Ponified Album Art - My First Photoshop Projects

Hello everyone.

 

Just over a week ago I found a copy of Photoshop Elements 9 that I'd bought for cheap at a thrift store some months ago and forgot about. Upon finding it again I installed it on my computer and started figuring the program out.

 

I've actually had some (admittedly dumb) ideas for pony fan art for some time now and I figured that if I was going to do anything productive with Photoshop, I would put those together to the best of my limited ability.

 

More than a week later, I've created twelve pictures (all of varying quality) which is far more than I had initially planned for. As I got into making these I started having ideas for more and I kept on going. I'm about out of ideas now, but I suppose I'll update this post if I ever make any more.

 

They're all ponified album art. If there was an album that I was familiar with that I thought I could make a pony version of, I made it.

 

Anyway, let's get into actually sharing the pictures. I'm going to list these in order from my personal favorite to least favorite.

 

All of my pictures can be downloaded on their DeviantArt pages (links have been provided). They're almost all 1080x1080 so they would work fairly well as desktop backgrounds.

Man the Discord Bell and the Neighvana covers especially put a big smile on my face. These were really interesting takes of the actual albums, good work.

A note about this one: the image embedded here on the forum is more recent than the one uploaded to DeviantArt. It has a tiny error corrected that the DeviantArt one does not.

David Bowie - Aladdin Sane

 

A couple of thoughts about this one: there's no specific reason why Pinkie keeps showing up on David Bowie covers, it just so happens that she had the perfect pose for the Young Americans cover and for Aladdin Sane she had the lighting bolt facepaint, which is what gave me the idea for this one in the first place.

I will say that I am not a fan of the pun on this one but I felt that I had to ponify it somehow. I also wish I'd found a face pose closer to the one on the original Bowie cover but I couldn't find a shot where she both had her eyes shut and where the face paint was easily visible.

Vector artist: me. It's actually just a cutout from a screenshot I took of one of the episodes, as evidenced by the pixellation around the edges.
