Forsaken of the Everfree 1x1 with Maple Bat

Jack looked rather uncomfortable.

"It's an honour to meet all of you."

he said with a nod.

"Could you please tell us what is going on? I noticed the increased number of guards stationed across Canterlot." 

 

[Maple Bat 3,568]

Luna stepped closer to Maple "We have spotted a pony..."

"In the crystal empire" Cadence interrupted "And we are worried about Flurry's safety. So we have to guard her so we need a team to find this pony and assure us he's not a threat to us. You seem to be one of Luna's most devoted guards "

Luna Waited for her to finish and added. "So we are sending you and your brother to the frozen waste to go find them."

"You're sending Woody?" Maple asked "Why? We get along fine and all but he's not trained in combat. He could get hurt."

"We are confident in your ability to protect him." Luna said "Plus His magic is strong he should allow you to survive longer in the frozen wastes."

"Very well." Maple siad nodding to Luna "Hey 'Tia-"

"Stop calling me that Maple." Celestia interrupted.

"Right so what's your opinion on this then?" Maple finished

"I suggested the idea after all if something goes wrong one of you could run and tell everyone something went wrong." Celestia answered smiling a bit internally

"If i may interrupt, is there any information on this *pony*? It might be safer for Maple and Woody to at least know what they are up against because for all we know this could be a trap." Jack suggested.

[Maple Bat 3,568]

Maple glanced at Jack That was really intelligent of him She thought 

"We don't have much info in this pony other than the fact he was wearing armor and wandering the frozen wastes where sombra showed back up a few years ago." Shining Armor answered

Celestia said "So what if it's a trap, Maple you've proved yourself capable in more challenging situations. Which is why we where sending you."

Maple thought about the other times "Aright I see what you mean. I'll start that way. I'll get Woody on my way there." She turned to face Jack "I'll leave you with Fluttershy if you don't want to come with me. I'll leave it up to you."

Candence hear her. "Maple are you sure you want your son to go with you on a dangerous mission."

Maple looked at her "Absolutely if he wants to. He's already proved himself in Everfree."

"I am coming with you, I can be a lot more useful out there than just sitting around doing nothing." he said

"And I will also be able to focus on my research at the same time when we are under way."

[Maple Bat 3,568]

"Alright let's go." Maple said leaving the room "We'll have to hurry if we want to catch the next train, Climb on and hold tight."

"Maple wait" Luna said "You don't have to go get your brother he's already been alreted of the situation and he has your equipment."

"Alright thanks Lady Luna." She said running out to go catch the next train for speed she jumped out of an open window and started flying towards the train station.

Eventually, they reached the Train station.

As they eventually sat in the train, Jack was a bit worried.

"I don't understand why they would send the of us to the Frozen Waste while it might as well be a trap? Woudln't they atleast have sended some extra soldiers to back us up incase somethin goes wrong."

"I know you are very experienced but who knows what we might face there." he said with worry.

"Well my brother's gonna be there too." She said "He can help us get out of the situation with his magic. Ohh and I think you'll love his singing." They stayed on the train for a few minutes before Maple saw the terrain change from the normal grassland to a blizzard inducing snowy area. Maple sighed "I hate when it's cold. Especially this cold."

"I agree." Jack said.

While they sat on the train, a cloaked unicorn was spying on them.

While the pony din't directly looked at thim his horn emitted a feint glow of dark magic.

Jack didn't seem to be aware of that however.

Woody greeted Maple when the train arrived "Hey sis. Here's your stuff." He handed her a large bag "Is your son coming with then?"

Maple looked inside it. She pulled her night guard armor and bow out of the bag there was some more stuff in there but she didn't need it at the moment. "Yea he chose too. You ready." She asked both of them.

"I am." Woody began to sing making the group feel warm internally. "That should help keep us warm in the wastes... Well as long as I keep singing."

"That is a nice voice you got there, you don't see that every day." he complimented.

It was a while later when they eventually arrived at their train destination.

The cloaked pony seemed to draw a knife from his cloak.

[Maple Bat 3,568]

"Oh thank you." Woody said nervously "I don't sing a whole lot. So I don't get many compliments."

Maple as she put her armor on noticed a pony in a cloak but she wore a cloak all the time so she didn't see anything wrong with it.

As they were stepping out of the train, Jack looked around.

"I have never been here before, but I guess I see now why they call it the Frozen Waste."

The cloaked stepped out of the train and went behind cover.

He then held the knife up with his magic, preparing to throw the knife straight at its target.

[Maple Bat 3,568]

Maple was listening to her brothers enchanting melodies when she saw a faint glow of magic "Hey! Show yourself!" She shouted then she whispered"Get behind me Jack." She stood there waiting for the mysterious pony to make a move she was ready if something, anything was to head towards her.

Woody was nervous. He'd never had an encounter like this so he stood behind his armor-wearing sister. "You got this Maple!"

Jack was standing behind her.

"oh no..." he said to himself with a worried tone.

"All unbelievers must perish." Where the word of the cloaked pony as he threw his knife straight at Maple.

The was flying towards her with a red dark glow around it.

[Maple Bat 3,568]

Maple ran towards the pony turning sideways so the blade would hit her armor and bounce off. Then she aimed her bow at them, an arrow appearing on the string the string turning deep red "No mercy then!" She yelled releasing the arrow. Seeing it fly towards them.

The cloaked pony tensed up as he saw her quick reflexes into action.

He quickly teleported away and reappeared some meters away and grabbed his knife with his magic.

He stood there with his knife in his magic, waiting for Maple to make her next move.

"Look I'll leave you alone if you leave us alone." Maple said aiming her bow at him. "But I won't hesitate if you attack again."

Woodland Orchestra was scared of what was happening but he had to help his sister. He began singing a different melody. Maples wings began to glow. She felt faster now she could dodge more strikes from the weird pony.

"You pledge your alliance to an incompetent leader, the Red Enclave shall show you the true path.."

The cloaked pony said as his horn glowed.

One of the bystanders was suddenly enveloped into his magic and dragged towards him.

He held the knife against the victim's throat.

"You would be smart to lay down your weapons, or this mare's death is going to end up death." The cloaked pony said with a cold voice.

[Maple Bat 3,568]

"Bro now's the time for the thing." Maple said then turned to the cloaked pony "A real leader wouldn't threaten a civilian like that."

"Sis I don't..." Woody hesitated but knew what she was talking about he started a slow melody and as it went on it got faster and eventually stopped when it stopped Maple was standing beside the cloaked pony. I did it I stopped time Woody thought

 Maple hit the knife away from the pony and kicked the cloaked one in the side "I'm not one to be beat by cheap tricks." She said attempting to pin the pony down

The cloaked pony was having trouble getting Maple off from him because of her superior strength.

He rolled his entire body to the right side, throwing them both off balance.

It was then followed up by a quick teleportation spell as he teleported back a few distances away, he then made a run for it.

Maple refused to lose the target her wings where still glowing from Woodys magic but the effect was fading She flew after the pony full speed. After she flew after them for a ways she realized she was freezing she couldn't hear her brothers music anymore so his magic no long had an effect on her.

Woody, over where they got off the train, was breathing heavily he'd never done so much magic at once. "Where did she go... She can't hear my songs anymore. So she may freeze to death out here."

Jack was thinking for a second.

"Stay here. I will go help her." he said as he teleported away.

The hooded unicorn eventually stopped running.

"You are persistent, but then again it wouldn't surprise me that they are getting desperate enough in an attempt to track us down."

"You shouldn't have set foot in our territory, a mistake you will come to regret dearly."

[Maple Bat 3,568]

"Me, Regret this? I'll make you regret being evil." Maple said firing shots from her bow at the pony firing a few more in random directions in case they teleported again. However as she shot it became increasingly difficult as her joints grew colder.

 

Woody was heading after Jack "I can't just let you go on your own. You'll freeze too." He continued to sing the warming melody.

The hooded pony got one of the arrows straight in his chest.

he coughed up blood as he fell to the ground.

"Y-you fool..." he gurgled out.

Jack reappeared close to him.

He levitated the hooded pony's dagger with his magic and held it against his throat.

You won't be murdering anypony anymore, you can say goodbye to your worthless and wasted life." Jack said in a cold tone.

"Don't think I will be going alone, I will take you with me." the hooded pony said with a sick smile as his horn glowed.

He fired a magical blast that hit Jack point blank.

Jack was slammed into the air as his entire body was full of burn marks and bleeding wounds.
