Those are some fun names for chipmunks. is there a particular reason/story behind them? That would help from a character development standpoint. For example, in the comics luna has a pet opossum who is really cute and there is a whole mini-comic on how luna came across it. (it makes sense since they are nocturnal, and it is unusual which helps luna stand out more)

i don't know... i hadn't actually thought about a reason for them/story behind them

but i may think of one, sometime, though

i just came up with reason/story behind them.....    let's see.....

 

 

'candy beat & cinnamon harmony were taking a walk together, when they heard a dog barking. it was winona....  she was chasing two chipmunks  & they ran up a tree; scared

 

candy beat & cinnamon harmony thought 'winona... what's she doing?! let's go help them!'

 

 

'winona, stop it! leave them alone!'  said candy beat

 

then applejack came over

 

 

'applejack, thank goodness... can you tell her to stop chasing these chipmunks?... she's scaring them'

 

 

applejack 'oh winona, you know it's not nice to chase chipmunks... you scared them'

 

winona '?'

 

applejack 'sigh'  oh well... just don't do it again, ok?'

 

 

cinnamon harmony 'don't worry, we'll take care of them '

 

 

applejack:  'ok... good luck '    then she left with winona

 

 

 

candy beat 'how should we calm them down?'

 

cinnamon harmony 'hmmm....  ah i know. let's try to calm them down by climbing the tree & gently speaking to them'

 

candy beat 'that's a good idea'

 

 

candy beat 'here, here'

 

cinnamon harmony 'it's okay... she's gone now'

 

chipmunks 'nervous'

 

candy beat 'they're nervous... ah i know'

 

 

candy beat held out her hoof

 

cinnamon harmony 'okay '

 

cinnamon harmony did the same

 

 

candy beat 'it's okay... come here... we won't hurt you'

 

the chipmunks slowly warmed up and walking slowly towards them

 

cinnamon harmony & candy beat reached out towards them & picked them up

 

& they stroked them

 

'it's okay now'  said candy beat

 

 

the chipmunks slowly calmed down

 

candy beat & cinnamon harmony: ^^

 

they climbed down

 

 

 

the chipmunks licked them

'i know... let's take the to fluttershys place to a check up of sorts' said candy beat

 

 

cinnamon harmony 'yeah '

 

 

at fluttershy's place,

 

 

fluttershy 'they seem fine to me. just a bit shaken up.... they seem to grown attached to you too'

 

 

candy beat & cinnamon harmony : ^^

candy beat: i know... cinnamon harmony, why don't we keep them as pets

 

cinnamon harmony: ah that'd be nice .... what do you think of that, fluttershy?

 

 

fluttershy:  ah  i think that'd be nice ^^  but what are you going to call them? they look like females

 

candy beat: hmm... female, huh?   i know.... this one is going to be called 'maple'

 

cinnamon harmony: then this one will be called 'hazel'

 

 

fluttershy: 'those are really nice names '

 

candy beat:  'then it's decided ^^ '

 

fluttershy '   ^^  take good care of them, okay? '

 

cinnamon harmony 'yeah! '

 

candy beat 'can we bring them over to you for check ups every now and then?  since you like animals '

 

fluttershy:  'um... okay '

 

 

candy beat & cinnamon harmony:  'yay ^^ '

 

cinnamon harmony: 'we'll be good friends, hazel '

 

candy beat: 'us too, maple '

 

 

maple & hazel:  slowly warmed up... and then they smiled

 

 

 

 

*and that's how it came to be*

Alright! this definitely helps to give a little more depth to the pets and your characters as well
