Eeyup, a quickie sketch I did in biology class!

Trace for one picture, get a feel for how to shape it. Then trace over that picture over and over so that you get a feel for the shapes. You'll improve

Usually I just draw a bunch of crude basic shapes until I have the proportions of the body down to start then work out all the curves. Remember animal shapes are almost never jagged, even in cartoons - meaning [usually most] corners should be curved rather than at angles like you did with the wings and parts of the legs.

 

I'd give more advise but its hard to say in just words. Anyway, it's not a bad sketch at all if you don't draw much and didn't have a reference. Some people recommend tracing but I would actually argue against that... I don't actually think tracing helps at all, it's like riding a bike with training wheels - it doesn't require you to learn/improve to do it so you're not really gonna be any better after you're done tracing it
