"I'm sure you know the obvious details. Like being an Element, and such. But I guess I should start with a tidbit of less common knowledge. I used to practically raise my sister Sweetie Belle because our parents were usually away on some type of business trip and that is no place for a growing filly, though we rarely saw our parents except some holidays. It is odd not having her around now though she seems to be doing quite well for herself. The trouble her and her friends would get into are quite infamous around here actually."

He smiles and nods "Sounds like quite the history, as for me, I grew up with Crystal, but I am actually older than she is by a number of years, us Changelings kind of age differently" he says with a chuckle "The Queen, Crystal's mother tasked me with looking after and watching over Crystal, much like now, back then I was her personal guard, and since we grew up together, we fell in love with each other, which wasn't hard, considering we were in the Crystal Empire" he chuckles "After Sombra went insane, which sadly happened a month before Crystal and I were set to get married, She sent me away the day before she went into exile. From there I went to Thalemn joined up with Indicus and then we joined Luna's special unit together"

"Wow that is quite the history you have there. You seem quite happy to see Crystal and Indicus together. Then there is you history with Indicus. I'm not one for war stories but some here and there grab my interest. With how you two act around each other you seem like brothers and very close at that." Rarity paused for a moment. "Oh sorry dear I forgot, would you like something to drink, tea, or perhaps water?"

He smiles and flicks his tail "We are like brothers, we were brothers in arms during the fights we got into and even now we are like that" he says then scratches his chin with a hoof "Some tea would be nice thank you, if you have any Chai tea, that'd be much appreciated, I take it with 3 sugars and milk please" he says as he sits down and smiles "I've heard a bit about your sister and her friends, I think it's wonderful they're not limiting themselves to things when it comes to finding their cutie marks. Having an adventure while trying to get them just makes it all the more fun"

Rarity started up some tea and before long it was ready. She put the requested sugar and milk in before passing it over while she drank her own tea plain. "Yea they do get in some interesting situations most of which end up in them getting covered in tree sap something nopony can figure out. As for myself and my friends we've been in quite a few adventures together, sometimes mundane other times quite dangerous. A few that Indicus admitted to following us on once Pinkie Pie managed to expose him when eveypony else did not even get a hint that we were followed. She is a strange pony for sure."

Shade smiles and sips on his tea "This is good tea, thank you" he says then nods "I've heard about those times, Luna was worried about your safety so he sent him to keep an eye on you lot" he says with a chuckle "and I've also heard about that mare, she's a bubbly earth pony with a sixth sense of sorts, rather an odd one at that" he chuckles and looks out of the window "I tell you, I have a feeling their highnesses will make sure that the fact that Crystal and I are changelings known at the Gala, it'll be good to not have to disguise myself all the time"

Rarity nodded, "Thinking back on those times I must admit especially with the invasion, We fought off plenty of Changelings but not quite as many as one would have expected. All the little things seem to make point to having a protector but we never really thought about it until Pinkie pointed it out reviling him." Rarity shook her head. "I'd imagine you having the ability to walk in the open without guards attacking, would be nice. With two changelings being there I have the same feeling as you do in that regard."

 

Rarity took another sip of her tea, "So what did you do after the military?"

He smiles but then frowns at the mention of the invasion then shakes his head "After the military, I returned the Thalemn to try and settle down, it's pretty much the only part of Equestria where every race is welcome, even my kind" he says "Sadly, the mares there were more interested in joining the military, and I was actually on my way to visit Indicus when I came across those two loveponies having a picnic" he chuckles "And well the rest is, well I'm here"

Rarity giggled, "So you left Thalemn because you couldn't find companionship, found Indicus with your ex, then now you and I are testing the waters. Sounds like one of my romance novels if i've ever heard one, maybe we will get some intrigue later." Rarity giggled again.

Shade chuckles and nods "It does sound like something from a romance novel, but in all honesty, I'm happy for both of them, they both mean a lot to me, and I'm happy to see they found each other" he says and sips some more on his tea "I hope so, from what I've heard you're beautiful on both the outside and the inside"

Rarity covered her mouth with a hoof as she blushed. "Why thank you Shade, you seem the type that values more then monetary gain or having the best looking bride. It's why I am giving you a chance in the first place. Most that try to court me are quite dishonest and insincere and I find out quickly and never even bother with them."

Shade flashes her a smile, including his fangs "My dear lady, money is only good when you have loved ones to share it with and even the most beautiful and radiant mare can be shallow and spiteful on the inside, but you, my dear Rarity, are well, your name says it all, a Rarity. One of a kind, a beauty on the outside that is only outshon by your inner beauty" he says, as he gently take her hoof and kisses it once more.

Rarity's blush gets several times darker. "Why thanks Shade, this time has been quite enjoyable." Rarity looks at a clock. "It seems it is getting late. You will have to stop by sometime before the Gala we could talk some more then. A lady needs her beauty sleep to do her very best as you know."

He smiles and nods then kisses her hoof before kissing her cheek gently "I understand miss Belle, you go and  get your rest, I shall be at Indicus' house" he says before bowing one last time and flying off towards Indicus' and Crystal's house in the woods.

Indicus and Crystal were inside their home having already ate. Indicus was relaxing on the couch with Crystal close, just enjoying the feeling of home with his marefriend and possibly fiance when he proposed properly. He snuggled up next to Crystal, "This has been an interesting day, got Shade and Rarity together and you two dresses for formal events."

Crystal nods "mm, who would have thought those two would have clicked so well? I mean he sure is a charmer" she giggles and nuzzles into him lovingly "I'm happy for them though, they both deserve love" she says as she slowly closes her eyes "Tomorrow we head to Canterlot, fun"

"Yea it seems to be going well for the two of them." Indicus closes his eyes and snuggles even closer to Crystal. "Yea tomorrow should be quite enjoyable even more so with Shade being there. We all can catch up some more." Indicus noticed they were still on the couch and decided to quickly fix the problem and teleported the both of them on the bed. He then readjusted himself to rest more comfortably against Crystal. "I love you Crystal, good night."

Crystal nods  and smiles "Love you too darling" she says as she slowly closes her eyes. Meanwhile, Shade arrives at the house, not wanting to disturb their sleep, he simply curls up in the back garden, smiling at the flowers and plants that were freshly planted "Crystal always had a green hoof" he says to hismelf.

The night sky gives way to the sun as the night turns to day. Indicus is woken up by the light coming from the edge of the window blinds. He wakes up with a yawn and for a while just laid there next to Crystal's warm body. Eventually he did get up careful not to disturb Crystal.

Crystal rolled over and mumbled something as she chewed on the tip of her tail while still asleep. Meanwhile Shade begun pacing around, he was nervous about going to the Gala, but he was also quite nervous about going with Rarity, as he wasn't watching where he was going, he walks right into a tree with a loud "oof"

Indicus walked through the house seeing if Shade was up. When he looked outside Indicus happened to see Shaded pace and then walk into the tree. "You alright there Shade? You seem distracted." Indicus said as he walked out the door to check on his friend.

Shade looks to him "Well I am nervous, not only about going to the Gala, but what will happen once the news about my Queen and myself being Changelings gets out? I know Rarity knows, but there are plenty of ponies who still hold onto their fear of our kind" he says "And just how in Thalemn did I land such a beautiful mare? I mean, she has that rare inner beauty coupled with outer beauty"

Indicus laughs, "Well there are always going to be those that are going to fear or even hate changelings no matter how much time passes, but with this announcement changelings may be able to be more in the open. That will lessen the ponies that fear and hate changelings over time. The only way the fear and hate will become almost non-existent is by making changelings just another person that you see and this is a huge start. " 

 

Indicus worked to address his second question. "Well that is a question I have asked my self twice now once with Dusk Flower and again with Crystal and honestly I don't think I can ever see what they see in me but I love Crystal all the same, as I loved Dusk Flower."

Shade laughs "After all that time spent with Dusk, I can sense a lot of similarities between the two of them." he says and sits down "But you're lucky mate, Crystal is a one of a kind mare, as I'm sure you're aware of, " he says and rests his chin on his forehooves "I'm lucky as well, I honestly knew she would survive, but I also tried moving on"

Indicus sat next to his long time friend, "Yea I know, moving on can be a very hard task to do.  I'm glad that you were able to do so and that you seem to have found someone that can make you happy. Well I wish you the best with Rarity man." Indicus gets up, "Well I'm gonna see if Crystal is awake, I'll see ya in a moment."
