z33captain 28 October 15, 2016 Share October 15, 2016 (edited) Been thinking about getting into ammo reloads, at least for my .45LC, as rounds average nearly a dollar each. I'm not sure if I should start with the basic mallet-and-die kit, or go whole hog and get myself a fancy press and caster molds and such. Anybody here have any experience with ammo reloading? Thoughts? Edited October 15, 2016 by z33captain
Phosphor 11,543 October 24, 2018 Share October 24, 2018 Oh wow, I'm glad I found this thread! I started reloading ammo about 6 years ago with the Lee "whack-a-mole" kit for .38spl. It works, but I had trouble getting consistent roll crimps. I shortly upgraded to a single stage press and love it. Reloading is fun (and so is bullet casting) and definitely worth it for obsolete cartridges such as the .32-20 Winchester.
