The library

As you  read thru your book you couldn't help hear a rather loud conver saction nearing your way between one pony and the unmistakenibul spike the dragon as twilight is gone on princess stuff

 

"what do you mean you don't know where it is your library is the biggest one in ponyville" you hear the pony say

 

"you know how many books twilight always comes in with any given day" the drgon is herd responding

 

"Spike you know my work you have to have something on this"

 

"try over here I know we have the love crafts which is always near the cult stuff your asking about"

 

A pony with a pale grey coat and blue mane trots over to the book shelfs by you looking for something scanning the shelvs......

Roxy's fluffy little ears flickers as she hears the conversation, she couldn't help but giggle as she looks at the spine of a book, it was a history of Lovecraftian Elder Gods, she shakes her head "then looks to the stallion "You're into Lovecraft too sir?" she asks with a soft smile, she starts to flip through the Tome and sighs "Drat, I would have thought this book would have had it, maybe not" she puts it back and looks for a more rarer book.

@@Orange Sparks, "casually yes, today more so then other days" the stallion said still having the eyes of somepony looking for a book in eagerness for something. He then paused looking at Roxy, an idea came across his muzzle.

 

"I wonder, you consider yourself a love craft professional no? the cuti mark clearly shows your connection to if not the lore then the world of the paranormal" he said then held out a hoof

 

"coolwhip Liberian by trade" he said holding out a hoof to shake friendly like, he still had the searching look like he was reading something.

Roxy smiles and nods "Indeed" she says and shakes his hoof in return "Roxy Brightspark, Cult and Paranormal Private Investigator" she says with a warm and friendly smile. "So, is there anything in particular you're interested in? Dagon perhaps? or one of the outer gods perhaps like Shabbith-Ka?" she asks, finding another book, this one an even more ancient tome on the Elder gods. She flips through it and grunts "Great! Nothing here at all that's helpful.. SPIIIIKE!"

As roxy paged thru the book coolwhips eys went through the pages he held a hoof on one page showing a peticular picture "hold on a second" he studied the page. The page in question was on about the teeth size of a fersom beast that roxy would recognize right away (ooc your call what it is).  

 

"what book is this? I think you helped me just now" he said as if it just changed his entire day

 

It was then Spike came around the cornoer "i swear if its another book order just show me the book the bloody thing and ill write  note for twilight" he said

 

"no you just need more up to date books I'll order you some if you get me more books like this one for mine" coolwhip said still reading the page

"That is the outer god Mh'ithra" she states "A large invisible wolf-like fiend similar to Fenrir of Norse mythology. Mh'ithra is the lord of the Hounds of Tindalos, and the most powerful. Although not an actual Outer God as such, its form and awesome powers defy standard classification. Mh'ithra's eternal battle with Yog-Sothoth is said to be legendary." She reads from the passage and closes the book "Tome of Ancient Mythologies and Legends" she reads out loud "hmpf, no wonder it was no use to me" she says, handing it to Coolwhip then turns to Spike.

 

"ah there you are Spike, I'd like you to do write a letter to Celestia requesting access to the restricted section of the Royal Equestrian Library, she did give me this job after all"

@@Orange Sparks, Spike blinked at her statement "to the restricted are of..all right then also that wont be a problem coolwhip" he said sighing not looking forward to the paper work before heading off to do so.

 

Coolwhip read more of the book then closed it placing it in his scarf pocket "don't suppose you have the rest of the day free roxy? I have a theory I could use an opnion on" he said smilling

Roxy smiles "Well, I need to do more research for my case, but who knows, maybe we can colaberate? If your theories are correct, they may actually help me with my case" she says with a smile as she scans the shelves one more time before looking to Spike "Thanks hun, sorry to be such a bother to you, maybe when I'm free next, I could bring Silver over again, would you like that?"

coolwhip raised an eyebrow "oh hush I annoy you at the most"

 

The dragon laughed at that "better company the none" he called back  as he began to make his way to the desk in the room to begin working on the letter and writing out the order form.  

 

"Something tells me it might be related to your case, the blue triangle murders happing in cantorlot. The victums are the same but" he said leading roxy out of the library nodding to spike. Spike just waved him off clearly still annoyed at the stallion less so at  Roxy.

 

"something tells me we both have the data we are missing, by chance is your case in manehatten?" he asked

 

"seems like the only murder on everyponys mind right now, 3 bodys all with a blue triangle over their cuti mark. If that's not showing off I don't know what is" he said sounding un impressed by it all.

Roxy's eyes go small and she spits on the ground "Blue triangles?" she asks "definitely sounds cult like, but yes, my case is in Manehatten, but blue triangles? That is rather odd" she states as she follows him, waving goodbye to Spike "The all seeing eye" she mumbles to herself "Is it just a triangle or is there anything like and eye in it as well?" she asks, scratching her chin in thought with a hoof, "Other than that, it could be something from the Lovecraftian mythos"

@@Orange Sparks, Coolwhip nodded at the eye question following the mare   "yes it dose have an eye in it, sense the last record of such things being real date back around starswirlds time the only real logical explinaction is a cult is trying to revive said monster that or just gather more numbers" he said as they left the castel .

 

" A smart move if you want to run a cult and recruit soldiers, but could easily show your hand too early. The rest of the cops think its just a copy cat but copt cats try to get a messige out....and are boring" he said almost sounding annoyed

 

"makes it a borring seeing the headlines" he nods at a paper emlazend with the word "copy cat murder strikes again"

Roxy scowls "Those lazy louts know nothing of the occult, heh I should know, my brother is..my brother is a master when it comes to the occult" she says and smiles at Coolwhip, "As for the symbol, then it is something to do with the occult, even worse they seem to be invoking a Great One" she shudders at the thought, then looks to him "The corpses you've found, did the victims have their eyes taken out?"

As they talked the and walked the library coolwhip menctioned was off in the distance but not a days jog for sure. "Easter god if im not mistaken, you think they are trying to bring him into equestrian? Celista might not like that but at this point im not surprised our belovid princess's didn't lock horns again. definitely not luna and cela but the others im not so sure about." he mused at the end of that.

@@Orange Sparks, "feeds of fear, would give most changlings a run for their bits then" The pony mused over, soon they were at his library. Not as grand as twilight castle or library more simple then anything else really in terms of the style of the building

 

. With a stair case leading to a door that would lead into an open lobby with a desk with a board looking colt behind it paging through a comic, he beamed up seeing the stallion and the mare, the colt must have been around 10 or so years old.  

 

"welcome back uncle and welcome miss" he said, the colt had a blue coat and white string like mane "helping my uncle out or looking for anything mam" he asked.

Roxy giggles and nods but as soon as she sees the colt, she outs a hoof over her heart "Oh my, he's so precious" she whispers to Coolwhip and then smiles at the colt "I'm helping your uncle with a case, that just so happens to be connect to one I am investigating myself sweetie" she says with a soft smile "I wonder if he's good with little ones"

"maybe next case bud, actually maybe you could show our gust to the mystery's section of the library?" coolwhip said

 

his ears deflated a bit " I can do that" he says sounding disappointed then began leading the mare down a hallway of books

 

"Ill be just a second then we'll be on our way" coolwhip says going to the desk then to an office near by.

 

"so what books your into?" the colt asked leading the mare down the hallways of books labeled from many authors some she would recognize and other she probably never herd of.

Roxy smiles "Well anything you might have on the Cthulu Mythos and perhaps anything you have on "the Dream realm"" she says and looks at him "hey listen, if you really want a job, if you agree to the rules, I may be able to convince you to foalsit my daughters" she says with a smile and takes out a photo of her two rather strange daughters. One was a diamond dog pup, no more than 3 years old and the other was a dragonet no more than 2 years old "I adopted them on the same day, I saw them at the orphanage and instantly fell in love with them"

Roxy smiles "I'm sure you'll do fine,  they're young, but they are quite obedient and will listen to you" she says "possibly have a crush on you by the end as well" she says somewhat quietly with a soft giggle "As with living in a cult, I don't actually live with any cult, my cutie mark just mainly signifies my knowledge for anything to do with the Cthulu Mythos or anything even remotely linked to it. There's also other cults or groups that i specialize in, much like your uncle, I'm a Private Eye detective but I specialize in helping the guards with cults and the such.." she explains with a smile

@@Orange Sparks, (ooc im game for stringshot getting a crush xD ) A blush came across the youngsters face " a crush...well...uncle coolwhip keep saying crush's are expansive to have. But I never had one so I really don't know if he's right on that" the youngster said trying to ignore his redness around his muzzle.

 

The youngster looked back at the book shelf in front of them "the rest makes sense though must be odd trying to describe it to regular ponys with the whole lore and such but we do have this" he said levitating a book down to roxy titled  

 

'The paranormal and our realm by willow tree hoofs'  

 

"maybe this could help" the youngster said with a smile.
