Comparing Harry Potter to My Little Pony

After re-watching Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix today, it occurred to me how similar Harry Potter and MLP actually are!

1. Voldemort couldn't kill Harry because he didn't understand love.

MLP villains are always beaten because they don't understand the magic of friendship.

2. Compare the battle between Chrissie and Tia in the Season Two finale to the light battle in The Goblet of Fire.

3. Twilight: 'I'm here to fight for our friendship!' (Season Two premier)

Harry: 'Whatever happens, we have something Voldemort doesn't have, and it's worth fighting for!' (Either Book 5,6 or 7; I can't be bothered to check.)

4. If mlp characters were Harry Potter characters:

Celestia: Dumbledore

Luna: Mcgonagoll (sorry I think I spelt that wrong)

Cadence: Sirius

Twilight: Harry

AJ, Dashie, Pinkie, Rarity and Flutters: Ron and Hermione

I want to make Shining Armour Hagrid and Flurry Heart Teddy Lupin, but I'm not so sure about that.

Come to think of it, Zecora makes a good Hagrid.

The moral of both is pretty much the same: Love/friendship/(rainbooooowws) is the greatest power of all.

So what does everypony else think about this? Let me know!

5. Oh, and don't forget this amazing reference in A Hearth's Warming Tale...

Yes, it's a Snape pony. ;);):D

If I don't understand something or Interpret it wrong, I'm dutch. Sometimes I gamble for meanings of the words. And sometimes I write the wrong words, like week and weak for example. Sorry for it already. :smug:

I've only really gone as far as to compare Harry Potter with how unicorns seem to work.  Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns seems to be similar to Hogwarts in many respects.  It may even have a laughably small student body that makes me wonder how it manages to stay open, but at least in the case of Celestia's school, no concrete numbers are confirmed.  CHS on the other hand defies all logic as I think their total student body is considerably smaller than just two grades of students at Hogwarts at a given time.

Anyways, I apply Harry Potter to the general concept of unicorn spells, and even use terms like charms or transfiguration to describe certain spells.  The key difference with FiM is that all unicorns can use magic as opposed to a select few humans.  Celestia's school, as the name implies, is for gifted unicorns who are exceptional at the art of magic whereas Hogwarts has squibs and wizards who are pretty terrible at magic.  Oh, and unicorns aren't hidden from non-unicorns.  My headcanon is that even the worst unicorn can cast a basic levitation charm even if that's all he or she can do.  I suppose it's possible that the unicorn equivalent of Scootaloo exists somewhere but that has yet to be seen.  Regardless, basic levitation will not get somepony into Celestia's school.  Obviously, not all unicorns have an interest in dedicating their life to the art of magic either.
