OC help please?

Erm. She's pink.

This is Moon Sugar, in her canon-most design. 

 

I love her design (Any suggestions for tweaks I'd also enjoy) 

 

I love to doodle her, and her design, name and color scheme came from a designing and devolving a Sailor Moon Pony I was working on. 

 

I... Have no idea how she got her cutie mark, or what her talent could be. I make ponies backwards it seems!

 

 

Personality: Dreamy, aloof, quiet, spacey

Flaw: Absolutely no sense of direction. Get's lost easily. Probably has to camp out a lot because of this. Probably trusts to easily because she depends on a lot of ponies to lead her around. 

Cutie Mark: Star Gazing, Star watching

 

I'm not much of a roleplayer by any means--So any clever writers there have any ideas to help flesh out Moon Sugar I would be most grateful!

Thanks for the helpful offer!!! She suffers from 'mascot-syndrome' and is just sort of a pretty face. 

 

When I draw her, I like to draw her very aloof and dreamy, when I did dabble in roleplaying I made all her speaking lines rhyme, being a bit poetic might be something I'd like to keep.

Yes! I dreamer type, soft quieter type. Like a not shy fluttershy. I like the artist idea a lot! 

I also like Ponies with a flaw--I was thinking maybe for a flaw she has no sense of direction? And just get's lost easily. 

It's so much easier thinking of ideas with another person to bounce them off of.

Not having any direction in both the literal and figurative sense would work for a flaw. She seems like she'd be spacey, and not really understand social cues.

The biggest one is I have no clue for why her cutey mark is a moon, or how she got it. But adding traits to her image would help think of that.

Well, if she's the dreamer type, it seems like stargazing would be something she'd do. Maybe her cutie mark could tie into that.

Here's an idea for how she got it: she could have been out stargazing one night, and became inspired to create a work of art because of it.

She seems like a good OC, but you really need to make it very clear what you want her personality to be like. Many people just list personality traits, but you really should add more detail. Really describe what she is like. I also recommend working on a backstory. My only advice on that would be don't make it too long and don't give her a mary sue backstory. That means don't give her a super tragic life or make her overly powerful or important. If you make her more powerful or important than the main characters from the show, you need to tone it down a little. Unless you think you can make it work, but it rarely does so don't say I didn't warn you.

I'm much more of a doodler than a writer, hence why I came for help. I want to give my mascot a personality more than 'She's pink and likes your face'

You know, a cutie mark doesn't have to be an act or something your pony does - it could be totally figurative as well.

 

I like the moon, but I'd probably change it just a bit - I'd add a cloud in front of it! That way, her cutie mark is a little more different from Luna's, and, also, you can have the meaning of her cutie mark be both star-gazing and the fact that she always has her head in the clouds ^^

Art wise, I love her! I would add a little bit of blue to the part of her mane that hangs down tho... Whats her special talent? She seems like a really sweet girl to me! and she is SO cute!!
