FluttersisBestPony 63 July 13, 2016 Share July 13, 2016 I was wondering if anypony is a part of a brony club? If you are please answer the following questions: 1. How often do you meet? 2. What do you do/discuss? 3. How did you become a member to this club? 4. Does your club have a name? 5. Is there a wide age range in the club or not? 6. Where do you meet? Sorry for all of the questions, I'm just thinking about making a club for me and my Brony/Pegasister friends... Does anypony have any tips?
weesh 690 July 13, 2016 Share July 13, 2016 (edited) "cowtown bronies" meets every other week. my previous club met every week, but we had a large core team to handle all the meetings. in both we did various MLP themed activities. see below. i found them on facebook, and was recruited by the leaders to be an additional leader. "cowtown bronies" previously i was at a club called "arctic bronies" I've seen young kids, but mostly high school is the youngest, and at 31, i'm not always the oldest. "arctic bronies" met in classrooms at the local university. "cowtown bronies" meets in rooms at libraries. I don't like the libraries very much because they close early and might be reserved by someone else. Tips: start a facebook group for your city gather a core group of committed people. hand pick the leaders, don't let ineffective or flaky people control the club. they shoudl all be good listeners make a plan, and follow thorugh. don't cancel or change the date or time of your first meeting. advertise. a lot. plan a good meeting be consistent. don't start the club until you are ready and able to meet regularly. pick a date that you can manage, and then work your butts off to make it happen. don't just wait forever until the "perfect" time. My meetings typically have a super quick activity to run while we wait for people to arive, and then a main activity for example: Icebreaker activities: two pony truths and a pony lie "celestia smiles upon you if..." (pony themed "winds blow for you") introductions with a question like "how did you become a brony?" nametag game (everyone gets a nametag on their back and has to guess who they are) Main activities: pony song karaoke telephone pictionary "changelings" (mlp branded mafia) ponyhammer (branded warhammer with blind bag ponies, but it was awful) mad libs (really fun because i got to write them!) nightmare nights party theme skits (split into groups and got 40 minutes to write and practice skits and then we presented them) pictionary with pony words catchphrase with pony words pony song trivia episode scene sceenit group trips (like one went to a hot springs) movie nights (to watch EG or something) I've always wanted to do a charity event together, or to do a scavenger hunt, but i haven't pulled those off yet. let me know if you have any more questions, or if you want more details about something. I love games, but i tried hard to include everyone by diong activities that were for people who were less fond of games, like karaoke, and always having time to just chat without a plan.
