Six looked back at the mare that had given the compliment. He gave a small smile and nodded in thanks, he took the drink, taking a sip from it before setting it back down to continue wiping down his guitar.

"Hi...", was the only thing Winter could think of to say to the kind, prince-like stallion. "You're nice..." She gave Eris a kiss on the cheek, and stumbled over to a seat the bar. "I'm going to go to sleep now", Winter announced to nopony specifically. She put her head down on the counter and drifted off once more.

As he made sure all the other thing of ball were covered he went o go mingle and hopefully meet a beautiful mare...

He walked toward the punch bowl and noticed there were a lot of mares here.

Then he thought, "Who am I kidding? A beautiful mare want me....."

Eris rolled his eyes at the drunk mare, she was clearly too drunk to function and would be of no use to him. Eris crossed his hooves and observed the party from the wall. Eris shrugged, might as well ask somepony to dance. Eris went up to a beautiful blond mare and asked her dance, he brought her to the dance floor and they began twirling around together.

 

Lovely sighed sadly as she watched her brother dance and charm the mares, why didn't stallions fall head over hoof for her like that? Lovely berried her snout into her hooves, on the brink of tears.

 

Cherished started to get frustrated. She grabbed Six's guitar away from him and held it out of reach, "excuse me! I'm talking to you! Were you born in a barn, or something? This is not the way you treat a lady like myself." Cherished huffed. She noticed other mares dancing and was furious nopony had asked her to dance yet, she was clearly the most beautiful mare here. Cherished spun around enraged. "Aren't you at least going to ask me to dance!?" Cherished sighed, "let me try that again." Cherished used her beauty spell to make her appearance fit the preferences of Six. She turned around to face him again, blushing cutely. "Aren't you going to ask me to dance?" She said innocently batting her eyelashes.

It didn't matter whether this mare was crowned the most beautiful mare in the world, the rude way she acted and suddenly grabbing his guitar did NOT go well with him. He glared at the mare, standing up tall and taking back his guitar, he opened his mouth and spoke, his voice surprisingly deep, "First of all, yes ah WAS born in a barn, second of all, ah was finishin with nah guitar and was thinkin bout talkin to ya when ah finished, and third ah WAS thinkin of perhaps askin ya ta dance but ah can see ya ain't got the manners ta be patient an wait!". He slung his guitar over his back while angrily glaring at her, "Good night to ya miss" he retorted before storming off from her. He stopped at the bar, <Dammit now ah need a drink> he thought. He leaned against the bar and clopped his hoof, the

Bartender slid him a mug of apple whiskey, "On the house Six, great performance tonight". He nodded and smiled at the bartender, taking a swig of his whiskey as he admired the dancing ponies.

Cherished turned red face. The nerve! The bucking nerve! Who the buck does this peasant thing he bucking is!? What is with all these bucking faggots?! I've got more bucking brain in a strand of fur than he does in his entire head! You'd have to be stupid to give up an opportunity like me! ME! Cherished began to cool down as she remembered her careful breathing exercise. Cherished wasn't finished with Six. Cherished walked down to the bar and slapped him clean across the face. "Maybe you'll think twice before touching a lady!" She exclaimed. "This isn't some hump club, this is a classy event. Disgraceful!" Everypony at the ball stopped to see the drama unfolding.

 

Something had finally gained Eris' interest. "The poor prodigy ruined by the skanky rich bitch." Eris laughed to himself. This was the reason he attended events like these. Eris approached the bar.

 

Lovely, who was drunk at the bar and sitting fairly close to Six, blurted out, "oooooooooooooooooh!" As Cherished slapped Six. She began to laugh manically, laughter that was only interrupted by her hiccups.

Six was surprised by the slap, but kept his cool, "Ya obviously got me mixed up with somepony else. Ahm pretty sure Ahm not gonna think twice before turnin down a rude mare such as yerself. In fact, the only contact between you and me was just now, when ya slapped me, and now tryin ta lie yer way inta gettin back at me fer a problem ya caused all on yer own" he said calmly, nit breaking eye contact. The watching ponies were now getting confused as there were conflicting stories between the two.

"You're a pervert! Sexual harassment! How could you defile my body!" Cherished began to tear-up. Surrounding ponies began to whisper and gossip. Six could hear things like: "who is that young colt?" "Where did he come form?" "Poor little thing." "Disgusting pervert." Cherished gave an unnoticeable evil grin towards Six and then continued with her sobbing. "I wanted the first colt to touch me to be my true love." The audience awed. Bitch could act.

 

Lovely continued with her drunken laughter, "you sure do talk funneh!"

 

Eris chuckled to himself, "like a pig to the slaughter. He doesn't stand a chance." Eris shook his head and wandered over to the bar and put his hoof around Six, "you'll have to excuse my friend beautiful miss. He's been drinking a lot tonight and doesn't know what he's saying." Eris flashed his famous smile at Cherished as she blushed. "How about you go clean yourself up in the washroom and then I'll buy you a drink." Eris asked as he kissed her hoof. Cherished nodded and left. Eris immediately sat down next to Six, "her father is a very rich and powerful man. It doesn't matter how talented you are, you wanna work in this town you better learn your place."

Six simply huffed and took another swig of his whiskey, "First off, this is the first drink ahve had all night, second off, ah never even touched her, and third off, ah don't give a damn, nopony is gonna lie about somethin ah didn't do and think they can get away with it" he sighed and gulped down the last of his mug, not getting so much as a buzz.

Eris shook his head and covered Six's mouth with his hoof. "Now, now, now. Is that anyway to talk to somepony that just saved your flank and career?" Eris removed his hoof, "it's funny how you think I give a buck about the truth. You're not in Kansas anymore Dorothy. This is Canterlot, the big C, be or get eaten. No pony gives a flying buck if you touched her, or not. She's rich and said you did, that's all that matters. And if you don't keep your dumbass mouth shut, you'll get yourself a one way ticket to jail. Look over there." Eris gestured over to his druken sister, Lovely. "See that mess? That's my little sister, and yes she really is that beautiful. Would make a great wife to any rich stallion, but not in that state she won't." Eris smirked.

Six huffed again but didn't argue. The colt had a point. If he was to survive in this town he would just have to deal with it. He didn't like this place much, but as of now, it was the last place that he could make a living. He looked over to the indicated mare, "Yeah, she is quite a sight" he said quietly. "If yer her brother then why didn't ya stop her from gettin like that?"

"It's a griffin eat griffin world my friend. You can't trust anypony, not even your own family. Lovely needs to learn that the hard way." Eris took a sip of the pure cider the bartender brought him. "In fact," Eris thought for a moment. "Lovely, darling come sit next to your big brother." Lovely shook her head and stumbled over to the two ponies, nearly falling on the way. When Lovely was seated he grabbed her cheeks and brought her face close to Six. "I'd like you to meet a friend of mine, Six." Lovely shook her head, "oh I know you. The stage guy. You make amazing string music." Lovely said in a drunken slur.

Six leaned back as her face was brought up to his. "Uhh, howdy" he told her, giving a confused glance toward Eris as to what he was doing.

Lovely laughed, "you sound funny," she said hitting Six's nose harder than she intended on. Eris pulled her away from Six, "that's enough now." He gave Lovely a stern look. Lovely laughed and draped herself over her brother. Eris smiled, "drunk ponies, what can you do? Amirite?"

 

Cherished finally arrived back at the bar, she look stunning. "Where's my drink Eris?" "Right here doll face." "Thanks- who's the slut?" "She's my little sister, it seems somepony spiked to punch." "I see..." Cherished gave Six a nasty look, "what are you looking at? Ew, don't tell me you're undressing me with your eyes. You animal!"

Six rolled his eyes and ordered another mug of whiskey, saying nothing to the mare. He looked to Eris with a 'help me out' look. He didn't like this mare one bit, but he also didn't want her to ruin him before he had a chance to shine. And Eris seeme to be the pony to help him learn the basics of Canterlot life.

*Schwartz walked up to the group, dressed in her formal event armor. As a student of the Academy's gaurd unit, ahe was required to wear the armor of silver steel, intracately designed with veins of garnet and obsidian.*

"Oh sweetheart, surely you wouldn't flirt with Six right in front of me. You might break my ity bity heart." Eris said sarcastically. There was something so sexy about his aloofness. Cherished look stunned, she didn't even know how to respond to that. Eris laughed and winked Six. "Hello capitano!" Eris said putting his arm around the new pony. "Enjoying yourself this evening? I bet you are, beautiful mare such as yourself." Eris was a little less reserved than usual, but that's what cider does to a pony.

 

Lovely smiled at the group, although she felt an overwhelming sadness inside. Everypony loved Eris as usual, he was always the life of the party. He didn't even know these ponies and already it was if they were life-long friends. Why couldn't Lovely be likeable like her brother? What's wrong with me?

Six wasnt too crazy about how Eris got Cherished to stop bitching, but it worked nonetheless. He nodded respectfully at the bat winged pegasus and went back to his drink. <Hopefully that mare'll leave me alone now. Why do ah doubt that though?> he noticed Lovely, she seemed lonely, <maybe ah should talk ta her> he thought, she looke like she needed somepony to talk to.

Dumb tramp. "Helloooo! My name is Cherished." Cherished stuck out her hoof to greet Schwartz. "Prince charming over here is Eris. The girl all over him is his drunk sister, Lovely. And the in-bred is Sex- I mean Six." An honest mistake. "What brings you to the Grand ball?"

Six listened to the music, he wasn't much for electric guitar but who was he to judge? He looked over to Lovely, finally he couldn't stand seeing her look the way she did. He walked over and sat next to her, smiling kindly he said "Rough day?"

Jade sat quietly at a table in the back of the ballroom, ingrossed in a book with a still-full cup of punch set aside, occasionally looking up to take in the other guests before returning to his book. After overhearing Cherished's antics with Six at the bar some distance away, he shook his head. 'Welp, we've got either a pervert or a drama queen (or both), one mare passed out, Gods know how many are already drunk, and a new class-clown bashing his head into the microphone. Oh, and the punch tastes like crap, too. *sigh* Yep, this is going to be another excellent year.' Jade thought sarcastically to himself. 'Wonderful...'

Jade grumbled to himself and returned to his book before an electric guitar chord pulled his attention toward the stage. 'Huh? Where'd that come from?'
