After cleaning up the horrible mess, Jack went back to Joanne. "You know... I think that this is a lost cause. Arrogance and pride so not go well together, and i'm sure that the changes we would make will be revised as soon as we leave. Plus, that girl over there. She could have a much better place some where else than here." He rubbed his temples "The only thing holding me back, is the fact that this is a pub, and pubs have a special spot in my heart"

joanne nodded, there was indeed verry little hope left for this so called 'pub'. "the only way it would have a chance is if that girl would take over, she looks like she would know what to do, she's a hard worker so she would be able to handle it. Or we could always try to hit the arrogance out of them." the last part she said joking of course. she wasn't really planning on doing that, even if it would be great to do. 

 

then from the corner of her eye she saw something small. she quickly turned her head to see a mouse dissapearing under the counters "O shit" she said and got on her knees to take a better look. she saw a little hole in the wall and a bit further away lied a dead mouse. she grabbed the dead mouse by it's tail and walked to one of the owners "I hope this is not your version of 'fresh ingredients'" she said as she swung the mouse before his face.

Jack sat silently, and rubbed his face. It was a possibility for her to take over, but she was too timid and lacked too much crucial experience when it came to leading a kitchen instead of being ordered in a kitchen. So he had his doubts. He observed her cooking, and could tell that she had pure raw talent. It was like watching a diamond in need of polishing.

 

When he looked up, he noticed a mouse hanging from Joanne's hand, and instantly let his head drop down on the table. Emitting a bang. "That's it. I am sorry, but i am not going to do anymore for you morons. You are disgusting, arrogant, proud and a bunch of fucking donkeys. You have talented chefs, that bust their asses, but all you two fucktards do is get in the way." He pointed at Christine "This girl over there could get a fucking michellin star if she had a chance to polish her talent instead of microwaving food" Said Jack, not even shouting anymore. He got up, and went towards the door "I need some air"

seeing Jack this dissapointed did something with joanne. it made her furious to see that all those two pieces of shit could do that. She looked at jack walk away and then grabbed the two owners by their ears, dragging them to a quiet corner. "you two, listen up verry closely, that boy isn't one to give up quickly, he's a stuborn piece of shit. you two have some serious talent make make him give up and I don't like it one bit. now I want you two to, one, cook up something delicous and show us how much you are worth or, two, make an advertisement for 'bar for sale' right now and find another good place for christine to work. comprendre?" She asked with held back fury. then she let the two men go and watched, waiting for their decision.

They nodded "Yes ma'am." And started walking back to the kitchen. Until the chefs stopped them that is. "No, you two should be out on the front and entertaining guests instead. We got the kitchen" Said an elderly chef. They where about to argue, but a glance towards Joanne, made them quickly re evaluate their decision.  So they turned around, and headed out to the front.

 

Jack was looking down at his phone, searching for any inspiration for something extremely eye catching to make this pub succeed.  He might have said that he was done, but he couldn't help but hang on to the hope that they will get their shit together.

when joanne saw the elderly chef send them away her heart sighed out of  relief. This was good, those two sould indeed be out of the kitchen so they couldn't spoil more food. let them do the manager stuff then the chefs could cook. She nodded to the chef to thank him, he might had just saved this place. She walked back into the kitchen. "guys, one moment please. I just want to let you all know that you're doing an amazing job, if we want to safe this place then the two idiotic owners shouldn't be alowed here in the kitchen ever again. if you all work together and do what you do best then we can still make this into something!" she said enthausiasticly. "let me know if you need help, I'll be here" she said and sat down on a counter.

Once Jack felt ready again, he put away his phone and headed inside. Where there seemed to be... Order? The absence of the owners has made the kitchen much better, plus, from the look of things these people knew how to make food. For the first time, he also saw Christine with a very happy smile "Well i will be damned. Did you force them out with gun point or...?" Asked JAck

Joanne looked around the kitchen with a proud look on her face. she got even prouder when jack asked her how she did it "no guns here, only the old technicke known by mothers around the world known as 'grabbing them by the ear'. oh, and a helpfull chef." she said and nodded to the elderly chef. "but what have yo been doing outside? hopefully not smoking or something."

But i'm ok with people who do it as long as they stay the fuck away from me" Said Jack. Christine was done with her salad that Jack asked her to make, and brought it to them. "Here you go" She said timidly.

 

Joanne chuckled "woman can be pretty scary sometimes. Sadly enough not at the right times." she said "but anyway, good that you don't smoke. It reeks and it ruins your taste." she then said quickly. Then christine served them her salad. Joanne looked at it and started to drool "man, that looks good!" she said exited.

The salad was also nicely decorated with tomatoes and cucumbers on top. He took a bite, and smiled from the fresh and light taste that it provided "Very good Christine. You should join our elite school, i am sure you could polish your talents there"

She felt a slight blur of jelousy about her talent and she was also a bit jelous about all the nice words jack said to her, but she would never ever admit that last one and she quickly waved it away. he's just a little charmer, nothing more. they are worth nothing. She thought.

She finished it and raised from her chair "chefs like you are the ones that make me not bang my head into a wall daily, I just regained a bit of faith in the restaurand buisness" she said. Joanne was never good at giving compliments and this was the biggest that she could think of right now.

Chrsitine adopted a bright smile "Thanks" She said cheerfully, and walked away with a proud smile. Next the elderly chef arrived with two salmon dishes "Here you go, please enjoy" He said, as he walked back.

 

Jack nodded at the new dish before him. It looked good, appetizing even, but looks where deceiving. So he took his fork, and gently pressed it on the salmon. It was soft, very soft and juicy. It was well cooked, the perfect amount he might even say. With high expectations, he ate a piece of it and was surprised by the amount of good flavor in this piece of fish. "We are in the same kitchen as we where two hours ago... Right? I mean, this is some of the best dishes that have been prepared for me. How come this isn't what you are serving?"

It felt good to see the girl smile, joanne realised, maybe she should try to make people smile more often. Or maybe not, she didn't know yet. What she did know is that the salmon that got served smelled delicous, the presentation could use some work but it smelled absolutely amazing. Her fork cut through it like butter and when she took a bite it was perfectly soft and juicy. She closed her eyes and let out a satisfied sigh "perfect" she said happily.

 

And then jack asked the question that went through her head aswell, just how was it possible. With this skilled cooks this place could have been at the top of the english bars here, she also wondered how only two people that stupid wanted to start a restaurand in the first place. Waiting for the answers she took another bite of her salmon, followed by another happy sigh.

The chef beamed when they said that they liked it. He has never thought that two high school aged people could be so terrifying. "Well, it is because of the owners taking charge of everything in the kitchen. But despite our best efforts we could not get them out. It was only just now that we finally got the chance to cook REAL food" Said the chef happily.

 

Jack nodded "Alright. Well, i guess that we only have one thing left to solve before we can leave. Shall we?" Asked Jack as he got up "Oh and thanks for some real, delecious food. I will be revisiting you wankers in the future, you hear me?"

Then she grabbed a paper and a pencil and drew two stickfigures resembling the two owners and wrote 'stay away' underneeth it, then she taped it on the kitchen door. "There, I fixed it" she said.

"Now we got that out of the way and looking good whe should make this place look just as fantastic and get it ready for buisness" she said when she turned around and looked at the pub.

Speaking of them, where are the two donkeys?"
