What if Chrysalis was the only female changeling?

What if Chrysalis is what the female changeling looked like and she was the only female changeling there while the other ones were male changelings?

It means if she become a rainbow bug, the whole Changeling race is officially extincted, i hope it wont go that way.

The Changelings  are shape shifters.  Much depends on "How complete is the shift?" In Canterlot Wedding the Changelings duplicated the Mane 6.  If it extends to the genetic level, then the answer to the question "M or F" is "Undecided".  Chrysalis is simply the only one who chooses to look female.

 

There is also the question of "How insect like are Changelings, anyway?" If they are like bees, then most of them ate sexually immature, the equivalent of preteens.  Chrysalis is not the only female, just the only mature female. In that case, she is  not just their Queen. but their mommy as well.

 

Finally, there is the question "What makes you think Chrysalis is the only female?  Since they are bug ponies, can you tell them apart?"  Maybe it is like the old poem

Consider now the humble flea

You can not tell

The he from she

But he can tell

-And so can she

Maybe it is like that with Changelings
