stingray, looked her in the eyes, and said, "Sparkle, ah promised you ain't gonna die."

"If I get the goop, who's gonna lead this thing away?" He yelled, the Stingray bouncing off the side of a tree. "Take some of the poison and head to my hideout to the northwest. You can't miss it. It's a gaping cave 'camouflaged' by vines."

 

Second sight moved out of earshot, leading the bear away from the group

Redwood did as Second Sight said and took a hoofful of goop, putting it in a pocket in her vest. She then took the controls of the Stingray and headed in the direction of Second Sight's hideout.

 

Redwood arrived within a few minutes, parking the stingray outside of the cave. She picked up Sparkle and took her inside.

 

"C'mon, Sparkle, hold on just a little longer. Ah'll get you fixed up."

 

Redwood gently put Sparkle on a bed of hay and put the goop from the bear in a glass vial on what she assumed was the chemistry station.

 

Redwood flicked on her radio, making sure to broadcast on all frequencies, and said, "Second Sight, if you can hear this, ah got Sparkle to th' cave and ah've got th' bear goop ready. You gotta tell me what to do with it."

Karas took to the air, and started to fly back until it looked at the captain. It was a tad concerned for him due to the fact that it knew that sticking together would be the safest option for them all.

It flew over to him, "Sir. I'm staying with you. It's not safe alone."

Shadow grabbed the pole and the gun and said as he tossed them into the portal,

"Okay, Ya could help me look around this planet, there's got to be something that might help us."

He reached into a portal and pulled out a bag and a pistol. Then he started walking away from the forest and the ship

Karas grabbed its homemade grenade launcher, and started hovering alongside the captain.

"Alright. We also need to find food for everyone. Its been a while since we have eaten, so we need to find some plants and water. You have any ideas on where we should look?"

"I don't really know where exactly to look. We just look everywhere. Second said that we can filter the water here, but that leaves metal for the ship, food, medicine, just in case we run out, and information about this place. Second hasn't been here for a long time, so he doesn't know everything."

Redwood rummaged around Second Straight's hideout for a bottle of disinfectant but couldn't find any, so she instead took out her flask and a roll of bandages. She poured some of her tequila on the bandages and went to tend to Sparkle.

 

"This is gonna hurt a little," said Redwood as she applied the bandages as best she could.

 

Second Sight wasn't responding, and it was a real possibility that he didn't have a radio.

 

Redwood switched her radio's frequency to the one used by the crew and said, "This is Redwood, ah'm at Second Sight's hideout and Sparkle ain't doin' too good. Ah've got th' materials ah need fer th' antidote, but ah don't know what to do. Please, somepony, respond."

Karas bit its lip back a little. It would be a difficult endeavor indeed to find all that they needed. One that would require....a map of some sorts....

It suddenly had an idea, "My portable security PDA would show a topographic map of the surrounding area. If we find it, we could at least figure out the area's terrain."

Shadow nodded and said, 

"Okay, that will be the first thing we do. Then we'll get the stuff we need. Do you have a small clue on how to find it?"

His bag started going off. He stopped, grabbed the radio out, flipped it on, and said,

"This is captain Shadow, please repeat what you said"

Karas started describing his security PDA, "It's flat, transparent, and makes a beeping sound if it hasn't been used in a while in case I lose it."

 

It actually looked a tad worried, "Luckily, it is solar powered, but we can't afford a wild animal destroying it."

Shadow nodded and said as his ear flicked,

"That's that it beeps, Let's keep walking, I might hear it."

He placed the radio in the bag and reached into a portal, then he pulled out a scythe and  placed it on his back, right between his wings and resumed walking.

"Oh, thank Celestia you're there cap'n. Ah'm at Second Sight's hideout and Ah'm with Sparkle. She's wounded bad, and that bear thing poisoned her or somethin'. Ah've got th' things ah need to make th' antidote, but ah don't know how to do it. Sparkle's fadin' fast, and ah urgently need help."

Karas nodded, and hovered alongside the captain as he walked, "We have to be careful, though. Who knows what kinds of wildlife may be out at this time and attracted to such a noise that it makes."

 

Its ear flicked. It could hear it. The PDA was about a half mile from where they were, but it was quiet enough for it to barely hear the noise it made, "This way..." it said, flying forward faster.

Shadow stood on his hind legs and grabbed the radio out of the bag. Then he said as he kept walking, 

"What have you done. I need to know what exactly you've done to help and not waste time telling you what you already did. Better yet, I'm coming over. Just don't light up the place."

As he placed the radio back in his bag, he said as he placed all of his stuff down.

"I need you to wait here. Do ya know how to wield a scythe, just in case?

"Sir, ah bandaged up Sparkle th' best ah could, but it's th' venom that's killin' her. Ah've got some goop that came from th' bear, and that's supposed to be what we need for th' antidote. It's safe here at th' hideout though, and ah don't think th' bear is gonna come knocking'."
