Fire left the camp and started off towards the exit of the Everfree.

Electricity arced over the ground and a small blue orb appeared at the center of it all, suspended midair. The orb grew and then imploded.

The electricity jumped and connected at the last point the orb had existed. Slowly a new form began to take shape.

 

The Egotist fell to the ground exhausted. The trip to this alternate dimension had taken quite a bit of energy, both from his machines and from himself. As he stood up, he saw his calculation had been correct. He was in fact now a pony.

Fire walked out of the Everfree forest and towards and around the grassland with not much to do.

The Egotist stood up and looked around. He was in a grassland or plain of some kind. In the distance he saw a town and in the other direction he saw a forest. Suddenly, movement caught his eye and he turned to look at the figure exiting the forest.

Fire noticed a odd pony off into the distance. He seemed a bit familiar. He changed course and started off towards the strange pony.

The figure approached.

 

Computer, analyze, the Egotist thought. He received no response. He blinked through his mask and then cursed silently. The electricity from the dimensional portal had damaged the wiring in his mask.

"You alright?" Fire asked looking at the pony strangely.

The Egotist quickly cleared his throat.

 

"Um, oh yes, I'm quite alright," he started. "Just a bit disoriented that's all."

"Do i know you from somewhere?" Fire asked.

The Egotist squinted his eyes.

 

"I don't think we ever officially met," he said after a minute. "But, I think we may have seen each other before."

 

The Egotist doffed his hat.

 

"I am the Egotist, ex-superhuman."
