Joanne chuckled "no need to hire a demolition expert, I can do that aswell." she said but then she got serious again and took a deep breath before she started talking about the menu "of course we are going to make the traditional english dishes, we gotta have a traditional english breakfast on the menu obviously but we can spice it up a bit by adding adding some interesting spices. We could also make beef wellington pork pie, it's a fun mix between two traditional english dishes. and we want a sunday roast on the menu, roast beef with yorkshire pudding, toad in the hole with cumberland sausage... " She summed up some more dishes then she added "but no more chicken, never again." And grinned evil to the owners.

Jack nodded, and wrote it down on his laptop. "Alright, fun ideas. Adds some individuality to the pub." He looked up at her, and pulled out a little block of paper with a recipe on "So, i spent all night perfecting this recipe and i think that this could be the restaurants kicker. Its your standard fried ribs, but the weapon is the sauce. The sauce will have your basic barbecue in it, add squeeze some lemons over it, add honey and the main ingredient." He pulled out his signature whiskey "10 centiliters of Jameson"

Joanne nodded as she listened to Jack explain his recipe, it souded good to her. "you don't do anything without your whiskey, do you?" She said rolling her eyes. then she remembered something "and how about the drinks? I beleve that's your speciality." she said to him and put her hands in at her hips. "and who is going to organise the make over? come on, mr jack, what's the battleplan?"

Jack grinned "Oi, i'm Irish can you blame me?" He took out another note pad and started listing off the drinks "Standard soda's. Fanta, Sprite, Cola. Some wine, whiskey and a few cocktails that i thought could be appropriate"

 

He cleared his throat. "The first one i decided to call the knuckle. 2 ounces of vodka, preferable absolute vodka. Some sprite, and top off with a lemon. If need be, you sweeten it up with Cuba caramel. Memorize that. Cuba caramel is like the number one neutralizer for bitter drinks." He flipped onto the next page "Right, this is the fire extinguisher. Despite its name, it has quite the opposite effect. Now listen carefully. 1 ounze of Absint, and fill the rest with DR pepper. DON'T put more than precisely one ounze, or else you are going to bollocks up the drink big time."

 

He threw all the notes on the table "Memorize it, me and Ms. Italy have to make sure that your pub doesn't look like the queens fucking bedroom." Said Jack as he walked out the kitchen.

Joanne nodded, those coctails sounded good and quite apropriate for a pub. The only thing she oped is that they wouldn't screw it up, because if they did then she would have to kik someones ass again and that was soooo exhausting. 

 

she went to the main restaurand with jack and looked around, all those fancy things, it almost made her vomit. "Why did they ever call themselves a bar to begin with?" she wondered "This doesn't look like a bar at all, not even close."  she shook her head. "okay, where to begin?" She then asked jack.

These fancy ass curtains, dishes, just everything that looks fancy" Said Jack, as he took away the dishes and other small misc items that he found. She walked to the windows and grabbed the fancy curtains "here we go" She said as she pulled it. the heavy, fancy curtain fell down, almosty burrying joanne but she managed to step aside just on time. "And that's how you take down a curtain." she said as she threw the curtain in a corner and walked to the next one.

Joanne was glad to be done with cleaning up the place, it was completely empty now. She looked satisfied at the emtpy restaurand. "So, what do we do now?" She asked jack. "We have to learn the people here how to cook and we have to redecorate this place. Who does what?"

Jacks awnser surprised joanne, as he said, it wasn't verry efficient. On the other hand, if they worked together they could get it done twice as fast and two opinoins were indeed better as one. "Okay then." she said, still a bit unsure but she got back her usual energetic tone quickly "right, let's learn these fuckers how to cook the english way."

Jack nodded "Indeed. First, let us start with a good old steak" He took out the piece of meat, and held it up so people could see "As you can see this is one DELICIOUS about to be steak. Not a fucking rotten pork chop yeah?" Said Jack, the pan getting nice and warm. He dripped a bit of oil on the plate and spread it out, with a well practiced wrist movement. He then threw the steak on, and it instantly started sizzling. "Salt, and pepper for some simple seasoning." Said Jack, as he seasoned it a bit. Joanne looked at jack explaining how to cook a stake. She seriously didn't understand how they didn't know that, it was one of the most simple things ever!

 

Then jack asked her to show them the salad, but that one word 'love' made something in her snap. Her eyes narrowed and without herself even noticing it she clenched her fists. 'no joanne, no! This is stupid! Nothing is wrong, just calm down.' she thought and she relaxed her muscles again. She walked past jack to a different part of the kitchen so she had enought space to show them the salad. "I'm not your love, jackass" she whispered when she walked past him.

 

Then she took a breath and focused on the other people in the kitchen again. She grabbed a beatifull, big and crispy crop of letuce and showed it to them. "This is a fresh, young lettuce you see? Looks good hm? Those green leaves. Well, we're going to get rid of them. You can use the outer leaves for making the plates look pretty but for a real salad you need the younger leaves. They yellower the better." she chopped up the lettuce and put it in a bowl while she was talking "I'm going to make a simple, poor peoples salad with nice fresh ingredients." she grabbed some tomatoes and also cut those "even the poorest english people could have made this in the medieval perioud" she sprinkled breadcrums over the salad "but, we're going to give it a nice modern twist" she grabbed a bowl and put some vinigar, sugar and pepper, yougurt, mayonaise and a little bit of mustard in it and mixed it. She tasted it and added some more sugar. Then she threw a hand full of union in it and and mixed again. She let the other people taste it and then nodded aproving. She put the sauce over the salad and mixed it all together "this is a modern canterlot salad" she said

Jack nodded at her recipe. She wasn't kidding when she said that she knew food from around the world. "You donkeys got that?" Asked Jack, and they nodded. "Good, because here comes the hard part" He pullet out a whole salmon from the a bag. "This is imported freshly from your local fishing store. A nice whole Salmon, now." He took out a knife sharpener and a sharp knife. Then he started sharpening it with fluid, professional movements. "Now look, and memorize what i'm doing"

Joanne was surprised, that sure was impressive. she clapped her hands but with a sassy and sarcastic look on her face. but she did mean it, she was impressed. He was indeed a really capable cook, maybe allmost at her level. Now she worried a bit less about working together with him, maybe the could be a rather capable team if he wasn't such a jackass sometimes.

Jack rolled his eyes at her sarcastic applause, but he shifted his focus back to the chefs "Think you can handle this?" He asked, a "YES CHEF" Shout echoed throughout the kitchen. Jack smiled "We will see lads. Now..." He took the freshly cut Salmon, and put it on the kitchen counter "Cook it" He said simply, which led to a confused room.

joanne almost facepalmed when she saw the confusion in the kitchen when jack gave them the simple task to cook the salmon. "you guys know what cooking is right?" she asked them and they nodded "well, then grab the fucking salmon, throw it into a pan and cook it!" she said agressively. her head was seriously hurting because of how stupid those people were and she was so done with them.

 

she walked over to jack while rubbing the back of her neck, something she always seemed to do when she was annoyed or stressed, "so, what are we going to do now?" she asked him while keeping an eye on the idiots in the kitchen.

As she took out a day old salad. Jack got up from his seat, and walked towards her. Which made some of the chefs halt "KEEP COOKING YOU FUCKING DONUTS" Shouted Jack, and they got back to work. Christine also winced from his shouting. Seeing that he was slightly towering over her, he went a bit down in height to be able to meet her eyes. He put a reassuring hand on her shoulder "Hey, throw this shit out and get out some fresh ingredients. Take them from the bags up there okay? Now, what i want you to do, is make me and Joanne the most delicious salad that you can, okay?" Christine nodded, her shoulders falling down a bit when she finally relaxed. Jack smiled, and rose to his full height. Then he went back up to his previous sitting spot

Joanne sat at a counter and looked at everyone cook, but it quickly bored her and she started playing with her wristbands. From the corner of her eye she folowed jack talking to the young girl. It surprised her how soft and nice he sounded. 'aprearently he also has a nice side, interesting' she thought. It was also good to see that it had helped and she watched as the girl started to prepare a salad.

 

"Good job" she said as he returned to his place "but do you have something else to do? I'm bored and the longer I stay around those idiots" she nodded to mr bold and mr bulky "the more my head starts to hurt"

Joanne flinched too when jack screamed but not because of his screaming but because of the fact that he seriously wanted to put gravy over a salmon, who the fuck ever thought that was a good idea?! Salmon was one of the best kinds of fish in the world, that didn't need any kind of sauce but if you really wanted to add a scause you could make something fresh and light, not fucking gravy! Joanne closed her eyes and shook her head, this was just too much stupidity for her. She just wished she could kick those two out of the kitchen and ban them from ever touching food again.
