Lash grinned at the mare who had taken the bottle full on. He forgot about the cups and watched Zen float into the air.

"I didn't make it, not that sort of pony," Even though with his past experience, he has knowledge on precisely how with observation, "Although, I can tell you that i do keep the bottle and refill it." A souvenir, or a reminder.

Lash thought about how the other pony mentioned that she was making friends at this hotel.

'Interesting.'

"After this, should we find your other friends?" Lash tilted his head and smiled.

"Oh I'd absolutely love  that!" Zen returned the smile, as bright as ever. The monk then continued to drink the cider in small sips before setting the cup down and floating next to Lash. "So, what's your special talent? Apologies if I'm being a bit too forward here," Zen smiled.

There was not a pause before Lash spoke, being his usual self.

"Well my mark appeared after I fought off bullies from another filly." He lied. Since he lost his memory, Lash didn't know what his mark truly meant or how he got it. Ever since one of his early missions, he has elaborated a story for it that fit him. Even though there is almost no reason for it anymore, it's a force of habit.

"I guess you could say it's getting back at those who hurt others." The Pegasus started trotting towards the door, "Now I hope you wouldn't mind if I returned the question." Lash Opened the door and lightly bowed his head, as if saying 'You first.'

Zen floated out of the door, "Well, my cutie mark symbolizes my psychic abilities, though it's commonly mistaken for unicorn magic." she let out a small chuckle. "And that's quite a noble cutie mark you have, Lash. Not very many ponies are lucky to have it. Though a word of advice: don't lie about things." Zen smiled in a way that read 'Don't worry, I won't tell.'

Lash exited the room with Zen and locked the door. He was very well aware that she wouldn't be able to accept most of his pre-established covers with him being in an 'off mode'. Ever since he stopped taking his missions, he decided to lay off being hard core all the time. Of course the constant covering never left him.

"I'm not sure how it would be mistaken for unicorn magic seeing as how you are an Earth pony." Lash contemplated.

"Well a lot of the time  my face and head are covered by a hood, seeing as I'm a  monk and all. So a lot of people just assume I'm a unicorn. It's understandable where they come from. If I was in their position and didn't know any better, I'd think that too."  Zen explained.

"Excuse my curiosity, but what are your duties as a monk specifically?" Lash questioned.

'Those who come to hotels are usually unwilling to take stairs, so most likely the elevator is our point of route, her new 'friends', who exactly are they?' The pony was continuosely thinking.

"Hmm, should we take the elevator dear?"

"If you'd like, and um my duties mostly revolve around helping ponies. I travel across Equestria. It's...not exactly easy on my body so I decided to come here for a rest." she explained with a shrug and sent him a telepathic message, 'And please don't call me 'dear'.'

Her lips didn't move, but he felt Zen speak to him- on a different level. He kept note of it.

For a moment Lash came to a realization. The idea that the mare was just talking about how exhausting her work is and came to the hotel to rest, seemed a bit ridiculous when she had just crashed on his sofa from her constant teleportation.

'That's so contradicting.' Yet he couldn't hold back that impure grin.

"Well yes," Lash tried to muffle his laughter, "That must- be quite a bit of work." He put his hoof up to his face to help mute the quiet chuckling.

"I really only ever use my telportation for short distances. I never  go  farther than a building away with my teleportation." Zen explained, sensing his doubt and amusement. "And trust me it's tiring enough getting off the mountain our Monastery is on since we aren't allowed to use our psychic powers within twelve feet of the Monastery."?
